Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Shelter

"What's the trouble?"

Ron asked in a hurry with a slight frown.

There was now less than a month before the end came.

There was not much time left for him to build a shelter.

"My team is all in the field, and it will take some time to try to reorganize my team here."

Alan said after thinking about it.

Trying to build a shelter of this size would require a lot of manpower and resources.

"This is fine, let them all fly over, I'll cover the round trip airfare!"

Ron said in a very atmospheric manner.

Now but any trouble that could be solved with money was not considered trouble.

Ron couldn't wait to spend all the money in his hands as soon as possible.

Moreover, the workers were all outsiders, which could avoid some unnecessary trouble.

If local workers were hired, once the end broke out, those workers would remember Ron's refuge.

They would most likely come and grab the refuge.

Coupled with the fact that they were the builders and were very familiar with the refuge, this was very unfavorable to Ron.

While utilizing field workers there was no such trouble.

After the construction was completed, Ron would send these workers away as soon as possible.

Thousands of kilometers apart, even if these workers wanted to rob Ron's refuge, they wouldn't be able to return!

"Are you sure? This is a lot of expenses!"

Alan said with some surprise.

Although he knew that Ron had inherited his family's legacy, he hadn't thought that Ron would actually be so generous with his money.

For a dozens of engineering team, the money for the round trip airfare was not a small amount.

The engineering bosses that Alan had met before were stingy and couldn't wait to save some money on materials.

It was the first time he had seen one who spent money recklessly like Ron.

"I have plenty of money now, you don't have to worry about funding."

"I only have one request, and that is that the shelter must be built within a month."

Ron said seriously.

If the money wasn't enough, he could go and borrow from other gangsters, or even run to the outer states for a loan.

However, the time left for him was very tight.

"It's a bit of a rush if it's a month, but as long as you have enough funds, you should be in time."

Alan stroked his chin and said.

It was now the high-tech era, and the efficiency of constructing a building was greatly improved.

If Ron was willing to increase the money, he could even have the workers work in three shifts, day and night, to catch up with the schedule.

This way, building the shelter within a month shouldn't be a problem.

"Then please!"

"I'll give you a million dollars upfront, and you bring the team here as soon as possible."

Ron patted Allen's shoulder and said with a smile.

While Allen was forming his team, Ron had just the right amount of time to pick the location of the shelter.

"No... can't use that much!"

Hearing this, Allen quickly waved his hand and said.

One million dollars was too much, and if he formed a team, he wouldn't be able to use that much money at all.

"This will be taken as a deposit, you take it first and use it, if it's not enough then ask me for it."

Ron shrugged and said.

"You are really a good boss, if only my previous engineering boss was as generous as you."

Alan said with a smile.

...

After parting ways with Alan, Ron drove to the rental company once again.

He wanted to choose an excellent shelter location for himself.

Of course, compared to buying a house, renting a house was more cost-effective.

After all, when the end came in a month, no one would even come to you to collect rent.

So there was no need to spend a lot of money on a house.

The large sum of money saved could be completely used to build a shelter.

"Oh, esteemed Mr. Ron, long time no see!"

Sophia, the receptionist, greeted Ron enthusiastically after seeing him.

This was a big client of the company, she didn't dare to be slow.

"Long time no see Ms. Sophia."

Ron nodded and said.

"Is there something wrong over at the warehouse?"

Sophia said with a slight smile.

Logically speaking, Ron had only rented the warehouse two days ago and wouldn't have come to her so quickly, unless there was some problem on the warehouse side.

"No, your warehouse is fine, the main reason I'm here this time is to rent another house in the suburbs."

Ron stated his purpose.

When he was renting a warehouse earlier, he noticed that this company also had a service for renting houses, so he purposely came to take a look.

"Oh, choosing us is your best decision!"

"There are many customers who like to rent villas from us for parties!"

Sofia's eyes lit up when she heard this.

Not only was Ron not here to cause trouble, he was instead here to deliver results!

She hurriedly invited Ron to the reception room and then took out an atlas and sent it to Ron's hands.

The atlas had many villas in the suburbs.

"Mr. Ron, allow me to introduce you to this lakeside villa, it's right next to the lake with a beautiful scenery, very suitable for living in while on vacation."

Sofia pointed at a lakeside villa in the atlas and introduced it.

But Ron shook his head and said, "This is not what I want."

The lakeside villa was indeed beautiful, but precisely because it was next to a lake, once the doomsday broke out, water resources became extremely precious.

At that time, there would definitely be survivors who would come to this lake to obtain water.

And the villa by the lake would naturally become the landing point for these survivors.

Ron did not want his refuge to be disturbed by too many people.

So the lakeside villa was definitely not the best choice.

"Then this lawn villa you will definitely like, the villa is built on a vast grassy area, you can lie on the grass anytime you want to feel the nature."

Sofia said as she pointed to another villa with a beautiful view.

"This one won't work either."

Ron still shook his head.

The lawn view was too open, and the villa's location could easily be noticed.

It wasn't the best choice.

Sophia then introduced all the villas in the atlas for Ron.

But Ron was not satisfied with any of them.

All of these villas had one characteristic, which was a beautiful environment, but easy to expose.

"I'm sorry Mr. Ron, I didn't find the villa you needed, you can tell me your needs and I'll keep an eye out for you."

Sophia said with a sigh.

She hadn't expected Ron to be so picky.

"I want a quieter villa that won't be disturbed, and it's best if it's not easy to be found."

Ron said after some thought.

"Your requirements are really special, but I think there should be a house that meets your requirements."

"Please wait for me for a while."

Sophia looked like she had thought of something and then left her seat.

Shortly afterward she walked back with a document.

"This is a forest villa located more than seventy kilometers away from the city center."

"The owners of this villa are an old couple, a year ago they started traveling around the world and left the villa in our custody."

"But since the villa was built in the middle of a dense forest, the scenery was bad and there wasn't much to play with, resulting in no one wanting to rent it, so we removed the villa from the atlas."

Sofia opened the file and brought the picture of the forest villa to Ron.

Ron's eyes lit up as he looked at the picture of the villa wrapped in a forest.

"I want it!"
