The next morning, the soft glow of the Parisian sun invaded the suite, illuminating the room and slowly waking them up. Emily opened her eyes, feeling at peace and with a slight smile on her face. Still nestled in Matthew's arms, she watched his face as he slept, admiring the serene and vulnerable expression she rarely saw.
Feeling her gaze, he began to wake up, half-opening his eyes and smiling when he saw that she was already awake. "Good morning," he murmured, his voice still hoarse from sleep.
"Good morning," she replied, with a sparkle in her eyes. "I think the city of Paris makes us wake up like this, peaceful."
Matthew laughed, stretching before sitting up in bed. "Yeah, it seems Paris really does have that effect. Ready for our day?"
Emily nodded enthusiastically as she got up to grab a change of clothes and get ready for the outing. After getting ready, they went down to the lobby together, where a table was reserved for breakfast overlooking the hotel's inner garden, full of flowers and elegant statues. The buffet offered a varied selection, from freshly baked croissants to fruits, cheeses and other French delicacies.
Matthew made Emily's coffee, serving her a croissant filled with raspberry jam. "You have to try this. They say the croissants here are incomparable," he said, handing her the plate with a smile.
She bit into the croissant and closed her eyes, savoring the soft texture and light, buttery flavor. "Delicious. I think that alone was worth the trip," he said jokingly, and they both laughed.
After breakfast, a car was waiting to take them to their first destination of the day: the Eiffel Tower. Once there, the two stood for a few moments, admiring the grandeur of the tower. Emily held his hand, visibly moved. "I never thought I'd be here... and with you," she whispered, looking up at him.
He smiled, squeezing her hand. "And this is just the beginning. Shall we go up?"
They took the elevator to the top, where they were greeted with a stunning view of Paris. The city stretched out in every direction, with the Seine River sparkling in the distance and historic buildings dotting the landscape. Emily approached the railing in awe, while Matthew watched her with an enchanted smile. He approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Paris is even more beautiful when I see it through your eyes," he murmured, making her smile shyly.
They spent a long time there, taking in every detail, talking about the city's history and taking photos to capture the moment. Then they descended and went to the Seine, where they boarded a boat for a romantic ride. The gentle breeze, the reflection of the buildings in the calm waters, and the gentle rocking of the boat created an atmosphere of tranquility.
As the boat glided along the river, Emily leaned against Matthew, who wrapped an arm around her. "This place is truly magical, Matt. Thank you for this," she whispered.
"Anything to see you happy," he replied, gently kissing her head.
After the tour, the driver took them back to the hotel, where everything was ready for the special dinner of the evening. Emily changed into an elegant dress, while Matthew changed into a suit that enhanced his imposing presence. When he saw her get out, his eyes lit up.
"You look stunning," he said, admiration in his eyes.
"Thank you. And you look very elegant too," she replied, blushing slightly.
Dinner was served in a restaurant with a panoramic view of the illuminated Eiffel Tower, and the atmosphere was captivating. They enjoyed every moment, toasting the incredible day they had spent together and what was yet to come.
As they walked back to the hotel, holding hands and laughing, the feeling of closeness and happiness seemed to grow with each passing moment. They entered the suite, where Emily turned to him, still smiling. "This has been the best day of my life, Matt. Thank you."
He held her face tenderly, his expression soft. "This is just the beginning, darling. We still have so many moments to create together."
He pulled her into a tight embrace, and there they were, surrounded by the silence of the night and the magic of Paris.
The next morning, Matthew and Emily went down to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. After eating, they decided to visit the Louvre, eager to explore the museum's works of art and history. Once there, Matthew realized he had forgotten his camera in the car and said a quick goodbye to Emily, saying he would be back in a few minutes while she began exploring the grounds.
In the parking lot, having found his camera, he was about to return to the museum when a woman approached him. Tall and elegant, with a confident smile, she appeared to be in her early thirties and was clearly sophisticated, with an air of interest that did not leave Matthew indifferent, although he had no intention of paying her any attention.
"Hello," she said, with a charming smile. "Sorry to interrupt, but… do you seem lost, or perhaps just a little distracted?" She tilted her head, trying to catch his eye.
Matthew smiled politely, but quickly looked away, not paying much attention. "I'm fine, thanks. I was just getting my camera."
She didn't let the answer faze her. "Oh, photographer, then? That must be an interesting profession." She moved a little closer, enough for Matthew to notice that she wasn't just friendly. "Paris is perfect for unforgettable moments, don't you think?"
Matthew maintained his posture, polite and somewhat indifferent. "Yes, Paris has its charms," he replied, keeping his tone casual. He tried to step aside, indicating that he wanted to leave, but the woman stepped forward, blocking his path.
Realizing that he wasn't interested, she decided to be more direct. With a smile that had a touch of boldness, she placed a hand on his arm. "Look, you seem like a busy man… but maybe you want someone to show you the city in a… different way."
Matthew was visibly uncomfortable, trying to pull away respectfully. "I appreciate it, but I'm with someone."
Before he could pull away, Emily appeared in the hallway leading to the parking lot. The sight of the woman standing so close to Matthew, smiling and touching his arm, made something inside her boil. Her possessive side came out strong, and she decided she wouldn't let this situation go unnoticed.
With firm steps, Emily walked over to the two of them and stopped next to Matthew, wrapping her arm around him with an expression that was both protective and defiant.
"Sorry, but he already has company," she said, looking directly at the woman. Her tone was polite, but the message was clear: He's with me.
The woman raised her eyebrows, surprised by Emily's sudden appearance, but smiled wryly. "Oh, sure. I was just being friendly, you know." Her smile faded, and she took a step back, her eyes a mix of disdain and disappointment.
Emily, however, did not let go of Matthew's arm, and her firm expression gave no room for further provocation. The woman looked at them one last time before leaving, clearly irritated.
As soon as she walked away, Matthew let out a sigh of relief, turning to Emily with an amused smile. "You saved me from a very uncomfortable situation."
Emily was still watching him with a possessive look, but now also amused. "I can't leave you alone for five minutes, can I?" she said, smiling slightly. "But that's okay, I'm just making it clear to anyone who thinks of approaching me."
He hugged her, laughing, and kissed her softly on the forehead. "I admit it's kind of... interesting to see this side of you. Besides, I can't look at anyone else when I'm with you."
Emily relaxed, sighing and intertwining her fingers with his. "Well, it better stay that way," she murmured, still in a somewhat possessive tone, but with a touch of affection.
They laughed together, and Matthew took her hand, leading her back to the museum, where they spent the day exploring the wonders of the Louvre, now even closer together.
