Chapter 4 - Nano Machine

Christian spent a few months at the hospital recovering before, he was discharged an although he wasn't fully recovered he had to go back twice a week for therapy.

After another few months, Christian was able to make a full time recovery and return to training. During training Christian realised although his current skills weren't bad but he didn't have the same explosiveness and flare he used to have, this disparity in skills was so noticeable that he even lost his spot in the starting eleven.

Christian once a rising star, had now become a shadow of his former self all the friends he used to have, had stopped interacting, he that his team mates who once looked up to him now looked down on him. It was so evident that they began to actively avoid him and during training he would be in the middle man in the game chasing after the ball as they passed it among themselves. Although he didn't show it he was very angry because when he was still a prodigy, some of them wouldn't even dare look him straight on the eye.

After the accident, he had put himself all in into training going as far as to drop out of school just to focus on football. After one of his late night training session at the academy Christian mounted his bike and began the ride home. The streets were quiet, the sky painted with the hues of dusk. His mind wandered back to the match that had changed everything. He could still hear the crowd's roar, feel the impact of the tackle that had brought him down.

With his mind wandering in thought he barely noticed the car speeding towards him until it was too late. The driver, clearly intoxicated, lost control and swerved into Christian's path and instinctively he tried to swerve out of the way but the car was too fast and still managed to collide with him.The collision was sudden and brutal. Christian was thrown from his bike, landing hard on the asphalt .Pain radiated through his body.

Are you okay?" a passerby shouted, rushing over to Christian's side. "Someone call an ambulance!"

Christian's vision blurred, but he could make out the concerned faces gathering around him. He tried to speak, but the pain was too intense. The ambulance arrived moments later, and as he was lifted onto the stretcher and rushed to the hospital. When Christian awoke, he was in a hospital bed, surrounded by the sterile smell of antiseptic and the beeping of medical equipment. His body ached, but the pain was surprisingly minimal. A nurse noticed he was awake and quickly called for the doctor.Christian's mind was reeling as he remembered he heard something like

Soon the doctor arrived he was a middle aged man, with a kind but serious face came into the room holding his chart, he began going through his chart

"You were lucky to survive that accident with so little bruises, I would have expected something like a broken ribs or fracture but it seems you made it out with little injury" The doctor continuing to read his chart. Christian felt relieved after this as he wassup worried the accident might have affected his Achilles tendons because if it did it would be the end of his career.

Christian tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over him. The doctor gently pushed him back down.

"Take it easy," the doctor said. "You fainted due to an adrenaline rush and shock. It's a miracle you're in such good shape. Most people wouldn't have walked away from an accident like that."
