Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 :"Echoes of the Void"

Chapter Title: "Echoes of the Void"

As the dust settled, the echoes of the battle between Tian Yu and Jiang Li lingered in the air, the forest now a testament to their destructive clash. The ground was scarred, the trees splintered, and the once peaceful clearing was now a battleground marked by the aftermath of their violent exchange.

Tian Yu stood still, his breathing steady, his eyes never leaving the retreating figures of Jiang Li and his subordinates. Despite the fact that victory was his, there was no sense of triumph in his heart—just a lingering unease. The clash had been intense, but it was only a glimpse of what lay ahead.

The wolf pup in his arms wiggled slightly, its golden eyes still wide with curiosity. Tian Yu had the distinct feeling that the pup was sensing something beyond the immediate environment. It was as though it could feel the hidden forces that now stirred in the world, forces that would bring about chaos and change in the coming days. He couldn't shake the feeling that this was no ordinary beast—its presence seemed to resonate with something ancient, something far beyond the scope of the first Heaven.

With a soft sigh, Tian Yu adjusted the wolf pup in his arms, trying to ease the weight of his thoughts. There was a reason this pup had appeared before him, a reason it had crossed his path at this very moment. As much as he wanted to focus on the immediate threats and challenges, he knew the connection between them went deeper—perhaps even to the forgotten era that the system had hinted at: the Void Era.

"Come, little one," he muttered to the wolf pup, his voice soft yet resolute. "Let's find shelter for the night. We need to be ready for what's coming."

He turned and began to move deeper into the forest, hoping to find a quiet place where they could rest and plan their next move. As they ventured forward, Tian Yu couldn't help but reflect on the strange turn of events—the appearance of the wolf pup, the battle with Jiang Li, and the cryptic clues that pointed toward a world far greater than he could have ever imagined.

Meanwhile, not far from Tian Yu's position, Jiang Li and his entourage were still retreating, their steps hurried and filled with frustration. Jiang Li's chest heaved with each breath, his injuries stinging as he gripped his side. His arrogance had cost him dearly, and now, he found himself filled with both rage and fear.

"How could this be?" Jiang Li growled, clutching his side as he staggered forward. "That weakling—he's far stronger than he appeared! The Heavenly Iron Clan has never faced someone like him before."

One of Jiang Li's subordinates, a young man with a nervous expression, approached cautiously. "Young Master Jiang... what should we do? Should we send for reinforcements?"

Jiang Li paused, glaring at the sky above, his mind racing with thoughts of revenge. "No," he muttered darkly. "That was just a fluke. Next time, I'll crush him with my own hands. He'll regret ever crossing me."

But deep down, Jiang Li couldn't shake the gnawing feeling of fear. Tian Yu had shattered his confidence, and now, he was left questioning his own strength. His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden, cold breeze that swept through the forest, carrying with it an eerie sense of foreboding.

As night fell, the moon hung high in the sky, casting its pale light over the forest floor. The shadows seemed to stretch longer, the wind whispering through the trees as if it carried ancient secrets. Tian Yu and the wolf pup found a secluded cave nestled in the side of a hill, sheltered from the wind and the dangers of the night.

The wolf pup curled up at his feet, its soft breathing steady as it drifted off to sleep. Tian Yu sat down against the cave wall, his mind still preoccupied with the mysteries that had unfolded over the past few hours. He needed answers. Why had the primordial wolf appeared to him? And why was its mother willing to sacrifice herself to protect it?

The system's words echoed in his mind: "Divine soul gaze activated. Information unlocked. Primordial Lunar Wolf Deity... Bloodline of the Void Era... The Era of Gods and Demons."

Tian Yu clenched his fists, a mixture of determination and confusion building within him. The Void Era—was that the key to everything? Could his connection with the wolf pup be the catalyst that would lead him to uncover the truth? He didn't know, but he was certain of one thing: the path ahead would be fraught with dangers, mysteries, and enemies far stronger than the arrogant young masters of the Heavenly Iron Clan.

The next day, Tian Yu set out with the wolf pup by his side, leaving the cave behind as they journeyed deeper into the heart of the first Heaven. He knew the challenges would only grow tougher from here, but he was no longer afraid. With the wolf pup by his side, he felt an unwavering sense of purpose.

As they trekked through the dense forest, the air grew heavier with the scent of ancient magic. The trees around them seemed to whisper, and the landscape shifted subtly as they walked, as if the land itself was alive and aware of their presence.

It wasn't long before they reached a clearing—a place where the air hummed with power. At the center of the clearing was a large stone monument, covered in ancient runes. The runes glowed faintly in the dim light, as if waiting for someone to unlock their secrets. Tian Yu felt an overwhelming pull toward the monument, a sense of recognition deep within him.

He stepped forward cautiously, his heart racing. As his hand touched the monument, the runes flared to life, sending a pulse of energy through his body. He staggered back, feeling the surge of power fill him, as if something long dormant inside him was awakening.

Suddenly, the air around him seemed to crackle with energy. From the shadows of the trees, figures began to emerge—shadowy figures, their faces hidden by dark hoods, their auras pulsing with dangerous intent.

One of the figures stepped forward, his voice deep and gravelly. "You are the one... the one chosen by the Primordial Lunar Wolf Deity. We've been watching you."

Tian Yu's eyes narrowed, his hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of his sword. "Who are you?"

The figure chuckled, a low, haunting sound. "We are the Shadow Sect. And we've been waiting for the day when the Void Era would return."

Tian Yu felt a chill run down his spine. The Void Era... the legends were true. It was coming.

To be continued...
