NPCs within the DOL have their own complex lives.
One NPC may be worried about his future, while the other is fighting with her lover.
Trivial to big and dangerous problems are often found by players who are being faced by NPCs.
The scene that is common in DOL is now being witnessed by Bluevoice.
"I'm sorry, please, at least, spare my daughter's life!"
In front of a group of bandits, a middle-aged man knelt towards them while begging for mercy for his daughter who had been taken by one of the bandits.
The bandits smirked sarcastically at the man's actions.
"You think we care about your daughter's safety, old man? You're very poor, so we'll take your daughter and sell her to the nobles! She'll start living in a big mansion, you should be grateful for our kindness!"
The group of bandits chuckled.
"Good words, Boss!"
"As expected of Boss!"
The middle-aged man's daughter shook her head violently. Tears flowed profusely in her eyes that were shrouded in terror. A pair of little hands of the girl reached towards her father, asking for help in place of her mouth covered by cloth.
The middle-aged man once again knelt down. His forehead was bleeding from the hard impact with the ground.
"Please, please, at least, don't do anything to my daughter!"
Unfortunately, his desperate voice only fueled the abominations of these Bandits.
The louder the middle-aged man begged, the louder they laughed.
Bluevoice watched it in silence while being invisible.
She initially met the father and daughter pair on her way to Cavechallia to meet her best friend, Riona.
They kindly invited Bluevoice who had the appearance of a 12-years-old girl to board their carriage.
Incidentally, the general direction of their travel destination is unidirectional, so Bluevoice casually accepts their kindness.
But who would have thought that they would encounter bandits when passing through the valley.
"What should I do, Leen?"
Bluevoice took out Leen's Player Treasure Chest and rubbed the surface of the chest as if trying to find an answer from it.
Bluevoice closed her eyes.
The noise and crying that occurred did not bother Bluevoice at all. All of this was very trivial compared to what she saw and heard that day.
Then, after a moment of silence, Bluevoice kept Leen's Player Treasure Chest into her Inventory once again.
Bluevoice seems to have received the answer.
"They're nothing but Demons, so I have to kill them right, Leen?"
A cold smile flashed on Bluevoice's pink lips. That pair of sapphire eyes now exuded an extremely powerful killing intent.
A pair of dark red blades appeared in Bluevoice's hand.
She stepped up and began to slash, slash, slash, slash, slash, slash, slash and then, continue to slash.
When Bluevoice stopped slashing, only the father and daughter were still monitored intact. The two of them hugged each other and closed their eyes, trembling with fear.
The bandits... They just disappeared.
As soon as Bluevoice looked around, only pieces of flesh and pools of blood were visible.
Bandits is nowhere to be found.
Smiling sweetly Bluevoice licked the blood that covered the blade of her dagger.
She walked away in silence.
Her footsteps were light - it seemed that she was in a very good mood.
Her mood was so good that she started singing.
"One Leen~... Two Leen~... Three Leen~..."
She created that strange song herself without any specific intention.
She just loves to sing it.
***
Bluevoice has traveled very far from the urban areas of Muvill and the Fhotoir Rainforest.
Around here, rain is a little less common.
Even so, there are still days when it will rain for a long time.
Just like today.
"Ahahaha~! I love rain!"
Bluevoice walked down the path while jumping around, enjoying every drop of rainwater that drenched her.
Bluevoice recalls that she almost never went for a walk when it rained when she was younger.
The rain that falls in the city is often accompanied by typhoons and harmful particles, so most people will take shelter indoors when it rains in this day and age.
How Bluevoice should say, it is like a side effect that will obviously occur as forests and green land decrease due to the expansion of human civilization.
The green earth has long since disappeared after the third world war.
Some of the earth's inhabitants have also formed colonies on other planets.
The population of Earth or The Mother now only numbers no more than 2 billion people and their main focus right now is to revitalize The Mother back to its habitable state as before.
Bluevoice also had time to conduct a study tour to the former nuclear war area that occurred in 2067.
The situation is still very terrible and contaminated even after various efforts made by the humanity living in The Mother since now.
In the past, Bluevoice also aspired to revitalize The Mother back to its original state.
Back to the green Earth, blue skies and vast oceans.
Sure, all of that would require a great effort, but it was a dream of Bluevoice or little Viola.
Now?
Now maybe Bluevoice cares more about Leen than all that.
Letting rain drop after drop wash away the blood stains from her body, Bluevoice stared at the cloud-covered sky.
She was well aware that she had completely changed since that day.
She was aware of it and might even be able to return to her previous self if she was truly determined to.
But Bluevoice and Viola didn't.
She chose not to do so.
That's because Bluevoice likes her right now as she is.
She was freer and stronger as if all the shackles that had restricted her had vanished without a trace.
Well, when it comes to shackles, Bluevoice can still find one.
"Leen..."
Bluevoice hugged Leen's Player Treasure Chest with a sweet smile on her face.
Leen is her last Shackle Symbol that makes Bluevoice fail to completely let go of her previous self.
She was free, but she didn't get out of control.
It was all thanks to Leen.
That's what Bluevoice thinks.
She couldn't even find a reason why she could be so dependent on Leen.
All she knew was that she needed Leen, desperately needed his existence.
Bluevoice withdrew her gaze from the cloudy sky and stared at her path ahead.
For now, her goal was to meet Riona in the land of the Dwarves, Cavechallia.
After that, she will invite Riona to start her journey to become stronger and revive Leen.
The young figure stepped forward, taking the first step towards the future she chose for herself.
The future looked very uncertain and strange, but she chose it because she was sure that only there would she find the life she wanted.
This rain might have been the world's way of crying over her departure, but the girl didn't care.
She had already set her goal.
And no one or anything will be able to change her decision.
