Chapter 2: Devastated
Still at the office
The only thing I'm in the mood to do is to go spend time with my Love Liam as this is my whole life desires. But still I have to go and spend time with Liam's relatives and mine too. Dinner mood activated I said, putting on a little smile.
This is the opportunity I've been waiting as I feel that it will be a great way of showing the whole family including my relatives and that of Liam's how Liam's have despised me.
Nevertheless, I still have to insist on not being at the dinner.
I can't make it to the dinner, I'm sorry to say that. I have to fix some things up in the office, I said with an hesitating voice.
Cut the crap and make yourself present here and don't keep us waiting. Just then, I had my sister's voice echoed from the background and my mother in law's as well before my mom ended up the call.
I had no other option than to close from the office and join them at the restaurant.
There have always been beef between my mother inlaw and, I since she never supported our marriage at the first place.
I expected everything to be awkward without being told and that would be worse if Liam isn't present.
I got to the restaurant with heavy heart and eyes red having been crying throughout my stay in the office.
Arriving at the restaurant, I pretended all is well though with my eyes Puffy red and I guess my mother-in-law and my mother noticed it. They actually did overlooked the situation.
My mother inlaw instead tried cumbering me with too many questions trying to find out if I was pregnant.
What a joy it will be if she doesn't make comments on not carrying Liam's baby though it's her wish that I don't give birth to a child for her son, Liam.
My mom on the other hand being concerned about my well being, enquired about my unhappy look.
"Just then, my mother in law's phone popped up and that was Liam sending apologies on his inability to be at the the with everyone."
Her mother read the message out, thus; I won't be able to make it tonight at the dinner as a result of an emergency that came up. Please, do accept my apologies.
Present at the restaurant was, I myself, my mother in-law, Liam's sister Ava and my mom and sister.
Don't worry, he's always been a busy man and we're ok, yeah, my mother in-law chipped in, you know the Mr CEO, as busy as a bee.
Ava smiled mischievously. There is something fishy about her smile, I whispered to myself.
Moments after that, I discovered why Ava smiled mischievously. Since I was sitting behind the door, I was always aware of anyone that comes into the restaurant through the door.
The person next, was my husband and wasn't certain about what my eyes saw. Am I being deceived by my own eyes? There was no other way that could better explain what my eyes was seeing.
So Liam has a girlfriend and has kept her secret all this while. Liam must be joking.
My already devastated state became worsened. This time around, it plunged to my feet by what my eyes saw.
Leaning on his arm was a total stranger. I never had a glimpse of seeing her in my entire life.
So, Liam have been flirting with this lady. I once saw her picture in Liam's phone, never did it come to my mind that Liam has something in common with her.
How comes, have been ignorant about the woman who Liam has fallen in love with? My bad.
I became jealous as have never known it before and I feel my heart constrict as I watched them laughing in amazement to what the lady said.
"Liam is the devil's son, he's been cheating on me with this trash."I said under my breath with my vision blurry. I could feel my heart suffocating that it seems like I was going to stop breathing.
Finally, Liam's reasons for a divorce all make sense. He's found a new lover and decided to discard me like a rag all because of this shameless harlot beside him.
I could clearly see the chemistry between them as of day. And as I watched them, I realized that this has been going on for a while. He hasn't been heartily engaged in a conversation that he could laugh at with me.
"As if that was not enough, her sister added, don't act as if you're suprised. Do you think a handsome and rich dude like my brother would even consider spending his entire life. He only needed sometime for himself." Ava, Liam's sister said rolling her eyes, she peers at me maliciously.
I looked directly at my mom as if to say "it's all your fault." I'm not listening to all that Ava is saying. I'm just trying to make sense of what is before me and the event that took place earlier that day.
Seeing Liam steps into the restaurant with his soon to be wife hanging all over Liam as though it is the most natural thing in the world. This is the worst Liam could have done after devastating me.
I noticed the exact moment he saw sitting with his relatives and mine. Maybe he never knew we were all going to be here and looks shocked to his bone when he sees us, bit he regains his composure almost immediately.
Just then, he leads his girlfriend to the table on the other side of the room. His hands on his girlfriend's small butts like a gentleman.
He acted so good towards his girlfriend and my mind went back to when we first met. I amost would have ceased breathe.
I guess the table must have been reserved for them.
Ava would do anything to cause me pain because, she never really loved which was the more reasons my mom advised me to always act up. She probably must have planned this whole scenario.
In wondered how long Liam must have been making out with his soon to be wife. The both of them laughing at my back on how gullible I am.
Good evening everyone in house and good evening young lady. A lady's voice came directing the greetings to me.
A happy smile popped up on Ava and her mother's face such as I've never seen since I got married to Liam.
Without looking, I know that this is Liam's girl, or better still, his soon to be wife.
I could see Liam's mom, Ava and the lady whispering excitedly among themselves, excludine, my mom and my sister making me feel like a piece of an unwanted piece of trash in their midst. My eyes meet Liam's and I found out that he's been stirring at me all the while with a speculative looking in his eyes.
Something has gone extreme wrong, i will never be loved or respected by Liam's family. I know that as well as I know my name.
When I could no longer stand the sight of seeing them, I stood up abruptly muttering excuses, went outside. No one except Liam noticed me leaving.
He doesn't follow me. I need a breath of fresh air away from him and his family.
His soon to be wife's beauty with her perfect blonde hair crowned with her expensive dress which is cut down to reveal her cleavages refused to get out of my head as I stand outside to receive fresh air.
Is that the type of woman he likes? no wonder he's been acting up lately.
