Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Kaizen’s First Nen Beast!

Kaizen reflected on Silva's words, his mind sharp and focused.

In the original story, Hisoka told Bushidora that he'd gone down the wrong path. Though Bushidora was clearly an Enhancer by nature, he had developed an ability that was more aligned with a Transmuter's style.

(T/N: Bushidora Ambitious was a Single-Star Blacklist Hunter.)

Disappointed, Hisoka eliminated Bushidora on the spot.

This incident caused a lot of misunderstanding among those who learned about it. Many believed that to master Nen, one's abilities must align perfectly with their natural Nen type.

Enhancers should only focus on strengthening.

Emitters should concentrate on projecting energy.

... But in reality, it's more nuanced than that.

What Hisoka said wasn't incorrect, but it was incomplete.

The primary development of Nen abilities should align with a person's natural affinity to maximize efficiency, making it easier to master the techniques and achieve stronger results. However, true mastery often involves blending skills from other categories.

Take Netero, for example—his abilities demonstrate aspects of both Manipulation and Emission.

Even Franklin from the Phantom Troupe serves as a great example. His two-handed machine-gun technique—where his fingers fire bullets—relies on Enhancement. Yet, the functionality of the guns reflects the precision of Emitter.

Franklin's ability may seem wasteful since he materializes his fingers into gun barrels, but there's more going on. His power relies on conditions and vows. The self-imposed limitations don't just prevent waste; they enhance the force of his attacks.

The same goes for Kite, Ging Freecss's student. His Crazy Slots ability, particularly Clown No. 4, incorporates both Conjurer and Transmutation.

Even Gon's Jajanken—his signature rock-paper-scissors move—isn't purely an Enhancer technique. The punch (Rock) belongs to Enhancers, but Scissors reflects the essence of Transmutation, and Paper leans into Emission. By adhering to the rules of the game, Gon creates self-imposed restrictions that boost the strength and versatility of his attacks.

In short, physical training isn't exclusive to Enhancers. Netero, Bisky, Zeno, and Silva—all of them trained their bodies to their limits despite coming from different Nen categories.

Even Razor from Greed Island wasn't an Enhancer, but his strength rivaled those who were.

"I understand, Uncle Silva. Thanks."

"There's no need to thank me." Silva gave a brief nod, then added, "If you have any more questions, feel free to ask."

"Got it, Uncle Silva."

With that, Kaizen left the Zoldyck estate, heading down the winding path from the mountaintop mansion.

The Zoldyck estate was vast, filled with intrigue, but Kaizen had explored enough of it. Every corner—whether the butlers' quarters, the Testing Gate, or the dense jungle beyond—had been committed to memory. His mind had cataloged everything with the keen focus of an observer.

The only thing left was the crystal ball in his possession.

Back in his room, Kaizen stared at it.

"In terms of absorption, it's at 90%. But the energy is slowing down."

He tapped the smooth surface of the crystal, frustration flickering in his mind.

"There's nowhere left in the estate where the absorption rate will increase."

Kaizen knew of the hidden prisons deep within the Zoldyck estate—places used to detain unusual individuals like Alluka. But accessing those areas was out of the question. As far as Zeno and Silva were concerned, Kaizen wasn't even aware of Alluka's existence.

He sighed.

"It's fine. Even if the absorption has slowed, it hasn't stopped entirely."

The crystal continued to draw in energy at a trickle.

"With just ten percent left, it'll reach full capacity in about ten days—even if I stay still." Kaizen grinned.

"When that happens, I'll finally manifest my first Nen Beast."

Kaizen's progress with Nen had already surpassed that of most beginners. But creating a Nen Beast would take his abilities to a whole new level.

"The Observer's Will I've developed acts as a restriction—an oath. And the more complex the restriction, the stronger the Nen Beast."

With renewed determination, Kaizen threw himself into his training. His recent sparring sessions with Silva had given him invaluable insights, both physical and mental. Silva's advice had reshaped Kaizen's training regimen, accelerating his growth even further.

"Physical conditioning and spiritual development are the foundation. Abilities and techniques are just tools. When all these elements come together, that's where real strength lies."

Ten days passed in the blink of an eye.

"It's time!" Kaizen's eyes snapped open.

The crystal ball glowed brightly before him, fully saturated with energy—its progress finally at 100%.

Then, all at once, Kaizen felt a powerful pull.

This pull was even stronger than what he'd felt when he first developed his Observer's Will. But this time, Kaizen's energy reserves were far greater. He channeled everything he had into the crystal ball, his aura flowing steadily into it.

The crystal's color began to shift and pulse, radiating an eerie glow.

Kaizen leaned closer, breath held in anticipation.

"What kind of beast will it be?"

His body felt light—almost hollow—like his energy and spirit were being drawn into the crystal. Every ounce of strength, every thought, was absorbed by the glowing sphere.

Suddenly—

BOOM!

A loud crack echoed through his mind.

Kaizen's vision blurred, and the world around him vanished as his consciousness plunged into a strange, otherworldly space. Shadows and phantoms swirled around him, like ghosts floating in a misty void.

Kaizen frowned, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.

"What... is this?"
