Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 :"Whispers of the Void Era"

Chapter Title: "Whispers of the Void Era"

Tian Yu gently cradled the wolf pup in his arms, his mind still whirling from the recent revelations. His heart sank as the full weight of the pup's backstory and its mother's sacrifice hit him. The connection to the Void Era, the blood essence, the ancient battle between the primordial beast and the immortal cultivator—it was all too much to absorb at once. The world around him, the first Heaven, seemed both familiar and alien in the wake of these new truths.

As he gazed down at the tiny creature in his arms, the wolf pup's golden eyes fluttered open, and it gave a soft whimper, as if to confirm it was ready for the next step in its journey. Tian Yu smiled, brushing the soft fur of the pup's back.

"You are no ordinary creature, little one," he murmured, the realization settling deeper in his chest. He had a feeling this wasn't just the beginning of their bond; it was the beginning of something much greater.

But before Tian Yu could think further, the sound of rapid footsteps broke the silence of the forest. His senses sharpened, the instinctual alertness honed from his recent battles flaring to life. He quickly crouched down, concealing himself and the pup as best he could, ready for any danger that might approach.

Soon, a group of figures emerged from the dense woods. Tian Yu could see them clearly—a group of well-dressed individuals, their clothes marked with the insignia of a clan he hadn't encountered before. The leading figure was a young man, no older than sixteen or seventeen, with a proud stance and a haughty expression. His eyes, sharp and calculating, scanned the surroundings, stopping just short of Tian Yu's hiding place.

"Father said that the first Heaven is a good place to test my skills," the young man said with a sneer, "Let's see what kind of treasures or weaklings we can find here."

The others nodded, their gazes filled with arrogance. It was clear that they saw the realm of the first Heaven as nothing more than a playground, a place to hone their power while showing off their superiority.

Tian Yu's lip curled in disdain. He had faced many arrogant young masters before, each one believing they were the pinnacle of the cultivation world. But this young man was different—there was a dark aura about him, a presence that reminded Tian Yu of the battles he had fought against the magical beasts. This young man wasn't just arrogant; he was dangerous.

As Tian Yu prepared to move, the young man suddenly spoke again, his voice dripping with mockery. "Hmph, do you really think hiding in the shadows will make you safer? Come out, I want to see who dares to stalk the heir of the Heavenly Iron Clan."

Tian Yu's eyes narrowed, sensing that a confrontation was inevitable. Slowly, he stood, stepping out of the shadows and revealing himself to the group. The young man's eyes flashed with recognition, but there was no fear. Just amusement.

"A weakling like you? No matter where you come from, you'll still be crushed under the might of my clan," the young man said, his voice oozing with arrogance.

"Is that so?" Tian Yu replied coolly, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "It seems like you're the one in over your head."

The young man laughed, his laughter echoing through the clearing. "You think you can challenge me? Do you know who I am? I am Jiang Li, heir to the Heavenly Iron Clan. If you don't kneel before me and beg for mercy, I'll personally teach you the consequences of disrespecting a true genius."

Tian Yu's expression hardened, his gaze flickering down at the wolf pup. It had already fallen back to sleep in his arms, oblivious to the dangerous situation unfolding. But Tian Yu's resolve had already been set. He had no time for the arrogance of young masters or the empty threats of clans that relied on power inherited through blood.

"I don't have time for your games," Tian Yu said, his voice steady. "You'll regret underestimating me."

With that, he unsheathed his sword in one fluid motion, his aura bursting with qi. The air around him crackled with energy, and the ground beneath his feet trembled as the pressure from his sword caused a ripple in the space around them. Jiang Li's expression shifted, no longer amused. The pressure emanating from Tian Yu was palpable, and the young master instinctively took a step back.

"I'll show you the strength of a true heir!" Jiang Li roared, his hands moving in a series of intricate gestures. As he did, his aura flared to life, and a massive iron sword materialized above his head, crackling with power.

Tian Yu's eyes widened slightly. This wasn't just some cultivation technique—this was a manifestation of the Heavenly Iron Clan's signature weapon, the Iron Spirit Sword. It was a technique passed down through generations, said to be capable of cutting through mountains and obliterating enemies with a single swing.

Jiang Li swung the sword down toward Tian Yu, a massive shockwave of energy tearing through the forest. The trees around them were instantly uprooted, flying in every direction as the air itself seemed to warp under the force of the attack.

But Tian Yu didn't flinch. He raised his sword high, his qi flooding the blade as he poured his intent into it. A brilliant arc of light shot from the blade, meeting the descending sword head-on. The collision was deafening, sending shockwaves that cracked the earth beneath them. The surrounding trees were uprooted, the ground split wide open, and the air was filled with a fierce pressure that caused even the bravest of birds to flee in fear.

Jiang Li grunted, his feet sliding back as the power of the clash threw him off balance. Tian Yu, however, remained firm, his feet planted in the ground as his sword cleaved through the air. With a roar, he pushed forward, striking with a series of rapid slashes that forced Jiang Li to retreat.

"This... this is impossible!" Jiang Li gasped, his expression now a mix of disbelief and fury. He had expected Tian Yu to be no more than an insignificant opponent, someone he could crush with ease. But Tian Yu's strength was beyond anything he had anticipated.

Tian Yu pressed the attack, his blade flashing with blinding speed. The forest around them continued to tremble with every strike, the ground beneath them sinking deeper as their fight escalated. Sparks flew from the clashing blades, each strike leaving behind a trail of destruction.

Suddenly, Tian Yu's sword burst with a surge of energy, his qi converging into a single devastating slash. The attack was too fast for Jiang Li to dodge, and with a cry of surprise, the young master was thrown backward, his sword falling from his grip.

The forest around them was now a battlefield—trees were uprooted, the ground shattered, and the air was thick with the aftermath of their clash. Jiang Li lay on the ground, blood dripping from the gash across his chest, his face pale with shock and fear.

"You..." Jiang Li whispered, struggling to rise. "You're not just a weakling... you're a monster."

Tian Yu stood tall, his expression calm, though a dangerous glint lingered in his eyes. "Don't mistake me for someone you can trample on. If you value your life, leave now."

Jiang Li's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew when he was beaten. His clan was strong, but it would take more than a few insults to stop him from advancing.

"You'll regret this," he spat, before turning and signaling for his subordinates to retreat.

As they fled, Tian Yu's gaze shifted to the pup in his arms, which had awoken and was now watching the scene with curious eyes. Tian Yu smiled softly, stroking its fur. "Looks like we're going to have a lot more trouble ahead, little one."

The wolf pup gave a soft growl, its golden eyes gleaming with an intelligence far beyond its size. This was just the beginning.
