Chapter 16 - Connecting the Dots

Determined to make sense of it all, Aoi connects the subjects' files and notices a pattern. Each child's environment is specifically designed to control their minds and reactions to certain stimuli — like a psychological puzzle. Some subjects were controlled by fear, others by affection or isolation, much like her. She realizes the experiment is designed to study the human mind's breaking point and the will to escape. But there's more: an entire network of researchers, facilities, and test subjects still running experiments across the globe. Aoi finds one file that stands out: Project RunAway, Phase II. This phase outlines the goal to push subjects to rebel, then observe their behavior when given the illusion of freedom. Aoi's escape was planned, and her current reality may still be part of the experiment.
