The entire island had completely collapsed.
Only ruins remained as evidence of the mysterious activities of the Abyss worshippers.
Seawater began flooding into the 31st floor.
With no island left to obstruct it, the seawater cascaded from the ceiling of the 31st floor, creating a breathtaking sight.
31st Floor.
The once-darkened sky now revealed its true colors.
The massive flesh orb was still here.
It felt its strength waning—its end drawing near.
Slowly, the flesh orb perished, leaving behind a corpse spanning over a kilometer at the floor's base.
Inside the giant flesh orb, a surprisingly spacious area had formed—a space that Arov now occupied.
What was peculiar was the lack of anything grotesque.
I mean, look at it—it's all made of flesh.
How could there be a bed, a sofa, and other pieces of furniture?
Thaluna was lying comfortably on a king-sized bed at the moment.
Her body no longer resembled that of a ten-year-old child but had transformed into a fully matured woman.
Her tails now numbered nine, signifying she had reached adulthood.
"Nggh, what happened?" Thaluna awoke, her crimson eyes still swollen, as if she had been crying.
Looking around, she realized she was in what seemed like someone's home.
But when her gaze landed on the wall in front of her…
Arov was hanging there, his hands and feet completely fused with the wall of flesh.
Thaluna shuddered at the sight.
She immediately recalled what had happened.
She saw the massive black fire tornado striking the mountain and remembered Arov embracing her to shield her.
She saw his blood and his burning body protecting her.
"Sniff… Hiks…" Thaluna began sobbing uncontrollably.
She approached Arov's body, trying to free him.
"Idiot, why didn't you just run? Now you've ended up in this disgusting place."
As Thaluna attempted to release him, she realized Arov's flesh was entirely fused with the walls of this fleshy domain.
Suddenly, a memory resurfaced in her mind.
"Grand Hero Spirit! Can you help him!?" Thaluna screamed into the void, desperately seeking aid.
[Child of Fortune: I cannot. Arov is dead. This is now up to him.]
"What?! What do you mean, it's up to him?! Aren't you his mentor?! Do something!" Thaluna pounded on the golden panel, but to no avail.
However, amidst the devastation, something unexpected occurred.
[Child of Fortune: Miracle of Fortune activated successfully. Vacuous Attributes consumed: 100,000 points. Luck maximized to 10,000.]
Arov's shattered body suddenly moved, pulling Thaluna into a tight embrace.
Shocked, she initially struggled but quickly calmed down.
Arov, now an unrecognizable mass of flesh, was suddenly surrounded by golden light that pierced through the ceiling of the 31st floor.
The light acted like gentle hands, lifting and enveloping his distorted form.
Instantly, the remnants of Abyssal energy and demonic energy in the area seemed to be purified and cleansed by unseen forces.
The interior of the flesh orb opened entirely, revealing Thaluna and Arov.
Thaluna, still in Arov's embrace, could only stare with wide eyes.
A mix of fear, safety, and confusion flooded her mind.
"…What is this?" she muttered softly, her voice almost lost in the sudden silence.
[Child of Fortune: The Miracle of Fortune has saved the subject. Transformation will be restored gradually.]
Slowly, Arov's once monstrous body began reverting to his human form.
Twisted flesh and misplaced bones realigned as unimaginable pain coursed through his entire being.
Yet Arov made no sound.
In his unconscious state, his body moved as though driven by a single purpose: to protect.
"Arov…" Thaluna's voice trembled.
The golden light gradually faded, along with the Abyssal and demonic energy in the sky.
The oppressive atmosphere lightened slightly, though the devastation around them remained.
Arov collapsed to his knees, his breathing ragged.
His fragile body was covered in horrifying wounds, yet he gave Thaluna a faint smile.
"Hah… you're okay, right?" he asked in a hoarse voice, barely audible.
Thaluna didn't respond, her eyes brimming with tears.
She knelt before him, holding his trembling hand.
