Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Battle of Wits with the Old Lecher

"Xianglian, your Moron... ahem, Xiao Lang is really out of line! He actually ran off to peep at my son and daughter-in-law's bridal chamber!"

Liu Renchun stormed into Moron's house, the wound on his forehead clearly visible.

"After I caught him, your Xiao Lang actually had malicious intentions; he wanted to silence me by killing! Fortunately, my son came out quickly, otherwise, my old life might have ended at your son's hands!"

Qin Xianglian was sitting in the yard washing clothes. When she bent over to scrub the clothes, her already short shirt seemed to strain, exposing a large patch of snow-white flesh at her waist.

Liu Renchun stood behind Qin Shaofeng, his old eyes fixated on the white flesh at Qin Xianglian's waist, swallowing hard, wishing he could immediately rush over and take a bite.

"Uncle, the child is still young and doesn't understand things; please be more forgiving. The wound on your forehead isn't that serious. Go see a doctor. I'll cover the medical expenses."

A widow's life wasn't easy, especially for a beautiful widow like Qin Xianglian. Ever since her husband died, the men in the village eyed her as if they were wolves. Qin Xianglian wasn't foolish; she understood those men's intentions.

As a widow, her life was already difficult, and with a son who had mental issues, it was even harder. In this village, she lived more cautiously than anyone else, daring not to offend anyone.

There's a saying that the door of a widow attracts trouble; even without fault on her part, those men still came buzzing. Qin Xianglian had often been taken advantage of but had never let any man other than her late husband touch her body.

"Xianglian, do you know your Xiao Lang has committed a crime? Attempted murder and even if not, at least intentional injury, he will have to go to prison!"

Liu Renchun used both threats and scare tactics to force Qin Xianglian into submission. Being an uneducated woman, Qin Xianglian was terrified by his words. Though Moron was a fool, he was still her flesh and blood. She couldn't let him go to jail.

"Uncle... please don't scare me."

Seeing Qin Xianglian's face change, Liu Renchun knew his intimidation had worked.

"Xianglian, what's this? I come to your house to talk, and you don't even offer me a glass of water? In this scorching heat, you let me, an injured man, stand under the hot sun? What are you thinking?"

Qin Xianglian immediately stood up, wiped her hands dry on her clothes, and went inside to fetch some water for Liu Renchun. Liu Renchun followed her in and closed the door behind him.

As Qin Xianglian was pouring the water, Liu Renchun suddenly hugged her from behind, pressing his smelly, unshaven mouth against her back through her clothes.

"Uncle, what are you doing..."

Qin Xianglian struggled, but a weak woman was no match for Liu Renchun's strength. Liu Renchun dragged her into the room, pressing her onto the bed, panting heavily: "Xianglian, if you submit to me today, I won't pursue your Xiao Lang's matter. If not, hmph, I have connections in the police department, and I'll make sure Xiao Lang goes to prison for three to five years!"

For years, Qin Xianglian had kept the village men at bay through caution and never giving anyone a handle. Liu Renchun's threat targeted her soft spot.

Qin Xianglian gradually stopped struggling, tears streaming onto the bedsheet. Just as Liu Renchun was about to fulfill his long-cherished wish, an unexpected guest barged in.

Liu Renchun felt a flash behind him and then heard a faint "click" sound, the shutter of a camera.

He turned around to see Jiang Xiaobai leaning against the doorframe with a smirk.

"Uncle Liu, go on. Don't mind me."

"What did you take?" Liu Renchun climbed off Qin Xianglian, his voice trembling with nerves.

"What do you think?" Jiang Xiaobai smiled.

Liu Renchun pointed at Jiang Xiaobai coldly: "Hmph, you dare come here; I was going to find you. You were involved in last night's matter, and you won't escape. I'll make sure both you and Moron go to prison for three to five years!"

"Whether we committed a crime is debatable. But Uncle Liu, you won't escape the charge of rape, with ironclad evidence. I photographed it." Jiang Xiaobai shook his phone, smiling: "Want me to call the police now?"

"Rape? Hmph, mutual consent doesn't count as rape." Liu Renchun sneered at half-dressed Qin Xianglian: "Xianglian, isn't that right?"

Jiang Xiaobai knew Liu Renchun was cunning; based on the photo alone, Qin Xianglian didn't appear to resist, making the consensual claim plausible.

"Xiaobai, we…"

Qin Xianglian worried Liu Renchun might really report Moron. With her weakness in his hands, she could only follow Liu Renchun's lead. She was about to claim she'd consented when Jiang Xiaobai interrupted.

"Auntie, step outside. I have something to discuss with Uncle Liu."

Jiang Xiaobai sent Qin Xianglian away and turned to Liu Renchun, saying, "Liu Renchun, what were you doing behind the house with a tall stool last night?"

"To smash you!" Liu Renchun's voice wavered, avoiding Jiang Xiaobai's gaze.

Jiang Xiaobai laughed: "Liu Renchun, no need to pretend. Don't think I don't know; you intended to peep at your son and daughter-in-law, didn't you?"

"You... nonsense!" Liu Renchun broke into a cold sweat; Jiang Xiaobai was too perceptive.

"You know what's true. Liu Renchun, you old pervert, I know more of your deeds. Last summer, didn't you assault Hu Dacheng's wife in the cornfield in front of my house?"

"She seduced me first." Liu Renchun blushed, defending himself.

"Spare me. With Hu Dacheng's fiery temper, if he knew you'd messed with his wife, he'd wipe out your entire family. No one would be left to bury you."

This wasn't an exaggeration; Hu Dacheng was fiery and explosive, quick to anger.

In the scorching heat, Liu Renchun broke into a cold sweat. He thought no one knew his misdeeds, but Jiang Xiaobai knew everything.

"And two summers ago, you..."

"Stop!"

Liu Renchun interrupted, wiping his sweat: "Jiang Xiaobai, you win! I won't press last night's matter. I'll let you and Moron off, but you keep my secrets."

"That depends on whether you keep bothering Aunt Qin." Jiang Xiaobai smiled: "If you leave her alone, I might forget your misdeeds in a few days."
