Competition Begins
Chapter One: Preparing for Battle
The morning breeze carried a hint of coolness and blew over the high towers and winding corridors of the academy. Thomas stood by the window, looking at the distant mountains, his heart filled with longing for the future and nervousness about the upcoming academy competition. He knew that this competition would be an excellent opportunity for him to prove his strength and also a stage for him to show his magical innovations.
In his room, magic books were piled up like mountains. The covers of each book glimmered with mysterious light. These books were the results of his research in the past few months. Each page recorded his understanding and exploration of magic. He deeply knew that in order to stand out in the competition, he must have unique insights and innovative magic.
Thomas turned and walked towards his workbench, where various magic materials and tools were placed. He began to prepare for today's training. Every movement of his seemed focused and meticulous. He knew that every detail might affect the result of the competition.
"Thomas, are you ready?" Ms. Alison's voice came from the door. Her eyes sparkled with expectation.
Thomas turned around and replied with a smile, "Yes, I can't wait."
Ms. Alison walked into the room. Her gaze swept over the materials on the workbench and nodded. "Very good. I hope you can show your true strength in the competition."
The training began. Thomas first reviewed the basic magic incantations and gestures. He knew that the foundation was the basis of all magic. Only by laying a solid foundation could he flexibly deal with various situations in the competition.
As the training deepened, Thomas began to try to fuse different magic elements together to create new spells. He tried to combine fire and ice to create a composite magic that could both attack and defend. He chanted incantations intently, and his wand drew complex trajectories in the air.
"Pay attention to your breathing, Thomas." Ms. Alison reminded. "The control of magic lies not only in gestures and incantations but also in your heart and breathing."
Thomas took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and felt the magic energy inside his body. He began to try to use breathing to guide the flow of magic. Every breath was in sync with the rhythm of magic.
After countless attempts and failures, Thomas finally succeeded in creating a new magic. He excitedly looked at his achievement, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment. He knew that this would be his secret weapon in the competition.
After the training, Thomas felt an unprecedented exhaustion, but his heart was filled with satisfaction and expectation. He knew that he still had a long way to go, but every step brought him closer to his dream.
As night fell, Thomas sat alone in the corner of the library, flipping through an ancient magic book. The book recorded many lost magics and legends. He hoped to find more inspiration and knowledge from it.
"Thomas, don't stay up too late." Jack's voice rang out at the library entrance. He looked at Thomas with concern.
Thomas looked up and replied with a smile, "I know, Jack. I just want to learn a little more."
Jack nodded understandingly. He knew Thomas's determination and efforts. He encouraged, "You've done very well. I believe you will definitely achieve good results in the competition."
Thomas looked at Jack gratefully. He knew that he was not alone. He had Ms. Alison's guidance, Jack's support, and the expectations of the entire academy. He took a deep breath, closed the book, and prepared to welcome a new day.
As the days of the competition drew nearer, Thomas's preparations entered the final stage. He began to adjust his schedule to ensure sufficient rest and nutrition to maintain the best state in the competition.
His mentality also changed. From initial nervousness and uneasiness to now calmness and confidence. He knew that he had made all the preparations. Now he just needed to wait for the competition to arrive.
On the eve of the competition, Thomas stood on the square of the academy, looking up at the starry sky. He knew that these stars had witnessed the dreams and efforts of countless magicians. And now, he would also chase his dream under this starlight.
He closed his eyes, feeling the gentle breeze of the night. His heart was filled with expectation for the future. He knew that tomorrow, under the gaze of everyone, he would show his strength and talent.
