Chapter 18: Kill Level 5 Bosses in 5 Seconds!
Su Yu took a deep breath to calm his racing thoughts as he continued reading the hidden mission details.
The objective was clear: survive a direct attack from the mighty [Dragon King of Star Casting].
In any other situation, surviving an attack from such a terrifying force, even at level 60, would be nearly impossible. After all, the [Dragon King of Star Casting] was one of the game's most fearsome beings, capable of wiping out entire cities with a single breath!
But the game developers had set this challenge for players in the novice village phase, and with the severe punishment of a permanent ban for failure, Su Yu knew there had to be a hidden method to survive.
"How can I pull this off?" Su Yu wondered, lost in thought as he stood surrounded by a pile of slain silver snakes.
After a few minutes of brainstorming, no clear solution came to mind.
"Well, no point dwelling on it for now," he muttered. "I'll focus on the task at hand first."
With a renewed sense of purpose, Su Yu resumed clearing out the [Silver Snake] monsters. His immediate objective was to kill the Silver Snake Boss and obtain the [Silver Snake Gallbladder], a crucial material for the quest [Join the Scholar's Temple]—the first quest given to him by the old magician Pism.
"Over 180 snakes down, so the Silver Snake Boss should be respawning soon."
Su Yu unleashed spell after spell, his attacks devastating the serpentine monsters with lethal precision.
Now that his [Tears of the Goddess] accessory was fully charged, his maximum mana pool had surged to a whopping 760 points! This extra mana meant he could afford to be more liberal with his spell casting. However, Su Yu knew he needed to be efficient, so he upgraded his [Primary Mana Recovery Potion] using the [Pointing Star Hand].
"Ding! Do you want to spend 10 psionic coins to enhance the [Primary Mana Recovery Potion]?"
"Yes," Su Yu confirmed.
"Ding! [Primary Mana Recovery Potion] upgraded to [Intermediate Mana Recovery Potion]."
The newly upgraded potion now restored 300 mana over 3 seconds, perfectly complementing his expanded mana pool. No longer needing to chug potions as frequently, Su Yu was free to focus on cutting down his enemies without worry.
More than ten minutes passed, and after dispatching 200 more [Silver Snakes], Su Yu leveled up to 4. With his new level came a significant power boost—his spell power now stood at 36 points.
In addition, Su Yu could now equip the [Linen Gloves (Excellent) lv4] he had looted from the goat boss earlier. He upgraded the gloves to rare quality using his trusty skill.

Yet, despite all his progress, the Silver Snake Boss had still not appeared. Growing a little restless, Su Yu continued wiping out the remaining snakes in the area.
Finally, after killing over 100 more snakes, the Silver Snake Boss made its long-awaited entrance!

The Silver Snake Boss was an intimidating sight—a massive white cobra, stretching four meters long with a crimson mark on its forehead. As soon as it respawned, its cold, vertical pupils locked onto Su Yu.
Without warning, it coiled its body and launched itself toward Su Yu like an arrow, aiming its fanged maw directly at his neck.
Su Yu, however, remained calm. He glanced at the charging serpent with a confident smile, as if seeing a familiar friend.
It was a smile that said, *you don't stand a chance.*
Instead of dodging the strike, Su Yu simply fired off a [Lightning Arrow] followed by a [Frost Arrow], both aimed at the snake's vulnerable spots. He then sidestepped slightly, allowing the snake's powerful bite to miss him by inches.
The snake, missing its mark, tried to regain its footing mid-air and swung its thick tail like a whip, aiming for Su Yu's chest with a resounding "whoosh."
Despite the speed and force behind the attack, Su Yu was ready. Chanting a quick incantation, he summoned an [Ice Shield], which instantly formed around him, encasing his body in a barrier of shimmering frost.
*Crack!*
The snake's tail whip slammed into the shield with a loud thud, causing 112 points of damage. The shield trembled but held strong.
The Silver Snake Boss found itself thrown off balance and crashed awkwardly to the ground.
Not missing a beat, Su Yu unleashed another flurry of spells, targeting the serpent's weak spots. His spells hit hard:

- 59!
- 130!
- 61!
In just a few seconds, the once-mighty Silver Snake Boss was reduced to a desperate, bloodied wreck, scrambling to escape.
But there was no escaping Su Yu.
With a final [Lightning Arrow] and [Fire Ball], Su Yu dealt the killing blow.
Less than five seconds after the Silver Snake Boss had appeared, it lay dead at Su Yu's feet, its body blackened by the sheer force of the magic that had slain it.
"Ding! You killed the [Silver Snake Leader (Normal) lv5] and gained 70 experience points," the system chimed.
Su Yu couldn't help but shake his head in mild disappointment. "So easy. But it's a shame such good skin had to go to waste."
In his previous life, Su Yu had mastered the skinning profession, which allowed him to harvest rare materials like [Silver Snake Skin]. But in this life, he simply didn't have time to devote to side professions. As such, the valuable skin of the Silver Snake Boss was left to rot.
Still, Su Yu stepped forward to loot the boss.

After collecting the loot, Su Yu put everything into his backpack. His work in Silver Snake Valley was done, and it was time to return to Nolan Village to complete his quest.
