The room fell deathly silent. Every gaze snapped to me, shock and disbelief etched on their faces. Even Ravrik's composed expression faltered, surprise flickering across his features.
"Iris," Vincent's voice was sharp, edged with warning. "What do you think you're doing?"
I turned to him, anger igniting in my chest like wildfire. "I'm doing what I should have done a long time ago."
Ravrik cleared his throat, stepping forward cautiously. "Lady Iris, this—"
"Is it possible?" I interrupted, my voice steady, my gaze unwavering. "To revoke my title as his daughter?"
Ravrik hesitated, glancing between me and Edward. "Well, technically—"
"I no longer wish to be regarded as his daughter!" I declared, cutting him off.
Edward's face turned pale, his hand trembling as it rose to point at me. His lips parted, but no words came out. He looked utterly shattered, the weight of my words seeming to crush him.
