Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

Chapter 11

I didn't know what to say, so I didn't say anything at all. I numbly watch as she flaunts over to the many couches in the living room and gracefully flops down.

His wife. He had a wife. My eyes fill with tears, but I quickly blink them away. I slowly make my way over to a chair opposite her and sit down. Glaring harshly over at her, I bite down on my lip.

Over these few weeks that I had to myself, I had developed unexplainable feelings towards Alex. I was attracted to him. I cared what he thought of me. I cared if he cared. A lot of things changed over all those weeks. My wolf and I became more insecure. For once in our lives, it became clear that our mate really did not want us. This made it more apparent than ever. He wanted her. He had always wanted her.

"Do you have a problem, Omega?" the woman snaps.

I lift my lip up in a snarl, having no interest to answer. This woman did nothing to help my insecurity. If I had luck in my life, I would of been able to question why Alex chose her, but I couldn't because this woman is the epitome of perfection. With her long brunette hair, laying in loose curls almost to her lower back, and her high prominent cheek bones. She was gorgeous. I was bland. With dull blue eyes and short brown hair, I stood no competition against her. All I had in my favor was my personality, but that did nothing in the market for Alex.

"I asked you a question, Omega. I am Luna after all. I'm sure Alex would love to hear about this." she smirks, raising an eyebrow.

I grit my teeth keeping the growl, that I so desperately want to let out, at bay. My wolf surges forward and takes control.

"You are not the Luna." she growls, sending a deadly glare to the woman.

"Of course I am, Omega. I'm the Alpha's wife. I'm his soulmate." the woman smirks, sending me a mocking smile.

"Like hell you are." my wolf snaps, as she rises from her position on the couch.

"You have no position to talk to me like that. You are disrespecting your Luna." the woman growls, narrowing her eyes and standing from the couch.

"You are not my Luna. You are not Luna, period. I am the Luna." my wolf roars in a deadly tone, stalking towards her.

Another smirk slips onto her lips and a look of confidence appears onto her face, but her eyes are swimming in fear.

"You have no right to be in my house. You may claim to be Alex's wife, but I really don't care. This is my house too and I want you to get the hell out of it."

"You have no title. You're an Omega." she spats, literally spats, the liquid spraying across my face.

She is infuriating. The anger that my wolf and I hold only grows and I find myself struggling to keep my wolf from shifting. I know that this is a matter of time. The low growl I had been holding in is finally let out and echoes around the room. The fear in her eyes is completely apparent now.

"You do not call me, Omega." I growl stalking towards her, "I am Luna to you."

Standing in front of her, I narrow my eyes and bare my teeth at her. I enjoy her cowering state and I cock my head to the side.

"What's wrong Stephanie?" I grin, "Are you scared?"

Her eyes widen and she cowers back slightly. She never takes her eyes off of me and to my surprise she is suddenly flung back against the wall. I hadn't touched her. I hadn't even moved. She collides harshly with the wall and an unknown force keeps her pinned there. My eyes widen, but the snarl remains on my face. The front door bursts open and Alex storms through a look of anger and concern on his face.

"What the fuck is going on here?!" he shouts, as he runs into the living room.

I take my eyes off Stephanie, looking to him, and she immediately collapses to the floor, leaving a giant dent in the wall behind her.

"Your wife's here." I say in a deadly tone.

The look of surprise and worry on his face makes a chilling laugh burst from my lips. He snaps his gaze to me and glares, rushing over to help Stephanie stand.

"Awe what's wrong Alex? Upset that I caught you red handed." I mock, raising my eyebrows.

If looks could kill I would be dead a hundred times over. Both Stephanie and Alex are harshly glaring at me, until Stephanie turns in his arms and whimpers up to him, "She hurt me, baby."

Her tone of voice nearly makes me vomit and I can feel the bile rising in my throat. Alex does not look away from me. His face is set in a scowl, but his eyes are holding a different emotion, one that I can not place. His arms are wrapped around Stephanie, but he does not acknowledge her. Rolling my eyes, I turn towards the door.

