Ashley got cleared for discharge after three days of checkups and tests. She had been obedient and eventually coaxed the doctor into letting her go. Staying in the hospital was suffocating. Although Leticia and Nathan were skeptical, they agreed. They were both aware of Ashley's fear of hospitals. Either way, they would make sure the young woman had the best treatment at home.
Leticia had a bit of work to attend to, hence, she left earlier. Nathan drove the young woman back home.
The ride was pretty much quiet. Ashley had not been alone with Nathan like this over the past few days. There was always someone accompanying her in the hospital, leaving the couple with no time alone.
She twisted her fingers nervously and pursed her lips as she gave him a sidelong glance. The man kept his eyes on the road, as though he was not ready for a conversation. At the sight of this, Ashley hesitated.
