The sun was sinking below the horizon, casting long shadows across the island. Yuji, Ulti, and Page One had just finished a long day of training, their bodies covered in sweat and dirt. Yuji's rigorous regimen was paying off, both children were growing stronger and more skilled each day.
"That's enough for today," Yuji said, wiping his brow. "Let's call it a night and get some rest."
Ulti and Page One exchanged a look as Yuji turned to head back to their camp. As soon as he was out of earshot, Ulti leaned in close to her brother. "Hey, Pagey, I have an idea. What if we sneak out and train a bit more on our own? We can surprise Yuji with how strong we've gotten!"
Page One's eyes widened in excitement, but he also looked wary. "But, Sis, Yuji told us not to go into the forest alone. It could be dangerous."
Ulti crossed her arms, her expression determined. "We can't get stronger if we don't push ourselves. Besides, we have to prove we can take care of ourselves. Are you with me or not?"
Page One hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay, let's do it."
The siblings waited until Yuji was busy setting up the campfire before slipping away into the forest. The dense foliage quickly enveloped them, the familiar sounds of nocturnal creatures creating an eerie atmosphere. Ulti led the way, her heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and fear.
After walking for a while, they reached a small clearing. Ulti turned to her brother with a determined grin. "Let's start with some basic drills. Remember what Yuji taught us."
They began their training, practicing punches, kicks, and dodges. The adrenaline from sneaking out fueled their movements, and they pushed each other to new limits. However, their enthusiasm made them careless.
"Watch this!" Ulti shouted, trying a high kick she had seen Yuji perform earlier. Her foot connected with a tree trunk, and the impact caused a loud crack to echo through the forest.
Suddenly, the air was filled with a low growl. The siblings froze, their eyes darting around in the dim light. From the shadows emerged a massive beast, a giant cat with fur as black as night and eyes that glowed a menacing yellow. Its size and power were evident in the way it moved, muscles rippling under its sleek coat.
Ulti stepped in front of her brother, her heart racing. "Stay behind me, Pagey. We can handle this."
The beast roared, its breath hot and foul. It lunged at them with lightning speed. Ulti pushed Page One aside, narrowly avoiding the beast's claws. She retaliated with a punch, but it barely seemed to faze the creature. The beast swiped at her again, and this time she wasn't fast enough. The impact sent her flying, crashing into a tree with a sickening thud.
Page One screamed, rushing to her side. "Big sis! Are you okay?"
Ulti groaned, struggling to stand. "I'm fine... just stay back."
The beast advanced, its eyes locked on Ulti. Page One grabbed a stick from the ground and tried to fend it off, but the beast easily swatted him away, sending him tumbling. Ulti's vision blurred as she watched her brother hit the ground, dazed.
With a roar, the beast lunged at Ulti, its massive paw poised to crush her head. Ulti closed her eyes, bracing for the end. But just before the paw could connect, a wall of intense heat and light erupted in front of her.
Yuji had arrived.
His Lunarian flames blazed brightly, casting the beast in an otherworldly glow. "Get away from them!" he roared, his voice filled with fury.
The beast hesitated, sensing the power emanating from Yuji. With a swift movement, Yuji stepped between Ulti and the beast, his flames intensifying. The beast roared in defiance, but Yuji's flames drove it back, the intense heat scorching its fur. With a final, ear-splitting roar, the beast turned and fled into the forest, its form disappearing into the shadows.
Yuji extinguished his flames and turned to the siblings, his face a mixture of relief and anger. "What were you thinking? You could have been killed!"
Ulti, still dazed from the impact, struggled to her feet. "We just... we wanted to get stronger. To surprise you."
Yuji's expression softened slightly, but his voice remained stern. "There are better ways to do that than risking your lives. You're both incredibly brave, but you have to be smart about your training. This forest is dangerous, especially at night."
Page One, still shaken, nodded. "We're sorry, Yuji. We didn't mean to worry you."
Yuji sighed, pulling them both into a hug. "I'm just glad you're safe. Come on, let's get back to camp."
As they made their way back, Ulti's mind raced. She couldn't shake the feeling of helplessness she had experienced when the beast attacked. She needed to be stronger, but she also needed to be smarter.
Back at camp, Yuji tended to their injuries, using his skills to patch them up. As they sat by the fire, Ulti reached into her pocket and pulled out a strange fruit she had found earlier in the forest. It had a swirling pattern and an unusual color, a Devil Fruit.
"Yuji, I found this while we were out there," she said, holding it out to him. "Is this what I think it is?"
Yuji's eyes widened as he examined the fruit. "Yes, this is a Devil Fruit. Eating it will grant you incredible powers, but it also comes with a cost. You'll lose your ability to swim, and there might be other risks. Are you sure you want to eat it?"
Ulti looked at the fruit, then back at Yuji. "I want to be stronger. I don't ever want to feel that helpless again. But I'll only do it if you think it's the right thing to do."
Yuji considered her words carefully. "It's your choice, Ulti. But remember, strength isn't just about power. It's also about wisdom, strategy, and knowing your limits. If you decide to eat this fruit, you'll have to train even harder to master its abilities."
Ulti nodded, her determination clear. "I understand. I'll train hard, and I'll make sure to use whatever power I get to protect Pagey and to help you."
Yuji handed her the fruit, his expression serious. "Then go ahead, also you need to eat the whole fruit"
Hearing these Ulti had a blank expression, Seing this Yuji immediately laughed at Ulti "Just kidding"
Ulti took a deep breath and bit into the fruit. The taste was bitter, almost unbearable, but she forced herself to swallow. Almost immediately, she felt a strange sensation coursing through her body, as if her very being was changing.
Page One watched with wide eyes, worry etched on his face. "Are you okay, Sis?"
Ulti nodded, though she felt strange. "I think so. Amazing I ate the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Pachycephalosaurus Model"
Hearing this Yuji can't help feel shock 'I thought that Ulti only got her devil fruit and his brother devil fruit is by stealing those fruit from Kaido to rise rank within the beast pirate? Amazing is this the start of the so called butterfly effect?'
Yuji placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We'll figure it out together. For now, get some rest. Tomorrow, we'll start fresh and see what new abilities you have."
As the night wore on, Yuji kept watch over the camp, his mind troubled by the events of the day. Ulti and Page One, exhausted from their ordeal, soon fell asleep.
