Chapter 32 - Chapter 12: Bad Situation

The bald man, holding a collar, continued searching for an exceptionally good hiding spot with the group.

Hide and seek was the last resort for a mouse, and it was essential to be well-prepared.

Gao Xin ignored him and checked the time, it was twelve past two.

Having wasted several minutes on Meimei and the bald man's group, Gao Xin grimaced and hurriedly checked the rooms with Su Lei.

"There's a kitchen on the third floor too."

"Look, there's still food in the fridge."

"What delicious roast chicken."

Su Lei, drooling, took out various foods from the fridge. There were roast chickens, pizzas, fruits, and various frozen meats and vegetables on the table.

Gao Xin also found some toast bread in the cupboard, smelled it without any problem, and started eating immediately.

Since his trial and banishment began, he had eaten very little.

He couldn't eat, just thinking about how to plead his case.

After arriving at Crime Prison Island, he hadn't touched a single grain.

Now, hungry and thirsty, and seeing no problems with the food, he quickly ate his fill.

"We better eat a lot, who knows if those Japanese will feed us later," Su Lei said, even packing some food into his pockets.

Gao Xin saw and quickly stopped him, "Don't take it."

Su Lei was stunned, "Ah? Can't we take things from here?"

"No, we still need to hide, don't carry things that have a strong smell." Gao Xin said seriously.

Just then, Meimei walked in, grabbed some fruit, and began to eat, "You really think of everything."

Seeing that he still followed her, Gao Xin didn't say much more.

Su Lei then took out the food, individually packed it in bags, and placed it on the table, "Understood, we'll just pick it up when we leave then."

Gao Xin ate casually, and immediately left for the fourth floor.

However, at the end of the staircase leading to the fourth floor, there was a door.

The fourth floor was an attic with no corridor, and the door was locked, completely inaccessible.

"It's even a safe door, completely secured all around, don't even think about breaking in," Su Lei examined it and said.

Gao Xin pondered, "Do you think the Radiation could break it open?"

Su Lei thought for a moment, "Sasaki could definitely do it, you saw his fighting earlier, this door probably can't stop him."

"But for these four outside, it's not so clear. They seem to lack Sasaki's flair in combat; perhaps this door could stop them."

Gao Xin nodded slightly, "Hurry, find the key!"

The two immediately turned around, but saw Meimei blocking the staircase, her arms crossed, smiling at them.

Su Lei, puzzled, "If you want to follow, just follow, don't block the way, beauty."

Meimei smiled, stretched out her hand, and was holding a key, "It's you who are blocking me..."

Gao Xin paused, then stepped aside.

Meimei stepped forward, quickly unlocked the safe door...

The three of them entered one after another, and Meimei locked the safe door again behind them.

Su Lei exclaimed joyfully, "How come you have the attic key!"

Meimei glanced at him, "Of course, I found it. It was in a nightstand in one of the main bedrooms on the second floor. As soon as I opened the drawer, the key was lying there."

"After I split up from you guys, I kept looking for what this key could open. When I came to this fourth floor and saw it worked, I immediately went back to find you."

"So what do you say? Do you still want me to follow you?"

Gao Xin had already checked the attic; there wasn't much there, just some old items and boxes.

He didn't have time to rummage through the boxes and went straight to the attic window to check the view.

Indeed, the view was excellent. Four windows on the attic, facing each direction of the mansion, allowed for a panoramic view of all sides.

The group gathered at the front window, overlooking the entire front yard and even the area outside the courtyard wall.

They saw four Radiation in fierce battle outside the gate!

Clearly, some time had passed, and it seemed a group had figured out the cats-and-dogs rivalry situation, so they had conspired to ambush the Silver Hand Youth.

At that moment, the Silver Hand Youth was no longer able to remain uninvolved, being terribly beaten.

"This guy deserves it, look, he's been slashed many times," Su Lei laughed.

Gao Xin nodded, the Silver Hand Youth, fighting three against one, was in a dire state, covered in blood, feeling like he might perish at any moment.

As long as everyone understood the cats' situation in this game, such results were normal.

For the old cat, this period of not being able to enter the yard was the most difficult, a close call between life and death.

After all, the final reward for the cat was too great; this was the price he had to pay.

This was also the reason to wait until the last moment to negotiate with the cat; there's a high chance the Silver Hand Youth might not make it...

In the first twenty minutes where no mice were allowed inside, it was to let the strong compete for the role of the cat.

"Just wait, let's look for some rope or make some ropes," Gao Xin said.

Everyone understood; the attic had access in all directions, apart from that safe door, they could also escape through any of the windows, which was very convenient.

So they definitely needed to prepare ropes in advance for emergencies.

Soon, Su Lei found some folding tents, which had ropes and even pulleys, and he began to dismantle them.

He then complained, "The only problem with this attic is that there's no clock."

"Hmm," Gao Xin looked around and didn't see a clock anywhere, not knowing the current time.

It felt like a while had passed; it must be around twenty past two, but it was still early, as the bald man hadn't gone to negotiate yet.
