The soft hum of the evening air greeted Yoru as he stepped into the quiet apartment. His day at college had been long and uneventful, but he felt an immediate wave of warmth when he heard the familiar patter of bare feet approaching him.
"Master!" Aira's melodic voice called out as she bounded toward him, her black cat ears perking up with excitement. She launched herself into his arms, her small frame fitting perfectly against his chest as she clung to him.
Yoru barely had time to brace himself before Aira pressed her cheek against his, nuzzling him affectionately. Her tail swayed happily behind her, brushing against his arm.
"I missed you so much!" Aira giggled, her voice muffled as their cheeks remained pressed together.
Yoru chuckled softly, wrapping his arms around her to steady her. "Aira, I was only gone for a few hours."
