When Yura returned to the interrogation department, he found Yihe sitting outside, looking lost in thought.
"Yihe, what's wrong?" Yura asked, concern evident in his voice.
"It's nothing," Yihe replied, his expression a mix of disappointment and resignation. "I just feel like all my efforts have been in vain. One little guy's talent has overshadowed everything we've done. It's... a bit disheartening."
"Reiki?" Yura was taken aback. "You can't be serious. Even if he managed to get information from a prisoner, it can't be that bad, right? Or is there something else I don't know about?"
"Just… go take a look," Yihe said, his voice trailing off as he continued to sit there, lost in thought.
Yura frowned, sensing something deeper at play. He entered the interrogation room, where he found Reiki hard at work.
"Master Yura! You arrived just in time," Reiki greeted him with enthusiasm. "I have the testimonies of four prisoners here, all confirmed. I'm going to treat the next one now. If they can give up information so easily, this will make things much easier."
As Reiki moved to the next cell, Morishita approached Yura, holding a stack of documents.
"I have to say, this kid is truly a genius!" Morishita exclaimed, his calm demeanor belying the excitement in his eyes. "Yura, I'm interested in being responsible for his protection."
"How do you know that?" Yura asked, surprised by Morishita's sudden interest.
"With Lord Hokage's character, it was a given he would make such a choice," Morishita replied confidently. "I'll present this information to Hokage-sama personally. For now, you can stay here."
With that, Morishita vanished into thin air, leaving Yura alone with his thoughts.
---
Meanwhile, in the cell, Reiki had finished treating the last of the six prisoners and felt his chakra deplete.
*Ding!*
*Basic treatment completed...*
"Master Yura, I need to rest," he said, stretching his arms. "I'll come back tomorrow to treat the others."
Yura finally let out a long breath. "Alright, that sounds good."
But something nagged at him. Wasn't Reiki supposed to assist with interrogations? Why was he talking about returning for treatment tomorrow?
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Yura moved on, trusting Reiki's instincts.
---
Outside, Tsunade awaited Reiki's return. "Reiki! How did it go?" she asked eagerly.
"Teacher," he said, grinning, "it was a great success. The interrogation department was just as I expected—lots of physical injuries and even more mental ones. I managed to treat both."
"Really? Mental injuries too?" Tsunade's eyes widened in surprise. "You know, many ninjas suffer greatly from mental trauma after missions. It's often more debilitating than physical injuries."
"Yeah, I can treat them. The energy consumption is high, but I can manage up to three people at once," Reiki explained, holding up three fingers proudly.
"Three people!?" Tsunade gasped, astonished. "You're serious? I have some people in mind for you to treat!"
"Of course, no problem," Reiki replied, feeling proud.
Before he could say more, he noticed Tsunade's expression shift as she stared into the distance.
"Have they discovered us?" Tsunade wondered aloud, her senses sharpening.
Morishita stepped out of the shadows. "I've applied to Hokage-sama to stay here as Reiki's bodyguard. Anyone who wants to get near him will have to go through me first."
His demeanor was friendly but firm, radiating confidence.
"Come in! It's been ages since we've seen each other. Have a drink!" Tsunade invited, eager to reconnect.
"Maybe later," Morishita replied. "I need to adjust to my new mission status." With that, he slipped back into the shadows.
Tsunade watched him go, a smile playing on her lips. "Looks like the Hokage takes Reiki's safety very seriously."
"Shall we eat?" Reiki suggested, not wanting to interrupt their reunion.
"No, no, I'm going to cook!" Tsunade insisted.
"Teacher, I'd better head out," Reiki replied, recalling previous cooking disasters. He had no desire to sample Tsunade's culinary experiments.
---
Half an hour later, Reiki finished his meal and washed the dishes before retreating to his room. He began practicing with his chakra, noting the increase in extraction speed with his newly unlocked blue hands.
With each session, he felt his mental and physical strength improving, and he marveled at the training possibilities before him.
Outside, Tsunade poured herself a drink, nostalgia washing over her as she reflected on old battles and friendships.
"Come out! I know you're lurking nearby," she called into the darkness.
"I'm here. Drink?" she offered, filling two glasses.
In the solitude of the night, they reminisced about their past, the weight of their memories mingling with the promise of a brighter future.
