Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Strategy

Thomas's victory made him famous in the academy, but he didn't have time to immerse himself in the joy of victory. The opponent in the next match was stronger, a magic apprentice known for his strategies and stratagems. Thomas knew that he needed a detailed plan to deal with the upcoming challenge.

He returned to his room, closed the door, and cut off the noise from the outside world. There was a huge competition schedule hanging on the wall, marked with the names of his upcoming opponents and their past competition records. Thomas sat at his desk, holding a quill pen, and began to formulate his strategy.

He reviewed his opponent's past matches, trying to find patterns and weaknesses. He knew that every detail could be the key, and every small movement could hide the opponent's intention.

As night deepened, the light in the library seemed格外 dim. Thomas sat there, flipping through ancient magic books, looking for incantations and magics that might give him an advantage. His eyes quickly scanned the pages, and from time to time he took notes in his notebook.

"Thomas, are you still researching?" Jack's voice rang out at the library entrance. He was holding an oil lamp in his hand, and his face showed a concerned expression.

Thomas looked up and smiled slightly. "Yes, I need to find something new." Jack walked up to Thomas and looked at the books in front of him. "You've done very well. Don't be too tired."

Thomas shook his head. "I know, but I can't be careless. My opponent is very strong."

Jack nodded understandingly. He knew Thomas's determination. He put down the oil lamp and sat opposite Thomas. "Then, let me help you."

For the next few hours, the two of them studied magic books together and discussed possible tactics. Although Jack was not a participant, his insights and suggestions were very valuable to Thomas.

The next day, Thomas found Ms. Alison and showed her his plan. Ms. Alison listened carefully, nodding from time to time or asking questions.

"Your plan is very creative, Thomas." Ms. Alison said. "But remember, there will always be surprises in the competition. You need to be ready to adjust your strategy at any time."

Thomas nodded seriously. "I will, Ms. Alison."

As the competition day approached, Thomas began to practice his strategy in training. He tried different combinations of incantations and looked for the best casting sequence. He knew that he needed to maintain his attack power while also being flexible and adaptable.

In one training session, Thomas's opponent suddenly changed tactics, which caught Thomas off guard. He quickly adjusted his strategy and finally successfully defused the opponent's offensive.

"Very good, Thomas." Ms. Alison said after the training. "You showed good adaptability."

Thomas wiped the sweat from his forehead. His heart was filled with a sense of accomplishment. He knew that his strategy was gradually being perfected, and he was more confident in his abilities.

However, Thomas was not complacent because of this. He knew that the real challenge was still ahead. He continued to study, train, and constantly improve his tactics.

The day of the competition finally arrived. Thomas stood on the stage. His opponent was already ready on the opposite side. The gazes of the two met in the air, both full of firmness and determination.

As the host gave the order, the competition began. Thomas quickly launched his first wave of offensive. His opponent was not to be outdone and immediately launched a counterattack.

The magics of the two collided in the air, producing dazzling light. The audience held their breath and watched intently. They knew that this would be a wonderful duel.

Thomas's strategy began to take effect. His every attack was precise and powerful, and every defense was timely and effective. Although his opponent was strong, Thomas was more fully prepared.

As the competition progressed, Thomas gradually gained the upper hand. His opponent began to feel the pressure, and his attacks became more and more impatient. Finally, in a wonderful duel, Thomas successfully defeated his opponent and won the competition. The audience burst into warm applause and cheers. They cheered for Thomas's performance.

Thomas walked off the stage. His heart was filled with joy and pride. He knew that his victory was not only due to his strength but also because of his strategy and preparation.

Ms. Alison and Jack were waiting for him backstage. Smiles were on their faces.

"You did very well, Thomas." Ms. Alison said. "Your strategy was very successful."

"Yes, you are amazing!" Jack excitedly patted Thomas on the shoulder.

Thomas smiled. His heart was full of gratitude. He knew that he still had a long way to go, but he had taken a solid first step.
