"Drip drip drip!"
The early morning alarm bell woke up Ron, who was still asleep.
Ron snapped his eyes wide open, then sat up and stroked himself.
Then glanced at his surroundings.
The familiar single bed, the slightly messy apartment suite, and the warm morning sun.
"I'm alive?"
"Shouldn't I be dead in a pile of zombies?"
Ron looked at his intact and sound hands and feet and spoke in surprise.
He clearly remembered being surrounded by a bunch of walkers before he lost consciousness.
He could only watch as his hands and feet were gnawed on, and even his internal organs were pulled out.
But now he was alive and intact.
Everything was like a dream.
Afterwards, Ron took out his cell phone and glanced at the time.
2024, November, 21st, 5:30pm.
Looking at the time on his cell phone, Ron frowned slightly.
He clearly remembered that the end of the world came on December 21, 2024.
Yes, a full twelve years later than the damn Mayan prophecy.
When the end of the world descended, those who had the Doomsday Virus hidden in their bodies turned into zombies and began to indiscriminately attack ordinary humans in the neighborhood.
Humans who were bitten were either eaten or assimilated into mindless walking corpses.
As a large number of zombies had also appeared within the human army, this left them with no time to care about others.
Ron was very lucky and didn't carry the Doomsday Virus, but he survived the Doomsday for only two weeks before dying in the mouths of the damn zombies.
Because the doomsday came so suddenly, everyone had no time to prepare in advance.
So much so that food, water and other important supplies were very scarce.
Although Ron's home had some food, it was only enough for him to eat for three days, and after three days he had to go out and face the zombies.
Finding food in the dangerous post-apocalyptic world was very difficult.
Eventually he collapsed outdoors from exhaustion due to too much hunger and a long time without hydration.
The incapacitated Ron was a delicious meal in the eyes of the zombies.
And that's how he ended his young life.
"Since I've been reborn, I should do something."
Ron said with firm eyes.
He then reached out and touched the cross necklace on his chest.
This cross necklace was the only thing his mother had left him before she died.
It was said to have God's blessings on it.
And that was indeed the case.
Looking at the golden cross in his hand, Ron's god fell into a memory.
He then bit his own finger and dropped a drop of bright red blood onto the cross.
In the next moment, a light as dazzling as day emanated from within the cross.
Immediately afterward, it was as if Ron saw the vastness of the starry sky within the cross.
"Sure enough, all this is not a dream!"
Looking at the cross that was emitting a strange light, the corners of Ron's mouth could not help but rise.
The strangeness of the cross made him even more certain that everything was not a dream.
A month later, the end would indeed come!
The world would come to an end, and this cross, could lead himself to live!
Inside the cross, there was an infinite storage space.
One could put everything except living things into it.
And in his last life, Ron didn't know the usefulness of the cross, and when he was out looking for food, he exchanged the cross for a slice of moldy bread from his neighbor, Mr. Smith.
Later, because of a coincidence, Mr. Smith happened to drop blood on the cross, opening the cross's storage space.
When Ron knew about this, the cross, however, no longer belonged to him.
He regretted very much that he exchanged such a valuable cross for a slice of moldy bread that made him vomit and have diarrhea.
It was good that in his second life, he would not do that kind of stupid thing again.
Now that the storage function of the cross had been turned on, and that he still had a month to stock up on supplies.
This time, one must survive in the midst of the apocalypse, and even ...
rebuild human civilization!
Ron squeezed the cross in his hand tightly and thought in his heart.
"Knock knock knock!"
Just at this moment, the door of the apartment was knocked at an inopportune time.
Ron was slightly stunned.
Very surprised, who would come to find himself this early in the morning?
After all, it was only 5:45, ordinary people should still be resting at this time.
And he didn't remember anyone ever looking for him on this day in his previous life.
Still, he opened his apartment door.
"Hi, good morning Ron."
Outside the door, a beautiful young lady was smiling and greeting Ron.
The woman had long blonde hair and a white halter neckline tank top squeezing her ample breasts.
Most of her breasts were exposed to Ron's eyes.
Underneath was a pair of denim shorts that were short to the base of her thighs.
It looked very sexy.
"Ms. Liza? What's the matter with you?"
Ron looked at the woman in front of him and raised his eyebrows, somewhat curious about the other party's origin.
Liza was a classmate of his own in college, and was a veritable school flower during his college days, with many people adoring her.
However, Ron did not have many interactions with her.
After graduation, Ron lived in his current apartment in search of work, and Liza, quite coincidentally, lived just above him.
After the end of the world, when the survivors of this apartment building gathered together, Ron did meet Liza.
At that time, Liza was very down and out, and because of the lack of food and water, her whole body had lost a lot of weight.
But what happened to Liza afterward, Ron was not sure.
But why would Liza come to herself so early in the morning?
"That ... I remember you have a cross necklace right?"
Liza bit her lip and spoke hesitantly.
Ron was shocked when he heard this.
Since this necklace was a relic left to him by his mother, he rarely took it out.
Even among his college classmates, no one knew that he had this necklace to be right!
The fact that Liza inquired about the necklace right off the bat made Ron wary.
"Yes."
Ron tried to keep himself calm and nodded in reply.
"I really like that necklace, can you sell it to me?"
"I'm willing to pay any amount of money!"
Liza's eyes lit up when she heard that, then she said excitedly.
