Lucas froze, staring at Eldric in disbelief.
"Huh? What do you mean, Eldric?"
Eldric didn't waver, his expression serious and his tone heavy with importance. "You really don't know? The element you just revealed… it belongs to a god—Nyxarion, the Abyssal Sovereign. He's also known as the God of Void."
Lucas blinked, struggling to process what he was hearing.
Eldric continued, his voice steady but laced with awe. "The element you possess is called the Void Element. It's unlike anything wielded by ordinary magic users. Only those chosen by Nyxarion can wield it, and as far as history records, no one else but Nyxarion himself has ever been able to use it—until now."
Lucas's mind reeled, his thoughts a whirlwind of disbelief and shock. He had hoped for something special, maybe even a rare element, but this? This was beyond anything he could have imagined.
'Wait, so it's just me… and a god? What the heck?! That's… insane! No, it's more than that—it's awesome!'
A grin started tugging at the corner of his lips. 'I'm actually cool as hell.'
Eldric's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "Lucas, do you have anything to say?"
Lucas's grin faded as he lowered his head, trying to focus. His thoughts shifted back to what Eldric had said about being "chosen" by Nyxarion. But that didn't make sense—he had never even heard of Nyxarion before. There was no connection.
'This is my first time hearing about this god,' Lucas thought, his brow furrowed. 'So how could I possibly be connected to him? It doesn't add up.'
His mind drifted to the mysterious vase, the strange artifact that had brought him to this world in the first place. Was it possible there was some kind of link between the two?
'Could it be that vase? It's the only thing that makes sense... sort of.'
Lucas let out a soft sigh, shaking his head. "Eldric, I swear, I don't know. I don't have any clue how I ended up with this element. Whether you believe me or not, that's the truth."
Eldric's gaze lingered on Lucas, his expression unreadable as if he were searching for any hint of a lie.
'This is unbelievable,' Eldric thought, his mind racing. 'I've only ever read about Nyxarion and this Void Element in ancient texts. I never thought I'd see it in real life. And yet… Lucas doesn't seem like he's lying. There's genuine confusion in his eyes.'
Eldric frowned slightly. 'This boy is a mystery. His strange clothes, his cluelessness about magic, and now this? He possesses the Void Element—an element that should only belong to a god.'
After a long silence, Eldric finally spoke. "Alright, Lucas. I'll be honest—it's hard to trust you. For all I know, you could be pretending to be clueless and planning to take over the world or something."
Lucas's jaw dropped. "What?!"
Eldric smirked faintly, his tone lightening. "But for now, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt."
Lucas blinked at him, unsure if he should feel relieved or insulted. "Wait—was that a joke?"
Eldric shrugged, his expression calm. "Maybe."
Lucas couldn't help but laugh, shaking his head. "You're unbelievable, Eldric."
"Unbelievable?" Eldric replied, his tone turning serious again. "The only unbelievable thing here is the power you hold. Honestly, are you even real?"
Lucas's laughter died down, and he gave Eldric a deadpan look. "Oh, come on."
He sighed, deciding it was best to change the topic. His thoughts wandered back to when he had first arrived in this world—how he'd tried to summon a game-like system, only to fail miserably and end up running for his life from goblins. Back then, he'd felt completely ordinary, like there was nothing special about him.
But now? Now he was holding onto the knowledge that he possessed something extraordinary.
Lucas straightened, turning his attention back to Eldric. "Alright, so I've discovered my element. What's next? Should I start learning some skills or something?"
Eldric shook his head. "Not just yet. There's still a chance you might possess another element."
Lucas blinked. "Wait, what? Another element? You mean I have to go through another magic ball test?"
"That's right," Eldric said matter-of-factly.
Lucas groaned, slumping slightly. "I thought we were done with that!"