"Have fun with your slut!" I call, before slamming the door and walking away from him.

And he lets me..

~~~~~
Walking through the village, I look for the mass of floppy black hair. I had to take my anger out on someone, he was my target. He betrayed me. Purposefully avoided telling me Alex had a wife and I will make sure that he regrets it.
I come to the small tree stump that I left him at and see him sitting with his head in his hands. Anger courses through my veins.
"SEBASTIAN!" I scream, storming towards him as angry tears stream down my cheeks.
"Claire?" he asks, turning to look at me with a concerned expression.
I stop a few feet in front of him, anger swimming through my body. My hand connects with his cheek in a loud crack, that echoes throughout the forest. The area immediately turns achingly red.
"Shit!" he shouts, clutching his cheek.
"You fucking lied to me." I growl lowly, as I feel my eyes change color.
"What are you talking about? I haven't lied about anything!" he snaps, anger pooling in his eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me that Alex had a wife!" I screech, hurt building in my chest.
"What do you mean? He doesn't...." he trails off, furrowing his eyebrows in deep thought.
"He has a wife." I spit.
"Fucking Alex." he groans, swiping a hand over his face.
"Why wouldn't you tell me something like that?!" I yell, raising my hand to slap him again.
He catches my wrist, barely before I connect with his cheek again.
"I didn't know. I swear. Just let me explain." he pleads.
My anger slowly dissolves, as I take in his sincere expression.
"Fine." I snap.
"Come on." he nods, pulling me towards a small den a few steps into the forest.
"Are you going kill me?" I joke.
"You see, if I was going to do that. You'd already be dead." he smirks, pushing open the door.
Inside, the only thing that the room holds is a small bed, in the middle, along with a tiny, kid like, dresser in the corner.
"So explain." I order as I stand in the middle of the room, with my arms crossed over my chest.
He lets out a long sigh and leans against the door..
"It was a few years ago, Alex was about 18 and he was desperately trying to find his mate. He was cruel, deadly, dangerous. Everything the legends foretold. He was positive his mate come to find him, because only the most idiotic wolves cross over into Westwood territory. He was growing tired. He didn't think he was ever gonna find his mate and he left one day. I nor anybody else in the pack thought anything of it. He did that sometimes. He would just randomly leave and show up again in a few weeks. It wasn't anything unusual. Then when he came home, he was.....different. He said he was no longer looking for his mate, said he didn't want to. I just figured that he gave up for now and that he'd try again in a few months, but then I noticed the ring on his finger. He normally never wore a lot on his hands, but there was something about that ring that made me question it. So I asked him and he went crazy. He told me that it wasn't any of my business, that it didn't concern me. But the thing that really confused me? He never wore that ring again. I was confused for a while. I honestly have no idea why, I didn't put two and two together and realize he was fucking married. I just left it alone. He was my scarier older brother. I knew he could skin me, so I forgot about it. Now this all makes sense, it was a wedding ring. He had gotten married, out of the blue. To someone none of us knew...." he trails off, closing his eyes.
Silence fills the room as I sift through the information that he told me.
"She's his Luna then." I eventually mutter.
"Seems like it..." he nods.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and look at the old wood floor.
"She was never around though. He never introduced her to the pack. Never even spoke a word about her. It doesn't make any sense, but it seems like he wanted her to be a secret." he shrugs.
"Why would he marry someone, if she wasn't supposed to be Luna?" I mutter, blinking away the tears.
"I don't know, Claire. I don't know." he says, with sympathetic eyes.
Sebastian walks towards me and pulls me into his comforting embrace. A fear tears spill out of my eyes. Just hearing about this made all of the wounds in my heart reopen.
"Everything's gonna be okay. I'll make sure of it." he assures as he pulls away from me.
