"The land?"
Lai Changqing did not understand what Jiang Xiaobai meant and scratched his thinning hair, saying, "Isn't all the land planted with crops? You know that."
"Is it profitable to grow crops?" Jiang Xiaobai asked.
"Sigh..." Lai Changqing let out a long sigh, his face full of dejection. "What money is there to earn? It's good enough not to lose money. This year, wheat is sixty cents a pound, we lost big time. Many villagers are so angry they don't even want to farm anymore."
"Isn't it? I don't see a single piece of unused land in the village," Jiang Xiaobai remarked.
Lai Changqing said, "How can a farmer let fertile land go to waste, growing weeds instead?"
"That's true," Jiang Xiaobai chuckled.
Lai Changqing said, "Farming really isn't worthwhile. All these years, have you heard of anyone getting rich from farming? Unless they can dig out gold from their land."
Jiang Xiaobai said, "I want to give it a try though."
