Chapter 3 - The Night of Cultivation

As twilight descended, painting the sky in shades of deep blue and violet, Lin Tian found himself in his secluded abode, the atmosphere charged with anticipation. The scrolls containing the Shadow Blade and Ghost Step lay open before him, their teachings beckoning him to begin.

Taking a deep breath, he settled into a meditative position, closing his eyes to focus his mind. The faint glow of the Celestial Vein on his chest pulsed gently, a reminder of the untapped power within him. With clear intention, he directed his thoughts toward the first technique he would practice: Shadow Blade.

Visualizing the movements described in the scroll, Lin Tian began to channel his energy using the clan's core technique, Mystic Flame. As he cultivated, he felt the flame Qi in his surroundings respond to his will, flowing into him and creating a warm sensation throughout his meridians. This comforting warmth enhanced his physical strength and agility, allowing him to push further into his training.

Each strike of his sword was deliberate, mimicking the speed and precision that the Shadow Blade demanded. At first, the motions felt clumsy, but with each repetition, he found a rhythm—a dance between himself and the blade.

Hours slipped away as Lin Tian practiced diligently, the moonlight casting silver beams through his window. The sound of steel slicing through the air filled the room, echoing the resolve in his heart. As he honed the Shadow Blade, he focused on pushing his limits, ensuring each movement was executed with perfection.

Suddenly, he felt a flicker of energy surge through him, igniting a fire of determination. Breakthrough, he thought, sensing he was on the verge of something greater. His movements became more fluid, his strikes faster. The air around him crackled with energy as he cultivated late into the night.

Fueled by the Mystic Flame, Lin Tian felt a powerful force envelop him, urging him to break through to the second level of the Body Refining Realm. The intensity of his training sharpened his focus, and the glow from the Celestial Vein intensified, illuminating the room with a soft, ethereal light.

As the first rays of dawn crept into the room, Lin Tian finally opened his eyes, breathless and exhilarated. He could feel the change within himself—a subtle yet profound enhancement in his physical capabilities. He had succeeded in breaking through to Body Refining Level 2.

"I've taken my first step," he whispered, a smile breaking across his face.

With the dawn marking a new day, Lin Tian felt a renewed sense of purpose. He began to adjust to his new strength, testing his movements and reveling in the increased power coursing through him. With each passing night, he would continue to refine his techniques and embrace the potential that lay within him.

The next day dawned with a fresh energy, and Lin Tian awoke determined to push his limits further. He began his practice, the movements of the Shadow Blade flowing with increasing fluidity. As he trained, he felt a shift within himself, a sensation that he was drawing closer to Entry in the technique. Excitement surged through him, but he knew the journey was not yet complete.

After some time, Lin Tian paused, wiping the sweat from his brow. He understood that to achieve a breakthrough, he would need an external factor—something to catalyze his progress. Thoughts of exploration filled his mind.

The deep ravine forests beckoned to him, their mysteries promising adventure and potential challenges. However, he was also keenly aware of the dangers that lurked within. Even the weakest beasts in those forests were known to be equivalent to Level 4 Body Refining Warriors, their tough hides and various attributes making them formidable opponents.

With a deep breath, Lin Tian decided it was best to seek counsel from his father, Lin Wei. As the clan head, his father commanded respect and authority, and at the mid Spirit Condensation Realm, he was a figure of great strength and wisdom.

Making his way to the clan's main hall, Lin Tian reflected on his father's presence. Lin Wei, with his majestic demeanor and striking appearance, looked as though he were in his 30s, a testament to the longevity of Spirit Condensation cultivators. As he approached, Lin Tian's heart raced with anticipation.

Entering the hall, Lin Wei looked up from his scrolls, a warm smile breaking across his face. "Ah, my son! What brings you here this morning?" His voice was rich and inviting.

"Father," Lin Tian began, "I've been making progress with my training in the Shadow Blade. I feel I'm close to Entry, but I'll need an external factor to break through. I was thinking of exploring the deep ravine forests, but I'll need spirit stones to prepare adequately."

Lin Wei's expression shifted to one of concern, the hint of a frown forming. "The deep ravine forests are not to be taken lightly, Lin Tian. Many have underestimated the beasts there. Are you sure this is the path you wish to take?"

"I understand the risks, but I believe the challenge will be beneficial for my growth," Lin Tian replied, determination shining in his eyes.

After a moment of contemplation, Lin Wei nodded slowly. "Very well. Your growth is important, but remember to be cautious. I will give you 100 mid-grade spirit stones. Use them wisely."

With that, Lin Wei reached into his robe and produced a small pouch, handing it to Lin Tian. The weight of the stones inside felt reassuring, a promise of the adventures that lay ahead.

"Thank you, Father," Lin Tian said, his heart swelling with gratitude. "I will make you proud."

"Stay safe, my son. Return with new skills and knowledge," Lin Wei encouraged, a proud smile returning to his face.

Lin Tian left the hall, the pouch of spirit stones clutched tightly in his hand. With a newfound sense of purpose, he made his way to the Myriad Pavilion, a mysterious and grand organization with branches spread across the continent.

He knew that there, he would find not only supplies but perhaps valuable information and allies for his journey into the deep ravine forests.

As he stepped through the gates of the Myriad Pavilion, he could feel the weight of possibilities pressing down upon him, ready to shape his destiny.
