Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 Exhaustion

Thomas stood in the center of the stage. The surrounding applause and cheers gradually faded away, replaced by a deep sense of exhaustion. He had just won the final and become the champion of the academy competition, but his body and spirit had reached their limits. He knew that this victory was hard-won and it had consumed all his energy.

He slowly walked off the stage. Each step seemed extremely heavy. Ms. Alison and Jack immediately came up to him. Their faces were filled with pride and joy, but Thomas could only force a smile. His body was telling him that he needed rest.

"You did very well, Thomas." Ms. Alison's voice was full of tenderness and care. "But now, you need to rest."

Jack supported Thomas. They returned to the dormitory together. Thomas lay on the bed and closed his eyes, but his brain couldn't stop working. His thoughts lingered in every detail of the competition, from every chanting of incantations to every casting of magic.

As night deepened, the dormitory was silent. Thomas lay on the bed but he couldn't sleep. His body was in pain and his thoughts were spinning. He began to question himself whether all this was worth it. He had put in so much effort for victory, but now he felt a kind of emptiness.

"Thomas, are you still thinking about the competition?" Jack's voice rang out in the darkness. There was a hint of worry in his voice.

Thomas turned his head and looked at Jack. "Yes, I... I just feel a bit tired."

Jack sat up. There was understanding in his eyes. "I know how you feel, Thomas. But you have to know that you have already done very well. Now, you need to rest and let your body and mind recover."

Thomas nodded. He knew that Jack was right. He closed his eyes and tried to relax his body and empty his thoughts. He knew that he needed to recover for the upcoming challenges.

The next day, when Thomas woke up, the sunlight shone on his face through the window. He felt a bit relaxed, but the exhaustion still lingered in his body. He knew that he needed time to recover.

Ms. Alison came to visit him. She brought some recovery potions and nutritious food. "Thomas, you need to take good care of yourself." She said. "Your body and spirit both need time to recover."

Thomas nodded. He knew that Ms. Alison's words were full of wisdom. He began to take the potions and eat nutritious food according to her suggestions and slowly recover his physical strength.

In the following days, Thomas slowed down his training rhythm. He began to spend more time reading in the library and learning new magic knowledge instead of constantly practicing. He found that this way of learning made him feel more fulfilled and calm.

His classmates also gave him great support. They invited him to participate in various activities in the academy and let him recover his energy in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Thomas began to realize that in addition to magic training, there were many other beautiful things in life.

As time passed, Thomas's sense of exhaustion gradually subsided. His body and spirit began to recover and he felt a new vitality. He knew that he was ready to face new challenges.

During an afternoon walk, Thomas and Jack walked together in the garden of the academy. They talked about future dreams and plans as well as past experiences and lessons.

"Thomas, you have really grown a lot." Jack looked at Thomas. There was admiration in his eyes. "I know that no matter what the future holds, you will be able to face it bravely."

Thomas smiled. His heart was full of gratitude. He knew that his growth came not only from his own efforts but also from the support and help of his friends.

He looked up at the sky. The sunlight was warm and bright. He knew that his magical journey was far from over, but he was ready. No matter how difficult the road ahead was, he would move forward bravely.
