Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Tutorial (1)

All the students were directed to a hall with five doors, labeled from left to right: Easy, Normal, Difficult, Nightmare, and Hell. Behind each door lay monsters of increasing difficulty, and points were awarded by multiplying the monster's level with the door's difficulty multiplier. For example, defeating a level 1 monster in Easy earned 1×1 = 1 point, in Normal 1×2 = 2 points, in Difficult 1×4 = 4 points, in Nightmare 1×6 = 6 points, and in Hell 1×10 = 10 points.

Clearing each floor granted additional bonus points based on the chosen difficulty: Easy awarded 1,000 points, Normal 2,000, Difficult 4,000, Nightmare 6,000, and Hell 10,000. The dungeon contained a total of 100 floors, with the highest floor ever cleared in the tutorial being floor 35 on Difficult. The highest points recorded in the tutorial are 40,000.

The tutorial runs on a maximum time limit of 24 hours, after which it forcefully ends, teleporting everyone outside. However, participants can choose to exit the tutorial whenever they wish before the time expires.

After the choice selection, everyone were teleported in there tutorial. And on a large screen its shown that out of the 500 students 271 went in Easy, 133 in Normal, 91 in Difficult, 4 in Nightmare and 1 in Hell.

On the Screen there are 10 divisions, allowing juniors to view their seniors in the tutorial.

Max spent the first few minutes of the tutorial carefully scouring the terrain, searching for any usable resources. Beneath the prairie's lush green surface, he found fragments of small bones—remnants of rats and hollow bird bones scattered in the grass. With a wry smile, he realized that his earlier assumptions about keeping a distance were quickly becoming a joke. He would have to engage in close combat.

Piecing together the fragile remains, he used Bone Manipulation to bind and shape them into a makeshift dagger. It was rudimentary at best—sharp enough to fend off smaller creatures but nowhere near powerful enough to handle a larger threat. Nevertheless, he clutched the weapon tightly, feeling the faint pulse of his mana channeled through it.

Steeling himself, he moved forward cautiously, the tall grass swaying in the wind. His focus was sharp, but the peace didn't last long. A deep rustling sound broke the stillness, and a massive Giant Feral Hare leaped from the grass, its crimson eyes fixed on him. It was easily twice his size, and the power radiating from it was unlike anything he'd felt before.

Before he could react, the hare lunged. Its massive paw struck him with terrifying force, and pain shot through his body as his HP plummeted from 10 down to 2 in an instant. Max staggered, barely keeping his footing. Panic surged through him as he attempted to summon Soul Flame—his last line of defense. But the flame fizzled out, ineffective. These creatures weren't alive; they were tutorial constructs without souls. His skill was useless.

The hare prepared to charge again, and Max's mind raced. The makeshift dagger wouldn't penetrate its hide on its own. He needed something sharper, stronger. Focusing on his remaining mana, he channeled Bone Manipulation into the dagger, layering the blade with condensed mana and sharpening its edge. His mana reserves drained instantly, leaving him feeling lightheaded and his legs trembling with exhaustion. His head throbbed painfully from the strain, but the dagger now had a faint, deadly gleam.

As the hare lunged, Max ducked low, sidestepping with what little energy he had left. Using the momentum, he drove the enhanced dagger upward with all his strength, aiming for the hare's head. The blade pierced through its thick hide, cutting deep and emerging from one of its eyes. The creature shuddered, letting out a final squeal before collapsing, lifeless.

A notification flashed before him:

[You have defeated a Level 10 Giant Feral Hare. Experience +1000]

You have leveled up

You have leveled up

You have leveled up

Max slumped to the ground, feeling the weight of fatigue crash over him. He was barely holding on, but the surge of experience and the victory fueled a newfound resolve.

After his grueling battle, Max took several minutes to breathe deeply, employing his Abyssal Breathing Technique to recharge. Each controlled breath replenished his mana and stamina and seemed to subtly enhance his core stats. The effects left him feeling invigorated and ready to tackle whatever came next.

Examining the remains of the Giant Feral Hare, he quickly noted the more durable bones along its legs and chest area. He envisioned armor that could balance coverage with flexibility, giving him protection without limiting his movements. Working methodically, he shaped the strongest bones into a chestplate to provide maximum frontal defense. Layering overlapping bone fragments across his chest and ribs, he created a resilient barrier to his vital areas, reinforced for durability. A system notification appeared as he finished:

[Bone Chestplate created successfully. Durability: 500, Defense: 15]

Encouraged, Max crafted bone leggings from the hare's leg bones, focusing on strength and fluidity to add defensive support without hampering movement. When completed, his leggings had 200 durability and added 10 defense. Lastly, he fashioned boots from the leftover fragments, protecting his feet and lower legs with 150 durability and 5 defense. His total defense now reached 30.

The completion of his armor pieces triggered another set of notifications:

[Bone Manipulation leveled up to Level 2.]

[Bone Creation leveled up to Level 2.]

[New Skill Unlocked: Bone Equip (Level 1)]

Satisfied, Max opened his Status Window to check his updates.
