As I opened my eyes the first thing that I heard was the desperate cries of my manager urging me to wake up.
"Ash you sleepyhead, you have to wake up or else you'll be late for your appointment!!"
When I heard her say "appointment " I suddenly jolted awake
right, today was "THE DAY " how can I forget? damn it! I have to hurry or else they'll find a new replacement.
I don't even care about that stupid script or whatsoever, but my manager will go histerical if I did a half-assed job in grabbing it. I hurriedly ran to the bathroom to get ready and totally forgot about the banging sound at the door made by my poor manager.
I arrived at the company building just right in time and felt relieved that I made it phew that was close, I thought my ears would bleed, my manager keep on scolding me since this morning. It's not that I didn't try to wake up early but, it's just that I kept on having this weird dreams lately and waking up swollen from crying, I don't even remember the dream when I wake up and it's making me frustrated.
"Ashler! ASHLERRRRR!!!"
Flinch "f*ck, don't shout at my ear!"
"I've been calling you for five times already and you won't even respond. Why are you so absentminded? and mind what you say mister, don't forget that someone might hear you."
"Yes, yes, so stop nagging me. I've had enough of your nagging for today."
As you can see I'm a model, a very famous one and this is the thing that I like doing the most. Except for the packed schedule that makes me tired, I love my job, really love my job...
"You have been invited to Mr. Kwon's birthday party this weekend. Your suit is already prepared and we'll depart early since I have to drive you there and I don't want us to be stuck in traffic. And next week..."
I didn't pay attention to his rambling instead, I keep on thinking about the dream. I tried every method there is to stop it but none of it worked. It's like there's a part of me that wants me to remember but also a part of me that don't want to remember at all, it's frustrating, really.
"...you will also attend this year's hunter banquet, it will be 2 months from today so you must take care of your body."
"What? it's that time fo the year already?"
"Yes. And why are you so surprised? you always attend this type of event and I'm just reminding you of it."
"But I don't really want to go..."
"Is it because of 'him' ?"
He's right, I don't want to go to that shitty event because of that bastard. This started last year when I attended the Hunter's Party. There's always new hunters that's awakening around the country and it's really rare for someone to awaken when they became an adult so there's always new faces when I attend the party but that specific year is the most annoying of all. It's not just because of the noisy chatter of the Hunters that attended, but it's because of someone that approached me that evening and made a huge fuss about making me his partner. He was rejected of course, but he just won't stop pestering me after that night, he kept on sending me flowers and chocolates, but that's not the point here, the point here is that he's clearly not that interested in me because everyone knew that he's a cheater, he goes around flirting with everyone he saw attractive.
What is he? a high school student? it's a annoying, so I always tell my manager to send it back to where it belong or throw it in the trash and tell him that he didn't receive it, I don't want to owe someone especially if that someone is a hunter and a piece of job.
"You can't. But if you want, you can just show yourself and leave immediately."
"Can I really?"
"Of course, it's not like you're a hunter, we made you attend this event because it will boost your popularity and I'm also annoyed by that hunter's persistence, he's so clingy and if you didn't give him what he wants he will pester you and it's hard stopping the media from publishing scandals. so, it's better to stay away from him, to avoid having a scandal."
Kyro Kim, he's my manager since 4 years ago and he's also my best friend since highschool.
"You really are my light, Kyro. You shine the most that it almost blind me."
"Please don't say something goosebumps inducing, Mr. Ashler."
"Aww... party pooper"
Kyro is really smart, he's the only person who I considered as my family since the death of the parents. I don't even want to attend this party, the hunter's that attend this party are so d*mn boastful, it ticked me off.
Two months has passed and the time for the party to start is nearing. As I was getting ready, the staff approached my manager and whispered something to his ear. I was curious so I asked the manager what it is but he just said that it was nothing with a frown on his face.
As Ashler entered the vicinity he was surprised to hear someone announced his presence
D*mn it, why is there an announcer? there's not even an announcer from the previous year.
He suddenly remembered the face his manager made earlier, and now he knows what the staff told his manager and that made his blood boil.
Agh it's so annoying!
I put up a fake smile to hide my annoyed face.
All eyes are on me now... what should I do?
Even for a famous person who's been seen by many people, the stares of so many hunters will make you feel small.
I think I'm gonna have a stomachache.
The event continued without someone bothering Ashler.
Well even though I'm famous because of my face and talent, I'm also famous for being short-tempered, I think that's why they won't approach me easily.
They just casually glimpsed at him while others tried to greet him.
As the speech of the person on the stage are ending, Ashler hurriedly excused himself and ran to the bathroom. Guess luck was not on his side, because as he opened the bathroom door, he was shocked to see Vince, the one he's avoiding the most standing there holding a cigarette.
