"Skills," Adam mumbled as the window changed again, revealing the skills he currently got.
[Skills
Computer Mastery: LV. MAX (useless)
Sword Mastery: LV. 1]
What the hell? Adam's expression became dark when he saw this. He had a skill that already reached the highest level, the max level, but the system actually said his mastery in this field was useless.
Adam could feel the silent mockery from the Anti-Death System, but he didn't have any complains. If that's what the system said, then whatever. He will just gain more skills later anyway. As for the Sword Mastery flashed below it, he did not know why it was here. He had never taken up a sword before, so why was it here?
Adam tried to tap one of the skills to see if anything would change and indeed, the window suddenly changed into something again.
[Computer Mastery LV. MAX (useless)
Able to operate practically every computer in existence. Does not work in current time period.]
Current time period? Adam furrowed his brows when he read this as he tried to think what was this about. Does that mean that the future time period of this world he was transported in, he would be able to use Computer Mastery? If that was the case, the he's probably…
"Is this the medieval period?"
Adam looked around as he slowly started to realize the style of architecture of the library. It was a huge place, and there ceilings looked intricate that those can only come from the medieval period. Probably. He was not so sure, as he was not well-versed in history and architecture, but it just looked exactly as it was.
"Hello, is there a problem?"
A sudden voice from behind him interrupted his thought and he stared at the source. It was a girl, she had brown hair and brown eyes, her cheeks looked plump. Her skin was slightly tanned, but it enhanced her overall beauty.
And so, Adam opened his mouth.
"Where am I?"
"Huh?" The brown-haired girl squeeked out a confused sound as she looked at him, not understanding what he meant by that.
"I am the not joking around, where the hell am I?" Adam icily said, unimpressed how slow the girl answered his questions.
"Uh…um," the brown-haired girl stammered, unable to comprehend what he was asking for, even when it was just a simple question. Thankfully, before Adam could say anything, she said, "Y-you are in the Ybbré General Library."
Ybbré? Adam narrowed his eyes, suddenly feeling the familiarity behind that name. When a thought came in his mind, Adam suddenly looked a bit surprised. If he was not wrong, Ybbré was a huge empire that had fallen in the past, birthing to smaller kingdoms that eventually led to the birth of his home country. It could be said that the Ybbré Empire was the origin of many countries in Adam's era.
What does this mean? This mean he just got transported to the past, a far past that whose history had lasted for a thousand years.
Since Ybbré still existed in this time period, that could only mean it was still at the midst of the medieval times. Kingdoms were still flouroshing. However, he did not know when exactly the Ybbré Empire will fall. He really hoped so that it wouldn't be right now. It could only mean many trouble for him, as the fall of this empire ignited a deadly war around the continent.
"Who is the reigning emperor of Ybbré right now?" Adam asked again, trying to confirm the exact time period. While he did not know the exact history of Ybbré and how it would fall, he still knew many details about it since it was taught at school, where his home country was actually placed at the former capital of Ybbré in the past.
"That would be Emperor Ouroboros who had claimed the crown 6 years ago," answered the girl, now a low calmer. However, she was deeply suspicious about how a clearly Ybbréan did not know where he was, or who the current rule of the Empire was. Did he lost his memory or something?
A mysterious light glinted on Adam's eyes. This looked…troublesome. Emperor Ouroboros, the last ruler of the empire and because of his actions in his last years in the throne, it led to a series of chain events that swiftly decided the fate of the empire. And his last years were only from the sixth to eighth year in his throne. Turbulent times was about to come, and the Trickster God actually sent him to one of the deadliest moments in the history of Ybbré.
When he thought of this, Adam inwardly cursed. That damned trickster transported him here, when the empire's history spanned for about 1200 years. That was a long time period, but he just decided to send him near the 1200th year.
"Okay, okay," Adam sighed as he nodded his head, rubbing his temples. He felt like his head was aching from all the revelation. This would be troublesome for him.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said Adam as he waved his hands, clearly not interested in talking to the girl any further. Even in modern standards, the girl looked beautiful, yes, but he was currently not interested in this as he had to think of a plan on how to survive this.
"But—"
"Just get out of my sight," Adam firmly interjected, not shouting at her but his voice extremely fierce.
"O-okay," the brown-haired girl said, nodding her head while going back to a nearby counter, clearly rejected. She was a librarian, Adam mused in interest.
Then, he turned back to the system window and opened the Inventory window, but it was completely empty so he just shrugged his shoulders and shifted his attention to the final one.
