Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: New Day

Emily sighed, relaxing a little as she felt Matthew's support, even if only through text messages. After a long day on set, his presence, even if virtual, brought an unexpected relief.

Emily: "Thank you, Matthew. It was a bit of a tense situation with a scene partner. It seems like the pressure is getting to all of us, and things got a little complicated."

Matthew: "I can imagine how hard it must be to stay calm with all that pressure around. But, knowing you, I'm sure you handled it in the best way."

Emily: "I tried, but I admit that there are times when it's exhausting. Just thinking that tomorrow everything starts all over again..."

Matthew: "Tomorrow will be a new day. And who knows if I can't take you out for coffee before work, to give you a little extra energy?"

Emily smiled at the proposal. Matthew was the kind of person who seemed to know exactly what to say to make your day a little better.

Emily: "That would be amazing! I'd love to start the day like that."

Matthew: "So, deal. A coffee to recharge and face the world together."

By the end of the conversation, she felt lighter, her mood completely transformed. Even though the day had been exhausting, the promise of a coffee with Matthew brought a feeling of comfort and renewal.

The next morning, Emily woke up excited. After finishing getting ready, she chose a comfortable blouse and a jacket, something casual but that would make her ready for the day on set. She arrived at the café where they had agreed, and a few minutes later, she saw Matthew coming in. He was wearing a dark shirt with an elegant jacket, and his smile when he saw her was enough to make her forget any tension from the previous day.

"Good morning," he said, with a warm smile, handing her a ready-made coffee. "I thought you deserved something special."

"Thank you, Matthew," she replied, feeling the warmth of the coffee between her hands. "I didn't know how much I needed this."

They sat by the window, where they could watch the street go by while they chatted about trivialities, laughing and sharing light stories. Emily felt that, for a brief moment, she could forget the weight of expectations and simply enjoy his company.

"So, are you ready for another day of filming?" Matthew asked, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

"I am now," Emily said, smiling. "This coffee and this conversation really made a difference."

When she arrived at the set, Emily felt refreshed. The atmosphere was a little more relaxed, and, to her surprise, Rafael seemed calmer too. They greeted each other with a quick nod, and he even gave a slight smile, indicating that he was willing to put the conflict aside.

The scenes of the day required strong emotional charge, with Amara confronting powerful figures. The set was set to look like a high-ranking executive's office, with Emily wearing a blazer that reflected her character's determination. She delivered her performance with intensity, her voice conveying Amara's courage in the face of threats.

During breaks, some voices among her colleagues still whispered about yesterday's incident, but Emily chose not to let it get to her. She focused on every detail, every line, and allowed herself to live each scene as if it were the first time, absorbing the story and purpose of her character.

By the end of the day, she felt a sense of accomplishment. The difficulties of the previous day seemed smaller in light of the progress she had made. She knew that, despite the tensions on set, there was something solid and true that motivated her to keep going. Thinking about the coffee with Matthew and the support he had offered her, she felt she could face any challenge that came her way.

After a long day of filming, Emily went straight to the entertainment company accompanied by Gabriela, her manager, for an important meeting. As she entered the modern, glass-enclosed building, Emily adjusted her blazer, trying to get her head around the next few hours. She knew that this meeting would define part of her public image and that it would involve not only the marketing team, but also some of the production company's directors.

Gabriela gave her an encouraging smile. "They'll love you. Remember: just be yourself and, of course, we'll see what they have to say about the next step."

"Thank you, Gabi," Emily replied, grateful for her manager's constant support.

As they entered the meeting room, a large, well-lit space with a large glass table in the center, they were greeted by a team of executives, including the marketing director, the head of public relations and the president of the film division. After formal introductions, the meeting began with the team discussing the impact that the filming of A Life of Questions was already generating on social media and in the press.

"Emily, you've become a household name, and honestly, this is one of the best career starts we could hope for," the PR head began, smiling. "So we're planning some strategies to further strengthen your public presence."

Emily nodded, while Gabriela cast a careful glance around the room. "And what strategies do you have in mind? Emily is still filming, so we need something that fits well with her schedule," Gabriela commented.

The marketing director gave a confident smile. "We want to make the most of the chemistry between Emily and the film. We thought about organizing her as a spokesperson for a public campaign in defense of press freedom, something that directly speaks to her character, Amara."

Emily thought about the idea. The message was powerful, and indeed something she felt she could represent authentically. Gabriela, however, asked for more details about the planned events.

"We're thinking about some public appearances, interviews, and a partnership with an investigative journalism organization," the marketing director continued. "Of course, the final word is yours, Emily, but we believe this will significantly expand your image."

Emily looked at Gabriela, who nodded slightly. "I think it would be a great way to engage and support a relevant cause," Emily said, determined.

The meeting continued with the executives discussing the agendas for upcoming interviews and publications. With each proposal, Emily felt the weight of expectations, but also a sense of responsibility that went beyond the screen. She knew that she now represented something bigger than just a role; she was also a public figure in the making.

After a final exchange of ideas and alignment of agendas, the meeting finally came to an end. As she left, Gabriela put a hand on Emily's shoulder and smiled proudly.

"You were amazing in there. Knowing how to balance pressure with authenticity is what will make the difference."

Emily smiled, feeling confident. "Thank you, Gabi. I don't know what I would do without you."

As they left the company, Emily reflected on the possibilities that now opened up.
