The rest of the event went very similar to what I remember from the show. The Borg ship protected voyager from the species 8472 attack after Janeway negotiated a deal. Janeway was knocked out and the borg took over cargobay 2.
Chakotay was in charge and was breaking the deal when the ship was pulled into fluidic space as he purged all drones but seven of nine.
The weapons proved effective and the ship escaped. Seven tried to assimilate the ship and was knocked out.
As she where disconnected from the Collective her implants started to fail and had to be removed. That was over two weeks ago.
She is now asked for a duty assignment and is working in engineering. B'elanna was already in a horrible mood and having to deal with Seven didn't exactly help.
The rest of the engineering staff are at best hesitant and distant. With a total of five eyes, three of which are in basically stalks its easy to observe without being noticed, even when working on trying to hunt down a glitch in a power relay on deck five.
Another of my 'training assignments'. If I was actually there it would be easier, but no, I have to do it via the computer....and now B'Elanna are blaming every action of The Borg on Seven. To her face.
I could go over there and interrupt but B'Elanna 'is' my direct superior even if I'm not technically in the chain of command. Somehow I don't think telling her she is acting like a spoiled brat to her face would be very diplomatic...and with the way she is acting it might end up with me in sickbay.
And then its to late and she drive Seven out from engineering.
I frown and try to focus on my task as the antimatter reaction called B'Elanna stand fuming next to the warpcore. This will not due.
If the behavior against Seven of Nine persist I'm going to need to take things up with the Captain. It is understandable people are hesitant, but open hostility will not help.
A few hours later I run out of engineering as the tachyon flow in the warpcore from a failed attempt to open a transwarp conduit set of a cascade failure. Ten seconds later Tom and B'Elanna dodge out as well, seconds before the doors close and the warpcore eject.
I just thud my head softly against the bulkhead as I hear the kachunk of the warpcore ejecting into space, falling out of the active warpfield and ending up millions of kilometers away.
All I can think of is all the time I'm going to end up spending in Jefferies tubes in the future to help clean this sodding mess up.