"How could you possibly say that? He's married!" I shout, more tears leaking down my cheeks.
"I can make you feel better." he mumbles, biting his lip slightly.
My eyes are immediately drawn to his mouth. He was biting down so harshly, his entire lip was white. I couldn't help, but stare.
He leans in and attaches his lips to mine. For a moment, I am too caught up in my emotions to comprehend what he's doing. A warmth is running through my veins as he wraps his hands around my waist. This was nice, nothing like Alex, but nice. I lean closer relishing in the feeling of his lips against mine. He gently bites down on my lower lip and an involuntary moan leaves my lips. He growls slightly, pulling me even closer. My eyes are clamped closed as I imagine the deep brown eyes, the dark brown hair pushed up into a quiff, and the overly muscled yet completely drool worthy chest of my mate. Sebastian's hand trails lower finding my thigh and pushing up slightly. I immediately jump into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist.
My mind is swimming with thoughts of my mate. I imagine that it is him who I'm kissing.
Sebastian walks us slowly back into the bed. He softly, yet aggressively, throws me down on the bed and straddles my waist. Pulling away from my lips, he kisses down my neck.
My thoughts drift back to Alex. His lips, his eyes, his voice. Everything brought roaring butterflies in my stomach. I wished this was him.
Sebastian nips lightly at my neck, unintentionally hitting the spot that Alex should mark me. The crook of my neck, directly above my collarbone. Moving to my blouse, he slowly begins to unbutton my shirt. I immediately snap out of my daze, pushing Sebastian away. I furiously wipe my lips to get rid of the taste of him.
"We can't do this." I spit, backing away from him and standing from the bed.
"Why?" he nearly growls, the hurt pooling in his eyes overwhelming me.
I turn my head away from him, re-buttoning the buttons on my shirt. Sebastian rises from the bed, his eyes beginning to glow.
"I can't do this to Alex." I breathe, running a hand through my hair.
"You didn't seem to care about him two seconds ago when you were moaning for me." he spits, his eyes turning slightly black.
"He's my mate." I shrug, tears once again filling my eyes.
"And he has a wife." he spats, stepping closer to me.
"I know. And as much as I hate it, I still can't do this. I can't betray him like this. I-I....I just can't, okay?" I sniffle, moving further back towards the wall.
"I can give you so much more than he can. I would never even dream of hurting you." Sebastian whispers, his expression softening.
"You probably could," I nod, "But I still can't do this to him. He's my mate. He can tear me to pieces all he wants and be as unfaithful as he wishes to be, but I will never cheat on him."
"You just did." he smirks.
"Kissing you is one thing, Seb. Sleeping with you? That's a whole other can of worms." I mutter, collecting my shoes that I had kicked off when we entered.
I start to the door and open it a crack, turning back to him, I mumble, "I'm sorry, Sebastian."
"Wait!" he calls, as I step through the doorway, "You love him?"
I reach a hand back and rub my neck.
I shake my head, "No."
"Well that means something right?" he nods frantically, practically lunging towards me.
"No, Seb. I can't." I repeat, looking away from his pleading eyes.
"But you said you don't love him." he whispers, clasping his hands together in front of him.
Looking at the ceiling, I huff, "I don't love him yet. He's a....difficult person to love. I care about him though and I know that this would crush him just as much as his wife ruined me."
"He did you wrong, Claire. Don't you want revenge?" he asks, stepping up so we are face to face.
"Of course," I sigh, "But not in the way that you think. I can't sleep with you to get back at him."
"Okay. That's fine. We don't have to sleep together, but at least give me the chance to hurt him. He broke you, Claire. In such a short amount of time too. Let's break him even worse than he did you." he demands, putting his hands on my shoulder.
"How?" I huff, throwing my hands up.
"Be my girlfriend." he says, bluntly.
"Seb.." I trail off.
"My fake girlfriend. Only in front of him." he vows.
Looking at the ceiling, a long sigh sneaks past my lips and I shrug, "Okay."
