The sun filtered through the tall windows of the lecture hall, the rays pooling in puddles of gold along the rows of seats. Victor and I sat together, excitement buzzing between us. Today was the mandatory one-time crash course on bonding—something I had been eagerly waiting for.
While we had learned a few bits and pieces through stories and readings, it was finally time for an official lesson. And, given how serious Andosa College took bonding, I knew this would be anything but ordinary.
The lecture hall was buzzing with conversation. There were students who looked as nervous as they were excited, whispers of what kind of bond each person hoped for. Some were quietly talking about their aspirations—a rare dragon or some elusive creature that would make them powerful and admired.
