After 5 days of running, the team of six finally returned back to Konoha.
The guards, Ryoma Senju and Iwashi Hatake frowned and asked, "Is Hokage-sama at the Daimyo's palace?"
Afterall, it was a reasonable thing to assume. After Kumo surrendering, it would mark the end of the First Great Ninja War.
And Daimyo might without funds using the excuse that the war has finished. It is important to give him a reminder that he can be easily replaced by any of his relatives.
Afterall, the Samurais protecting him and all the Daimyo's have been expelled, replaced by ninjas from their ninja villages. And only because the clans were fighting amongst themselves, the Daimyo's lineage held control for a long time.
The five bodyguards hesitated, but Akame, standing in front, did not waiver.
This meant that the Tobirama hasn't teleported back to the village as he promised.
"Tobirama-sensei will soon teleport back to the village."
Saying that, the six headed towards the Hokage Office.
"Hiruzen, Torifu, and you all, call all the clan heads and Mito-sama to the Hokage Office. And all of you, take some rest. I will lead a team soon to get back Tobirama-sensei if he doesn't teleport within two days."
Everyone nodded and left towards their respective clans to inform the clan heads to come to the Hokage Office.
Since Uchiha and Senju clans were in the center of Konoha, their clan compounds opposite to each other, Akame went to inform her mother to come to the Hokage Office.
Kagami, the second-in-command who is incharge of the paperwork, informed her that she has left to have a chat with Mito-sama.
It wasn't unusual for the two old hags to chat in the sun, often complaining about their dead husbands.
One had uselessly gotten himself killed while his wife was pregnant. And the other put the Nine tails inside her stomach instead of another child.
Akame headed to the 'Starbucks cat cafe' that her mom had opened, and found the two ladies laughing and chatting.
"Mother, Mito-sama, please come with me to the Hokage Office."
Judging from her expression, it was clear that something terrible happened. They nodded and followed her to the Hokage Office.
Nobody has arrived yet.
Akame bowed to Mito.
"Mito-sama, I apologize. I couldn't-"
"Akame. Don't apologize. I know Tobirama wouldn't want you to be guilty. It is the Hokage's duty to protect the children."
Mito, with a rather weak seal compared to Naruto's, has gained a somewhat power to sense negative emotions of the Nine tails.
She had immediately felt that Akame was feeling very guilty. And she guessed that Tobirama must have died.
For now, she would control her emotions, and cry alone later.
One by one, every clan head gathered. Their expressions grim.
Akame didn't sit on the Hokage chair.
She explained everything in detail about what happened.
"Sensei appointed me as the Third Hokage. But first, I will lead a search-"
Suddenly, Tobirama's body was teleported inside the Hokage Office, along with the Sage of Six Paths tools that were stolen by Kinkaku and Ginkaku from Uzumaki clan when they were about to seal Moryo during the Warring Clans Era.
Mito sighed.
"Tobirama had lied to you. If it was just 20 S-rank ninjas, he and you together could have easily handled them, even though Kinkaku and Ginkaku are tricky because they have stolen two Uzumaki clan artifacts. Most likely, the entire Kumo was under persuit. He wouldn't sacrifice himself so easily."
Seeing Tobirama's dead body, Akame could only accept the situation.
"Then with Tobirama-sensei's appointment, I stand as a candidate for the Third Hokage. If anyone would like to compete, please raise your hand."
Afterall, just a Hokage appointing someone doesn't make the person Hokage. If that was the case, Madara would have become the Hokage with Hashirama backing him.
The votes of the clan heads was necessary.
Danzo was about to raise his hand, but stopped.
Afterall, he was obviously weaker. Weaker than Hiruzen, and far weaker than Akame. Plus, the Shimura clans was a minor clan, unlike the Uchiha clan. He had no backing.
If he wants to become the Hokage, he would need clans to align with him.
Hiruzen also wanted to become the Hokage, but he knew his strength. He would be content as long as he got any position that wouldn't make him go through paperwork.
Despite being called 'Professor', he hates paperwork.
The Hyuga clan head wanted his grandson to become the Hokage. Afterall, at just the age of 15, he has mastered every Gentle Fist move, and even mastered the Twin Lion Fist that was created by that branch family member during the Warring Clans Era to keep up with his brother in the main family who could use more advanced versions.
Sadly, he found out later, that his son, that guy's brother, has secretly taught him the advanced moves of the Gentle Fist.
Hyuga clan head felt displeased just thinking about his son. He sacrificed himself just to protect his brother from the branch family.
That's why, he has personally taught his grandson, making him a good heir to the Hyuga clan.
"I suggest Hyuga Hiroshi for the position of the Third Hokage. Afterall, he comes from a noble ninja clan, and has good relationship with the Daimyo."
Everyone present sneered internally.
Hyuga Hiroshi? He is already 21, and would be barely able to hold against Danzo, who is from a minor ninja clan. And he is the third best in the six students of Tobirama.
Moreover, even if he had the strength, no one would accept a Hyuga Hokage, who engages in slavery.
Still, most of them quite about it. Accept the Senju clan head.
"As if anyone will accept a Hokage that is comfortable in enslaving their own clan. Lord First should have listened to Madara to end this slavery by force.
We don't need to wait more to discuss. Lord Second's funeral should come first. And we need to assess the borders.
Since Akame Uchiha has the power to intimidate those invaders, and is choosen by Lord Second, we will follow his will.
Senju clan supports Akame Uchiha to become the Third Hokage."
Hyuga clan head seethed because of mockery, and no one else suggested anyone else for the position of the Third Hokage.
"Uchiha clan supports Akame Uchiha."
Akame's mother said.
"Nara-"
"Akimichi-"
"Yamanaka-"
"Sarutobi-"
"Shimura-"
"Aburame-"
"Inuzuka-"
"Hatake-"
"etc. support Akame Uchiha."
All clan heads chose to vote in favour of Akame Uchiha.
"Hyuga clan will remain neutral."
Hyuga clan head still chose to be neutral to have some dignity. Supporting Akame now will look like Hyuga clan is trying to butter up the next Hokage, and opposing her will mean that there will be a chance that the Hyuga clan might get targeted.
Akame looked straight, and sighed.
"Alright. As the Third Hokage, I order everyone to remain vigilant of any moves by the other villages.
The funeral of the Second Hokage will happen this evening.
And the coronation ceremony will happen after a week of mourning."
Akame's mother looked at her daughter with emotion.
'My daughter wasn't reincarnated. Had no cheats besides me... And she has become the Third Hokage...
My daughter is the best!'
