The fantasy novel Swordmaster's rise. It came out about a week ago in my old world. It was a novel that took the novel community by storm.
About two thousand years ago, in the year 2018, a hole opened in the sky and an alien race invaded the world. The aliens began to indiscriminately slaughter the human race.
Try as they might, the human's technology wasn't able to push back these alien invaders.
And so their rampage went unchecked. The aliens ran amuck for years, slaughtering eighty percent of the human population.
With only a few humans left, the alien race instead of finishing what they started, suddenly retreated through the hole in the sky and the hole started closing.
But before it finished closing, an otherworldly energy was released into the planet through the hole.
And it bathed the planet with it's power, but in the process of washing over the planet, it killed fifty percent of the remaining humans.
And the remaining fifty percent fell into a coma. But when they woke up what greeted them was a sight they weren't prepared for.
The regular animals on the planet had mutated. Turned into vicious beasts that were out for blood.
Again humanity did try to fight back but you can guess how that went.
And so the monsters started slaughtering what remained of humanity until the awakened appeared. They were humans capable of utilizing the strange energy that killed half their remaining population. Mana.
After the first awakened appeared. More and more came and humans were finally able to defend themselves properly.
After getting a little breathing space from the beasts, they found that during their coma the continents on the planet had shifted and that seven of them had combined to form a super continent.
And so after pushing back the beasts. They had to deal with each other. The era of democracy was over. It was now might makes right.
The era of kingdoms and empires came back. The era of nobility was back as well.
So the novel's story follows Aron Maxwell and his rise to power in this world, crushing any and everyone who stands in his way. And of course there is also a harem. Haah.
Anyway Lucas in the novel started out a minor villain. The failure of house morningstar.
In the novel, Lucas was obsessed with his ex-fiance. Aurora Hayes, Princess of the Hayes empire. But she was only interested in the protagonist Aron.
So I'm sure you can guess but Lucas began antagonizing Aron from that point onward until Aron beat his ass. This happened in volume two and he mysteriously disappeared until volume seven where he emerged as the emissary of chaos.
Man. Volume seven was dark. Lucas slaughtered thousands trying to summon Nyarlathotep, goddess of chaos. Even killing the royal family of Hayes. But ultimately he was defeated by the hero's party.
Damn. Anyway I should probably check my status. If I remember correctly, to check your status you just have to think it. 'Status' ________________________________________

The Status window. An interface that emerged with the coming of mana. It showed the awakened their stats as well as their stat limit.
The numbers first shown after each stat name is your current capabilities in that state while the numbers shown below are it's maximum capacity.
And after looking at my stats, all I could think was shit. What the fuck kind of stats are these.
But then again thinking back to how Lucas was beaten to a pulp by Aron I guess it's to be expected.
Anyway the status windows are just like in the novel. And what the fuck? He only has B rank mana. Isn't this guy a high ranking noble?. How the fuck is his mana this low.
And what the hell is that incomprehensible shit.
Shit. Shit. Shit. Damn it.
Wait. He has a unique skill?. That's odd. He didn't have any in the novel.
Ok. Huuuu. Breath. This is still manageable. I mean if he has a unique skill then this should be doable.
Oh right I remember that there was an-
KNOCK KNOCK
Disrupting my thoughts, I heard a knock on the door and a voice followed it.
"Young Master. His grace has summoned you to join them for dinner today".
His grace would mean. Shit. Lucas' father. Duke Morningstar. Oh shit.
I hurriedly replied "Uhm can I skip it?. I'm not feeling too well".
And the person outside the door, a maid most likely, replied saying "No. His grace demands you come down for dinner".
Shit . Damn it. Ok just act like how Lucas would. Act like he did in the novel.
"Ughhh. Fine. I'll be down in a minute". I grumbled loudly to her.
"Ok". She replied and went downstairs. Huuuu. I guess I should meet my family in this world huh. Thinking so I stood up and left the room.
