Chapter 6 - Dilemma

"S… Sebastian, please, can we not divorce? I don't want to get a divorce. Please give me another chance." Roxanne begged, upon hearing him say they would definitely get a divorce, but she could tag along to welcome his grandfather in a few days.

"Clean yourself up before you leave, Roxanne. You don't want everyone to think I bullied you." Sebastian's words kept replaying in her head, until Roxanne decided to exit the washroom. She still had to face him one way or the other.

He didn't even bother to address her request to not get a divorce, and the topic hung on her shoulders.

Finally putting her emotions in check, Roxanne splashed a few handfuls of water onto her face. She thought she had sorted her emotions properly, and could finally face Sebastian.

However, as soon as she stepped out of the adjourning room that served as Sebastian's bedroom, she was met with the smile that she longed to see since her rebirth. Sebastian was smiling so brightly, but it wasn't for her.

A young and elegant lady sat cross legged on the sofa as she watched Sebastian flip through various documents. She even refused to leave, as she offered to silently watch him work.

To Roxanne's utter dismay, Sebastian didn't seem to be bothered by her presence at all. It was as if they had done that on several occasions, and were even used to each other's presence.

"Does Jim know I'm coming?" Roxanne asked, forcing down the bitter feeling in her heart. She didn't dare to ask who the young lady was. She feared the response might cause her to pass out. Worse still, Sebastian might just choose to ignore her, and that would be too embarrassing.

'No matter who she is, I don't care. Even if she's his mistress, she will not snatch Sebastian from me.' Roxanne steeled her resolve, turning her attention to Sebastian and ignoring the young lady.

"Jim knows you're coming."

"Okay."

As she responded to his words, Roxanne was about to leave when the young lady quickly stood up.

"Roxanne Winslow? What a small world! I thought you'd be at the press conference already." Roxanne gave the lady an indifferent stare, as her mind raced with thoughts about what event she could be missing.

She just got reborn, and wouldn't remember everything so easily.

"Excuse me?" Roxanne addressed the lady indifferently.

"Oh, I'm Fiona. Fiona Hadding. We're both signed in Emperor Vibes Entertainment. I guess you haven't heard of a small fry like me yet." The young lady stretched forth her hand, awaiting Roxanne's. "Well, it's not like you come around the company everyday like some of us are supposed to. Tsk!"

Standing there awkwardly, Fiona thought Roxanne would accept her outstretched hand. However, the latter only raised her brows in question.

"The press conference to announce the face of Rejuvenation skin care products. Sebastian mentioned that the deal is solely for you. I tried so many times, but I was rejected. What am I even saying? There's no way you'll miss the contract signing. Pardon me for speaking out of turn."

Fiona awkwardly retracted her hand and fixed a bitter smile towards Sebastian, only to turn towards Roxanne with a taunting gaze.

Before she could say something else, Roxanne turned around and left, but not before responding to the young lady, "You talk too much."

Sebastian was amused at Roxanne's reaction. For a moment there, he felt proud of his wife for not allowing Fiona to get under her skin.

However, when Fiona mentioned how she ignored the deal for Rejuvenation skin care products, he felt disappointed even further.

Roxanne always chose the deals she wanted, even though he usually got the best for her. It was as if she didn't care about any deals he brought. If she wasn't in the mood for it, she would reject it, no matter how juicy the deal was.

"Holy heavens! I totally forgot about that deal. Ahhh! Roxanne Winslow, how did you live your life in the past?" Roxanne hurried into the elevator as she dialled her manager's number.

She remembered how the old her usually tossed deals aside just because Sebastian got them for her. However, this particular one caught her eyes, as the brand had a perfume that always blew her mind. The perfume was so mild that someone who was allergic to high scents like her, could use it freely.

"Pick up! Pick up! Pick up!" She kept chanting the words as the elevator moved downwards, until she heard the sound of the call being connected.

"Hera Young, why haven't I been informed about the press conference for Rejuvenation?" There was no exchange of pleasantries, and Roxanne went straight to the point. Her manager had been working against her for a long time, but she never cared, since her focus was only on pissing Sebastian off.

"R… Roxy?" The manager spoke up in a panic.

"Oh, cut the crap, Hera! I am supposed to be the face of Rejuvenation. So why is everyone aware of the signing ceremony except me?" The words were straight to the point, but Hera was still stuttering in the background.

"I… I sent you an email three days ago." Roxanne picked up the sound of other people in the room, though they were all trying to suppress their shocked and disappointed sighs.

"You are my manager, yet, you prefer to send an email when my number is on your phone. You don't give a hoot about me, do you?" Roxanne asked in a suppressed rage.

She was already out of the elevator, and headed towards the entrance. Her car was currently in a spot that shouldn't have cars parked there for so long. However, she was the president's wife, and no one dared to chastise her.

Settling in her car, Roxanne could feel the gazes of all the people around. Even some of their gossip made their way to her ears.

Roxanne felt like firing Hera on the spot, but she needed to sort things out first.

"Text me the address and everything else I need to know before coming. I assume you have an attire ready for the occasion." Roxanne cut the call without saying anything else.

She quickly threw the encounter with Hera out of her mind.

"Gosh! That Fiona rose to become a household name because she ended up with the Rejuvenation deal. Then she had the guts to later accuse Sebastian of rape when she became an A list actress. Tsk! I am here to make sure she doesn't get the currency to trample upon my man. Not after everything he did for her!"

Roxanne started her car and sped off, missing the flustered Lambert who was rushing towards the elevator. None of them saw the other, but Lambert was petrified at the news that caused him to rush back to the company.

Lambert paid an employee to spread rumours about the boss' divorce, but he was called and informed of Roxanne's visit, which scared him to no end. He couldn't allow Roxanne to sweet talk her way out of the divorce. Alas, he missed her at the company.

On Roxanne's side, she resolved to present her case to lawyer Jim, just like Sebastian offered. Afterward, she would head to the venue of the press conference.

A black Lamborghini parked in front of Masters law firm, and the valet quickly took position, awaiting the driver to step out. However, there was no movement from the person in the car.

Roxanne's bravado waned off as soon as she got to her destination, and she felt she couldn't even face the person she was supposed to see anymore.

"How am I supposed to tell my husband's best friend that I cheated and got scammed of my family's shares, and now I need his help to get it back?"
