6 Hulking fishmen step through the ruined door of Rain's neighbours. Their muscles bulge through their thick scales. Each one of them has a similar cod fish head, all with their own variations of scars adorned on their flesh.
The one in charge steps forward eager to claim his prey. His scaled fingers grip tightly at his loyal rusted anchor.
"What a naive fool we have here! Let's see how long you last before your chum!" He exclaims with hunger and hatred.
Immediately Rain launches off a decayed piece of furniture sending himself soaring through the waters just above them. His mind starts to go into autopilot seeing the mortal threat before him.
"Come on" Rain pleads to himself. Begging his tail to respond to his intent, Slamming down on the head of the leader of the group, leaving him stunned and disorientated.
"This little runt!" He struggles to gain his equilibrium through the fish circling his vision.
"I think you have something confused. You're the prey here" Rain bares his teeth, glaring at the fishman with absolute hunger. Yellow eyes mark their prey with ease.

"What kind of mer is he!" One of the fishman responded in fear over the piercing gaze of Rain.
Everything is drowned out of his senses as the only thing in his mind is the flesh and blood of the kill before him. His ravenous hunger makes itself known. 5 years of transformation making his stomach growl.
Immediately his razor sharp teeth rip through the scales of the disorientated leader, tearing chunks out his body with the brute force of his neck muscles. Chunk after chunk is ripped out. Devoured in but a moment. The waters cloud red as he continues to rip apart his meal.
His dense nails tear into the neck of the leader looking to rip his head off his shoulder. Nothing but pain can be felt in the fishman. His mind is far gone, locked on the immense agony wrecking through him.
"Stop! Stop! STOP PLEASE!" The leader of the fishman group begs and pleads letting out a primordial scream feeling his head separate from his neck. Finally being ripped from its housing, his head is left gasping and screaming despite the lack of a body.
"Who was the one that was going to be chum again?" Rain says before chomping down into the disembodied head. Delighting in every crunch of his prey.
He continues to eat every part of his prey seeking not to waste any of the delicious chum before him. As if possessed, his disgust is shoved to the far back of his mind as he continues to delight on his rightfully claimed feast.
"WHO THE HELL IS THIS MER!" The other fishman respond in a unified panic seeing their leader be ripped apart in moments.
"WE NEED TO GET THE BOSS NOW! SEND A MESSENGER FISH NOW!" One of them exclaimed.
"BE QUIET MEN. I could smell the blood from miles away!" A larger, more brutish fishman rips his way into the decaying house.
"Are you going to be my main course? I've still got room for more." Rain says still under the influence of his hunter's instinct.
'What the hell is happening. My emotion it's fueling my hunger even further. Is it because of their enemies? Just what the hell is happening. Why do I not care? I just devoured his friend's head.' Rain's thoughts stream by in a momentary panic before being shut down by the mortal situation before him.
'This transformation really did take my humanity. I'm something else entirely. If I have to be a monster to survive then so be it. I won't back down' His mind roars out in defiance.
Cleaning his teeth with the spine of his friend, Rain's inner hunter looks to claim more. His yellow eyes burn into the boss of the fishman with frenzied hunger.
"Men retreat back to base! I'll handle this one. Alone!" The boss yells out extending out a muscly finned armed warning his men to go no further.
"Yes boss" They all respond in unison still mortified by the immense threat before them.
"Oh, another 1 on 1. That little snack of mine wanted the same didn't really work out for him" Rain says, spitting out the spine of the Fishmans friend.
"That snack of yours was my friend you Mer freak." The boss exclaims full of disgust and rage.
"Yeah. Well guess what this is our loot and our territory. Your a fool for thinking no one would eventually retialtate" Rain says not backing down an inch. Staring down the fishman.
"Let's see you run your yap after you become feed!" The boss yells out in unbridled anger.
With a kick of his flippers, the fishman cruises through the waters with ease. Flinging himself around his artificially made currents with dexterity. A chained anchor is sent soaring through the waters wrapping around Rain before locking with the anchor embedding itself into Rains flesh.

"Now you become feed!" The fishman roars out, summoning forward a cleaving wave of water. A glowing blue hue escapes his body as he sends the wave for Rain's neck.
"God damn it! I won't die here. I vowed to live this life. You will not stop my progress!" Rain struggles desperately against his bonds. His eyes burn deep with hatred trying to elicit the charm once more.

[Charm Failed]
The cleaving wave of water continues to rapidly soar through the decayed house ready to severe Rain from this mortal coil. In his panicked desperation his body summons forth every ounce of energy to survive in any way it can.
Struggling to break through the chains constricting him. Almost all hope is lost for Rain until a white glow emits out of him in desperation. As if currents began streaming out of his whole being. In the same motion bubbles begin to fly out of his mouth forming into a barrier of air.
[Mana 5/10 A portion of mana has been spent due to your survival instinct.]
"Of course a freak like you has a mana foundation! This is going to be an interesting fight!" The boss spits bitterly, seeing his own attack be shut down.
Seeing the fishmans exposed gills flaring with energy an idea shoots its way into the centre of Rain's grey matter. Without any hesitation Rain crunches down on the chains entrapping him. Some of his teeth shatter and crumble until the sounds of freedom enter his ears as the chains fall to the floor cracked apart.
"Psychotic mer!" The fishman responds in shock, seeing the agonising torture Rain is inflicting upon himself.
Without a second thought Rain launches himself off one of the destroyed pieces of furniture. For the first time his tail starts to assist him through the waters. Hurtling through the water he extends his nails gripping into the gills of the fishman. Before the same glow emits off of him responding to his desperation.
His palms erupt with air bubbles violently entering the gills of his enemy. Sending his enemy into a violent shock as he struggles to breathe through the assault.
Before Rain can land the finishing blow an infant leviathan crushies into the side of the building wailing out in anger, picking up the wounded fishman with its mouth before rapidly swimming away.
"That leviathan is helping him. Who is the abyssal Pearl!" Rain screams out grabbing at his wounds.
"That was terrifying." He says as the rush of adrenaline begins to subside.
Echoing barks of his loyal companion reaches him through the calming chaos. Serena with Fin in toe swims through the crumbling building.
"Rain! Rain, are you alive? Please! Please, I'm sorry I left you. It's all my fault." Serena cries in a distraught panic.
"Serena what the hell are you talking about?" Rain says brushing off some of the collapsing houses debris.
"You're alive! THANK GOD! I was so worried. YOU'RE AN IDIOT!" She exclaims before responding in brutal agitation.
"Well that's a mixed response." Rain says still rubbing at his wounds.
"What happened, how are you alive, why do we have the loot?" Serena gawks as she stares at the destroyed battlefield.
"I won." Rain grins.
"What!" Serena shouts, doubting Rain entirely.
"Have a look for yourself, his loyal comrade is chum in the water over there." Rain chuckles pointing over at the feast he had earlier.
A mixture of fear and awe fill her gaze as she continues to be brought into shock by Rain's blatant disregard of common sense and ruthlessness.
"You scare and excite me Rain." Serena says being brutally honest.
"Rude, how do I scare you?" Rain questions jokingly.
"Barely anyone in scavengers reef stands up to the Abyssal pearl. Yet you went ahead and ate his lieutenant for lunch" Serena says locked with the chum decorating parts of the interior.
"Still thank you. If not for you I would be indebted and probably have lost my shop in the reef. Man, I owe you a big feast, well maybe not as big anymore." Serena says before seeing the chum again.
"A lot like sushi. Wish i had some wasabi for that." Rain says wiping away bubbles of drool.
"You're joking right?" Serena asks, completely lost for words.
