Chapter 14 - The Trials Begin (2)

After being transported by the mystical light, Ryan finds himself in dungeon like maze with others like himself.

After surveying his entire surroundings, he comes up with an idea of where they might be. And suddenly his system confirms his suspicion.

"Ding!!"

[Host has been transported to the Trials.

Type:Dungeon

Duration:Nine hours]

When Ryan saw his system's notification, a visible shock arose on his face. He wasn't bothered by the fact that they were transported to the Dungeon Trial. The duration was what made him worried.

In the Trials there is an amount of time given to it's participants which determines when their Trials end;depending if they survive. A Trial can talk at least three days or more, the shorter the time limit to harder the Trial. Now Ryan's Trial was to end in nine hours which meant he would have to face adversaries that make prove to be formidable.

Each Trial had a boss level tyrant that would be the last obstacle to overcome. Because his Trial was nine hours, it showed how powerful the tyrant would be.

Tyrants were like demons. Abominable creatures that dwells on negative mana. Each creatures are graded in ranks.

Demons-D rank>grade 4

Paramythias-A rank>grade 1

Monsters-S rank>grade 3

Soul Slayers-S rank>grade 5

Tyrants-SS rank>grade 1

As Ryan tried to formulate a plan on defeating the tyrant as he would be the one to defeat it.

Ryan noticed everyone being frozen by fear as they curled on the ground.

How wasn't the type to start an encouraging speech. There was no need to get them worked up as they were going to die.

Ryan felt a bit of pity towards them, but we live in a world where the story rule and the weak are tossed aside.

Become he started venturing into the Dungeon he was met by an unforeseen threat.

The ground started shaking as it intensified the terror in the air. Ryan had a hint on what was about to happen as he stepped back away from the crowd slowly distancing himself from them by a few meters.

The ground split open as a creature came out. A figure that stood almost ten feets in the air as it stood on it's hind legs. The creature lacked a furry cover as it gave a skeleton like appearance. It's back lined with sharp spikes and claws that could tear a human in half.

As the figure came into the light many students went back in fear as the creature came closer to them. As it revealed it's true form some student suddenly collapsed on the ground in fear.

Ryan knew what the creature in front of him was. It was a Paramythia, an A rank Abomination.

Ryan stood unfazed by the creature in front of him. He knew what to expect as they were in the Dungeon Trial, no challenge was easy.

Suddenly someone from the crowd made a devastating mistake by trying to attack it with fire magic.

'Little bastard' Ryan said inwardly as he heaved a sigh. Seeing that the creature was already attacked he knew that there was going to be a massacre. Death was inevitable in the Trials.

The creature let out a fierce roar that echoed throughout the Dungeon.

"ROARRRR!!!!"

People from the crowd tried attacking it with more fire balls while some made vines grow out of the ground, trying to immobilize the creature. But little did they know that they were making it more angrier.

Panic and tension filled the air as the students resorted to using their skills against it.

The creature broke free out the vines holding it bound as it charged forward at them slashing everything in it path.

The scent of blood filled the atmosphere. Building up more pain throughout the crowd as everyone sought desperate means of escaping.

Ryan on the other hand who was watching the gruesome scene unfolding before him, stood there as he watched the creature massacre people in front of him.

'Well it was expected' he said inwardly knowing the outcome of the situation at hand.

After a few minutes, Ryan stretched out his hand pointing toward the direction of the creature as mana began form in palm in the form of a ball.

With the new skill he had acquired from Ren he was able to move at the speed of light. He zoomed through the crowd as mana continued flowing out of his palm.

He got to where the monster was as continued slashing through people like paper. In a swift attack he threw the ball of mana in his hand at the monster exploding it in a thousand pieces.

The smell of blood intermingled with the creature's remain filled the air.

He tucked his hands into his pocket as he walked back to the into the crowd.

The students who were remaining crumbled in fear as the creature's remains covered them.

A whole squadron of three hundred people including Ryan was transported to the Dungeon.

Now all that remains of that squadron was a hundred and ninety. Just one of the creature had killed one hundred and ten members.

People who had survived were either wounded or severely traumatized.

Ryan continued on his way as he could feel everyone starring at him in awe, and that was the last thing that he wanted.

This was just the tip of the iceberg, a taste of what they would have to endure for the next nine hours. There were more to come, stronger than the ones they just encountered.

"Hey you, why didn't you do that in the first place? You could do that but you let them die" an elf from the crowd said with anger in his tone.

Ryan paused in his pace as he gave him a cold stare making chills run down his spine.

Ryan didn't say anything as he let his eyes do the talking.

After a few seconds of intimidation, Ryan continued in his pace as he kept on walking deeper into the Dungeon.

'You're all gonna die anyways, so it doesn't matter if i help you' Ryan said inwardly as he continued walking.

He knew what was going to happen. He had read it in the novel. In the novel only the main character made it out alive with two others. But now that Ryan was involved, that was going to change.

Ryan had no intentions on helping people who couldn't even agree with themselves.

He continued walked deeper into the Dungeon until his figure was no longer seen by the crowd.

Unbeknownst to him that he was being followed by another mysterious person from the crowd.

As Ryan walked deeper and deeper, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was been watched. He couldn't sense who it was, but he shook off the feeling and headed for the inner chambers of the Dungeon.