For the first time, Thaluna—so full of pride and defiance was left speechless.
A heavy drowsiness overcame Arov.
He had completely exhausted himself, barely able to speak.
After overusing his mutation and absorbing an incomprehensible amount of demonic energy, it was a miracle he was alive.
Thaluna realized this too. So, she cast a hypnotic spell on Arov, putting him to sleep instantly.
Arov rested in Thaluna's lap, unaware of what was happening around him.
A golden panel appeared in the corner of Thaluna's vision.
[Child of Fortune: Be careful. That Abyssal creature isn't dead yet.]
"!!!" Thaluna scanned her surroundings in a panic.
She heightened all her senses to the maximum and finally noticed something.
She laid Arov on a bed made of flesh, even though it was Arov's own flesh and blood.
Her leg muscles tensed before she leaped away.
In mere minutes, she crossed dozens of kilometers.
Thaluna's speed had reached an unimaginable level—covering 100 meters in a single second.
Soon, she arrived at her destination.
The remnants of a devastating battle scarred the area she passed.
There, she saw a black mass teeming with Abyssal energy.
The mass began to morph into a humanoid shape.
A man with long black hair emerged. At first glance, he looked handsome, but madness was deeply etched in his dark pupils.
Those eyes were abyssal, filling Thaluna with a slight sense of dread.
But she projected her illusion magic around her, creating what seemed like her own domain.
The man spoke.
"I didn't expect to be greeted by such a beautiful woman upon awakening," his gaze fixed on Thaluna.
"And I certainly didn't expect a traitor to willingly walk into her death." His expression shifted as he drew a massive sword he had previously wielded.
Once again, black flames ignited, enveloping the entire area.
Thaluna remained silent, making no moves.
"Let me recall… Are you the fox from the Foxian race? Isn't your kind already subjugated to the 99th floor of the Abyss? Instead of increasing your contributions to break free from the yoke of secondary races, you think of rebellion?" The man caressed his enormous sword.
Thaluna shivered slightly at his words.
"When one of you rebels, the consequences don't fall on you alone. Friends, relatives, family, your entire race—they'll suffer the repercussions! You filthy foxes will soon meet your end!"
The massive sword struck the ground, causing a brief earthquake that triggered landslides on nearby mountains.
The man continued.
"But don't worry. This clone body lacks the ability to transmit memories to the main body. So you can—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Thaluna lunged forward and gripped his neck tightly.
Her nine tails wrapped around his arms and legs.
Thaluna's expression was now filled with rage. She had always wanted to avenge her race against the Abyssians.
But she knew the consequences, so she had restrained herself until now.
Now, the opportunity had come.
Boom!
The man was slammed into a stone wall, blood spilling from his mouth as he felt his internal organs shatter.
The previous battle had already left him severely weakened.
Thaluna's nine tails underwent a strange transformation, sprouting numerous eyes that emitted a horrifying aura.
An array of illusion magic bombarded the man's mind, forcing him to experience countless deaths and agonies.
Yet, his expression remained firm, seemingly unaffected.
"Not bad. For a creature from a lower world, you managed to disturb my mind. Though this illusion isn't as strong as the Three-Eyed Race's."
The eyes on her tails radiated an overwhelming killing intent.
Thaluna didn't want to hear another word. She wanted this Abyssal being dead.
But a voice stopped her.
"That's enough, little fox. Let me handle this."
It was Arov.
Arov descended from the sky with his demonic wings.
"Arov? Why aren't you resting? Let me help you…" Thaluna said, her face full of concern.
"It's fine," Arov replied as he approached the man.
He stared at him.
"Well, I actually came here to ask a few questions," Arov said, standing before him.
"But it seems you have no intention of answering."
"Of course not. This body is merely a clone. Whatever you do here won't affect me in the slightest," the man replied.
Arov simply gazed at him before forming a sword from his own flesh.
"In that case, goodbye. This was a good battle, though."
Arov raised his sword high and cut the man's body into two.
