As Selene watched the adventurers completely absorbed in Minecraft, she felt a growing urge to learn more about the games in the cafe. Her curiosity was hard to contain, and she found herself drawn into a quiet conversation with Cedric, who had just arrived.
"Hey, Gelian," Cedric called over, a friendly grin on his face. "Could I get a cup of those noodles and a Koke?"
Gelian nodded with a knowing smile and went to prepare Cedric's order. While they waited, Cedric turned his attention back to Selene, who was still mesmerized by the sight of the adventurers in their virtual helmets.
"Do you play Minecraft too?" she asked, her gaze flicking back to him with interest.
Cedric chuckled, shaking his head. "Not Minecraft, actually. My favorite is a game called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
"The Legend of Zelda?" she echoed, intrigued. "What's it like?"
Cedric's eyes lit up as he began describing it. "It's more than just a game—it feels like you're living in another world. You take on the role of a hero named Link, who wakes up in a sprawling kingdom called Hyrule. The place has been ravaged by an ancient evil, Calamity Ganon, and it's your mission to save it before everything is lost."
As Gelian brought over Cedric's steaming noodles and cold Koke, Cedric continued, his voice filled with excitement. "Link's not just a fighter; he's an adventurer. You can climb mountains, glide over cliffs, swim in rivers, or even sneak past enemies. The world is enormous and open. Every corner of it has something to explore—hidden ruins, mystical forests, deserts, snowy mountains… even small villages where people go about their lives."
Selene leaned forward, entranced. "So you're free to go anywhere?"
"Exactly!" Cedric said, pausing to take a sip of his Koke. "You could focus on the main quest to defeat Ganon, or just wander off and get lost in Hyrule. You can cook meals, craft potions, and gather all sorts of resources. Every part of it feels alive."
Selene's eyes gleamed with fascination as she imagined this vast, living world. "What about the enemies? Do you have to fight?"
"Oh, plenty," Cedric replied with a grin, stirring his noodles. "There are these creatures called Bokoblins—goblin-like monsters—and Lynels, which are part lion, part warrior. The Lynels are so strong they can take you down with just a few hits. You have to plan, use the terrain, and think strategically. You might roll a boulder down a hill onto an enemy camp or set a trap to get the upper hand."
Selene was transfixed, almost as if she could see herself venturing through Hyrule, facing Bokoblins, and navigating the harsh but beautiful wilderness. "It sounds like a true adventure—full of wonder but without the real danger."
Cedric smiled at her enthusiasm. "It really is. The game lets you push yourself and explore incredible places. It's freeing, and each journey feels unique."
