Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - Midnight Reflections

After dinner, I headed back up to my room. Man what a shit show that was.

But still, Arnolds was insanely strong. His aura nearly killed us.

And then there's Silas and Isabel. In the novel Silas and Isabel help Aron in killing Lucas when he becomes the emissary of chaos.

I can kind of see Silas doing that but I don't know about Isabel. During the duration of the dinner, she didn't even say one word. Like not even one.

But what I don't get is why all of them are more concerned in disposing of Lucas rather than help him.

I mean sure, he's an asshole but he is still family isn't he? And Arnolds. That motherfucker, isn't Lucas your son? Isn't Silas your chosen heir?

What were you thinking unleashing that kind of aura on your own sons.

Haaa. I'm tired, I need to rest.

SQUISH

Thinking so, I landed on the soft mattress of Lucas' king sized bed. Now how do I navigate this world.

Do I just follow the novel's script? No bad idea. If I just follow the novel's storyline, I'll definitely end up dead just like Lucas.

But then, what the heck do I do? The novel's storyline mainly rotated around the protagonist Aron.

And if I remember correctly, Lucas was disowned by the Morningstar house at the start of the novel.

And the protagonist was 16. Given that he and Lucas are the same age that means Lucas was 16 as well when he was disowned.

I don't really know why he was disowned since the novel didn't explore that storyline either but I can make a guess.

Lucas' drug habit and his womanizing habit as well. I mean this guy must lack any ounce of shame or sense of dignity as he even went after the maids in the mansion.

Some agreed to it, others not so much. A lot of them refused while hurling insults at him.

Damn. Anyway back to my status. 'Status' I muttered.

Huuuu. Ok. His stats are low but his potential isn't that low for a commoner or low ranking noble. But for a Duke's potential heir.

It is.

Especially, for the eldest son of Duke Morningstar. In the empire, Dukes are usually [S] rank, sometimes higher. Like Arnolds who is [SS-] rank.

So you can see the disparity. And even my mana quantity is low. Why is it just [B] rank. And not even at the peak of [B] rank too.

But then again, he has a unique skill huh? And not just any unique skill, it's devour. A subskill of gluttony.

But I don't get it. In the novel it was never mentioned whether Lucas had a unique skill or not.

But if he did have one, especially one as powerful as this, then I guess it explains a little of how he got insanely powerful in volume seven.

But if his potential is this low how did he break it. I mean, there was a method mentioned in the novel which was the Truth seeker fruit.

But there's only one of it. How? Well I guess it doesn't matter. I just have to get the one the protagonist took.

The Truth seeker fruit's ability is to lift or rather increase your potential limit by about two to three ranks.

That's how Aron the protagonist went from potential of B rank to a potential of SS rank. But he doesn't need it. Afterall he's fated to be the Sun God's avatar, which will lift any and all limiters off him.

So taking it wouldn't necessarily affect the storyline. Now my issue is where to get it from.

The novel's storyline begins three years from now. And Aron only got the Truth seeker fruit when the story began so I only know where the fruit's gonna be in three years.

So it's not like I can just go get it now.

Hell for all I know, it hasn't even formed yet. Ok. If I can't get it now, I just gotta wait three years.

In the meantime I should try to train my swordsmanship and mana control. I'm assuming Lucas used a sword since that's the main weapon of the Morningstars.

Ok. Looks like I have a semi solid plan at least. From tomorrow I'm going to start whooping my ass off training, so I don't end up the way the original Lucas did.

And with that thought in mind, I drifted off to sleep.
