Third Person POV
Raef sat in the back of his mother's car, watching the green, dew-covered grass role by. Their destination? Whitehall Academy.
His mother broke the silence of thought by speaking. "Aren't you excited, Raef?"
Raef had been asked this question countless times and it was starting to get on his nerves.
"Kind of." he responded
Raef's seven year old brother, Grey, was slouching in the back seat behind him, phone in hand. Raef's life was dull and ordinary but not for much longer. You see, he would soon have his entire life switched upside down as soon as he set foot in Whitehall Academy's large campus, for the school itself was unique in it's curriculum. It did teach academics like any other school but Whitehall had a rather odd house sorting system: students were placed in houses based on their strength and pysical prowess!
"You are so not gonna do nothing at that school." Mumbled Grey.
Raef had to resist the desire to curse at his brother.
Just as Raef looked out the window again, a campus made up of large buildings came into view. Above an arch which served as a gate, was a large sign that read: "Whitehall Academy".
"This is it, Raef. Whitehall Academy!"
Raef sighed, his eyes darting across to the parking lot which easily 300 meters long. He saw many kids around his age wearing the school uniform, each having a stitched on animals on them. Those animals represented the house the students were in. As expected, Raef recognized none of them.
"Starting fresh..." he muttered to himself.
Their old pick-up truck parked in the schools lot. Raef stepped out and stood in the crowded parking-lot while his family truck pulled out of it and drove down the wide country road.
"Fresh Start..." he once again reminded himself before stepping in to the school grounds. The air was crisp and it smelt of perfume and roses. Raef hated the scent of things like that, to him it was like smelling off soap.
In his hand was the location of the assembly hall which was on the other side of the school. He knew that all of the new students like him, are meant to arrive at the Hall by nine o'clock sharp, so he began speed walking through the campus. The area itself was rather big, matching up to it's imposing aura.
"There!" He said as he came to halt Infront of a tall building, even by the schools standard.
He looked up and saw that upon a white sign on the outside of it, were the words "Assembly Hall" in big black letters.
"Here we go..." he whispered under his breath.
This was it. The start of his first day at Whitehall Academy!Â
