"Log of a Sarcastic Demigod Among the Stars" will basically be told from the recorded log of everyone's favorite sarcastic son of the sea, Percy Jackson, who has lived for almost 500 years.

It will be a few "entries" before Percy reaches the "Galaxy Far, Far Away."

Percy's Log: Entry No. 21, 874

Date: September 2, 2483

Location: Somewhere in the mountains of China

[Click, buzz, crack.]

Hi, it's me again. You know, I thought that after nearly 500 years of dealing with supernatural calamities and arrogant, proud, foolish, power-hungry, or half-crazy gods, I would finally have over a month of some peace and quiet. But no! Just the usual chaos, sprinkled with a dash of "Hey, we're going to play with Percy Jackson's life a little bit more."

So here I am, perched on top of one of these misty Chinese mountains, helping one of Periclymenus' distant descendants of one of the family lines that never left China, a teen girl named Zhao Liying, deal with some rebellious Taoist spirits, who apparently find it difficult to distinguish between an ancient artifact and something new and shiny.

Where it matters, the problems of the Chinese are not very different from the Greco-Romans, it's just that the Chinese have a lot less melodrama and arrogance... Although on second thought that can make a BIG difference.

It's funny how I can still remember my teenage days at Camp Half-Blood.... The Greek drama, nightmares, prophecies, laughter, searches, and many mistakes seemed to have happened an eternity ago. But traveling across the world for nearly five centuries has taught me one thing...

The gods never learn... And yet, here I am, ahem, cleaning up their messes once again.

[Pause, static.]

Then to give me more problems a message arrived.

A rather blurred call from a Iris message from Thalía and Reyna... Really, those two?

The Hunters of Artemis were desperate enough to call me, of all people, for help. And my first thought was, "Did someone drop a star on Zeus?"

Thalia's voice was heard, worried and annoyed by the urgency, which was an odd combination as Reyna followed her, wanting to sound more serious.

"Percy, we need your help," Thalia said.

"It's Artemis," Reyna added. She hasn't returned from her solo hunt in Canada... blah, blah, blah... It's been more than a month... blah, blah, blah..."

Then... Let me clarify this: Had the iconic goddess of the hunt disappeared?

A murmur of disbelief ran through my body. Sure, I'd gotten tangled up in the mythological, the metaphysical, and the utterly weird ALL MY LIFE, but when the Huntress Maiden gets lost or disappears again, it's a little unnerving, even for me.

[Click, pause, sigh.]

My mind fluttered between countless battles and disputes with my divine family. Each god or at least most had a penchant for the absurd, and manipulation seemed to be the only thing they had inherited from our shared lineage. That cynicism of mine kicked in, wondering if this was another mess that I would be responsible for fixing. By now I wouldn't be surprised if Artemis just got lost on the road of life waiting for me to fix whatever mess she's caused.

Despite my doubts, I agreed to look for her... I mean, come on, who else were they going to call, the Zodiac Patrol?

But before I could throw myself headlong into another divine crisis, I had to finish my work in China. Befriending some Taoists and discussing the finer points of ancient artifacts was... well, nothing I wouldn't have done before...

Entrada n.° 21, 875

Date: September 12, 2483

Location: Canada

Well, where did I stay?... Oh, I remembered.

Later that night, after assuring the spirits that I was only there for the modern artifacts, as well as the ones that are not dangerous and others that they stole while leaving their true treasures alone and then they could throw all the tantrums they wanted if they were disturbed, Zhao and I set off on our journey back to the Forbidden City or Imperial Palace as tourists also call it, which is where the entrance to the Taoist equivalent of New Rome and New Argos is.

We returned a day later and delivered everything, I helped classify some things, we informed the people in charge of the place that they are a kind of Shaolin monks like in the old movies, series and video games of the 21st century capable of manipulating chi, a century to which I am very attached in memories.

I also met and lived with other of my great-great-great and several other great-great-nephews... apparently the Zhang family line was the only one that did not stay in China.

So after staying a few days I prepared for my return trip, I got to the coast and swam straight to Los Angeles, I had some mishaps along the way, some sea monsters that wanted to try their luck, some modern pirates and Chryasor copycats and I also met Susanoo half drunk whom I had to prevent from dragging me into a sword duel.

That fencing maniac always gets carried away in sword duels.

Once in Los Angeles I went to the house I have there to take what I need and more, you never know what can happen in divine problems, especially if my luck is involved… or somehow the idiots I'm unfortunately related to are involved.

Then I booked a train ticket, even if with all the technology that is out there today and found in any means of transportation or any part of human cities it would be suicide for a Greco-Roman half-blood to use them or just be nearby, but I'm not worried. Not when I'm the only one able to survive in the mortal world when everyone else has to get to New Rome or New Argos before the age of 11 if they want to be able to live beyond that, and then resign themselves to living in confinement, since no one else is able to adapt to the continuous change of the world or at least they do not do so because of the gods... Idiots... I am talking about the gods.

Anyway, surprisingly I didn't have any problems the whole way on the train, which with my luck means future problems, so once I arrived at my destination station I decided to stretch my legs and walk to where Arty was supposed to have gone hunting.

[Click, buzz, soft thump.]

[End of log entry.]
