Chiyue, still disoriented from the barrage of ninjutsu, blinked in confusion at Reiki's words. This wasn't an illusion—it was real. She glanced at the three young ninjas standing nearby, each armed with several scrolls ready for use, while Reiki calmly approached her.
"What do you want to do?" Chiyue's voice trembled slightly. She couldn't believe Reiki's intention was to simply heal her; there had to be more to it.
"Don't worry; you'll understand soon enough. Right now, you're not fit for real combat training, so I need to patch you up," Reiki said, unrolling a scroll to seal away her chakra. He left her body unrestricted; this was not just about using her as a training dummy.
Reiki's swift and precise medical ninjutsu quickly healed Chiyue's injuries, leaving her physically restored but chakra-less.
"A ninja for hire doesn't rely solely on ninjutsu, you know," Chiyue said, shifting her body and assessing her opponents. "Three genin and one chuunin, who's also a medic? Who gave you the nerve to challenge me?"
Despite her sealed chakra, Chiyue was a formidable Jonin. Confident in her taijutsu, she smirked. This would be quick work.
"Alright, you three, if you can't defeat an opponent who's lost her chakra, you'll return to the village and train under me," Reiki said before stepping aside. The barrier, a gift from Tsunade, was large enough for the four to spar without restrictions.
Chiyue glanced at Reiki, puzzled. "You're not joining the fight?"
"If I did, you wouldn't stand a chance to struggle. Kakashi, Obito, Rin—go."
Reiki settled down on a rock, producing a bag of snacks and starting to eat, much to Chiyue's irritation.
"Such arrogance!" she growled. "Fine, I'll show you—"
A flash of silver interrupted her as Kakashi's short blade sliced through her clothing with precision. His eyes were cold, focused.
"Hatake Kakashi, son of Konoha's White Fang," Chiyue muttered, recognizing his stance. "Impressive technique, but it's not enough—"
Before she could complete her taunt, Obito's fist struck her side, disrupting her balance.
"Gotcha!" Kakashi's blade gleamed again as it aimed for another strike. The years of training with Reiki had honed his instincts, making him precise and ruthless.
Chiyue tried to recover, but a sharp pain shot through her leg as Kakashi's blade pierced it. Blood spilled out.
"Can't tell a clone from the real one? Some Jonin you are," Kakashi taunted, continuing his relentless assault. Rin provided silent support, monitoring Chiyue's movements and relaying them telepathically to the others.
With teamwork sharpened by training, Chiyue fell within half an hour, her breath ragged.
"So this is Jonin-level taijutsu?" Kakashi mused, sheathing his blade. "It feels like something's missing."
"She probably relies on chakra-based techniques," Obito suggested. "Boss Reiki, why don't we let her use her chakra and fight again?"
Reiki considered it, nodding. "Alright, but someone else is prowling around outside, looking for us. If he comes closer, I'll bring him in."
Reiki activated his ability, and within moments, another ninja, Binghuo, was pulled into the barrier.
"Binghuo?" Chiyue's eyes widened. She watched in disbelief as Reiki effortlessly manipulated space, dragging the newcomer into their arena.
"Chiyue? So you were ambushed! No matter, I'll—"
Binghuo's bravado was cut short as he was smothered by a flurry of ninjutsu, unable to even complete his sentence.
"Why do they always stop to make speeches?" Chiyue muttered, exasperated. She had no time to warn Binghuo not to show off.
"Alright, switch partners," Reiki said calmly, sealing Binghuo's chakra and beginning to heal him. "Try to finish faster this time. I expect Minato and the others back soon."
Kakashi and the team launched into another round of combat. Chiyue, weary from repeated sparring, finally collapsed on the 12th fight, refusing to continue. Binghuo fared slightly better, lasting until the 16th round before he too lost the will to fight.
The training continued under the unyielding oversight of Reiki, who ensured that each battle honed the skills of his team while breaking down their opponents' resolve.
