They drove, with full music playing in the car. Immediately they started the car, Ivy connected her phone and played out her favorite. As she sang along the music, Andy couldn't help you shook his head, amusement all over the face. Even her horrible voice couldn't make him lost his smile. It had been long since he saw her so carefree and at ease.
"You and this song. It's as if it casted a spell on you," he said.
"I felt in love with it," she replied.
"It hold so much memory of the three of us, of course I hold it in heart," she said before going back humming the next song that followed.
Memories, Andy couldn't agreed more. The fun and hard time they had with her forcing them to learn the lyrics. It truly held good memories.
As his eyes focused on the road, he sent quick glance at her, wanting to ask the question burning his lips.
'why did you decided to come with me?' he wanted to know. He was happy with her choice but it didn't remove the unnatural of her decision. From his rearview mirror, he could see Liam's car following closely. He could only imagine what he was feeling at the moment.
With a last look at her rather peaceful face, he dropped it. It wasn't worthy anyway. Enjoying the silence, with only the soft music playing in the background, they arrived at their destination.
They parked in front of a small restaurant, choose by the girls. Waiting for them at the door stood Bella and Shirley. They happily wave seeing their cars.
Upon seeing them, Ivy was more than graceful to have changed her mind. Shirley was wearing a beautiful white gown while Bella also decided on a gown but hers was blue. She would have been embarrassed with her jean and t-shirts.
Yet again, she paused, wondering why she was so concerned about it? She gave up on Liam, why was there still the need to compete? Scolding herself, she first got out of Andy's car, not waiting for him to open it for her. Liam's car soon stopped behind theirs.
"Been waiting for long?" Andy asked giving a peck on Bella lips.
She shook her head, " just arrived," she answered before giving a smile to Ivy who only nodded.
Liam soon joined them, and greet Shirley with a kiss on the forehead.
"Hope you didn't wait for long," he said.
"Not at all," she said.
Standing once again in the middle of the couples, Ivy felt out of place, like she didn't belong. She had the urge to turned and leave but took all her will power to stay in place.
If she wanted to move on, she had to live through the day, survive and do the same thing the next day until the pain go away. Until her heart completely give up on Liam like her head did. It didn't stop the pain at the sight of them, or the feeling to be invisible when in the presence of their partners. They were all they could see.
"Liam Black, eating fast-food, would you survive?" She joked walking ahead of them. She pushed open the door and walked in.
It was early in the morning, the restaurants was mostly empty, only few tables was occupied, leaving the restaurants relatively quiet. To Ivy delighted. Deciding on where to sit, she walked to their table. The others only following her.
"For once, I'm sure I won't die," he replied to her, sitting down at the table she chooses. It was by the window, letting them see the passing cars.
"As if you won't survive the other days," she rolled her eyes, a smile formed on her face.
Liam had a strict diet he followed no matter what. It began at an early age, during that period she tried numerous of times to speak him our of it, after numerous fail, she gave up and accepted it as such. As she got older she realized he was the one in the right, but wasn't ready to leave all her delight. It wasn't a style of life for her.
They ordered their food and was served. They ate in a relative silence of Ivy, who didn't go unnoticed but was not surprising. They tried to pushed her in but her short reply was all needed to understand what she wanted.
Once done with food, Ivy said, " what is in the plan now?" She asked still in her seats. Liam was yet to finish his, with Shirley helping him out.
It would have been adorable if not of Ivy urge to rip them apart. Plastering her smile own, she gave her attention to the other couple, who was less expressive of their affection and whom love didn't rip her heart. All she felt was disappointment, Andy could do far better than Bella.
"Amusement park," Liam replied wiping his mouth. Done with his food. Seeing him eating was like he was going through torture.
"Amusement park how original," Ivy mocked.
"If you have a better idea, we are all ear," Liam said irritated.
"Nah, you are the one who kidnapped me. I won't tell you what to do. I would follow what ever you say,"
"Amusement park it is," he stated.
She shrugged, actually don't minding it. Thinking about it, it has been long since she last attended one. Andy paid for their food and they were out. Standing in front of the two car, the same dilemma stood up, with whom would Ivy ride? The obvious answer they knew wasn't so sure anymore. The girls, like the boys were beyond shock seeing her getting out of Andy's car instead of Liam's.
Staring at each other in confusion, they didn't have the time to question it when Ivy naturally walked to Andy's car, to everyone shock. Not once but twice did she picked Andy over Liam. They girls look his way, wondering if he did something but the confused face he was wearing told them himself had no idea.
"What are you doing fixed there? Don't want to go anymore,?" She questioned opening the back door for herself. Another shock. She willingly left the front seat? Without been asked?
"Sure!" Bella was the first to woke to her sense.
"Why aren't you sitting in front?" Bella asked. Curiosity having the best of her.
"Why would I? It's your place, not mine," she simply said without much thought but her words was a bomb.
For people who have known her for years, she never care about such things. Every time, she always took the front seat, minding neither of the boys girlfriends except when been asked otherwise but here she was, stating it wasn't her place. What was wrong.
Only Bella didn't react. She haven't been around Ivy for long so ignored it but Shirley knew better. She was always never considered when they both was riding Liam's car.
"If only I was worthy of such a consideration," Shirley spoke up. Unable to contain it.
"What? You never asked. All you had to do was to ask if you had any issues with it," Ivy shrugged.
She knew Shirley hated it but the latter never spoke up. It wasn't her place to tell her to stand for herself when all she wanted was for her to disappear from Liam's life.
Shirley frowned, lips shut. True, she never asked before, she thought it was the right way to go. To not put Liam in between his girlfriend and best friend. She realized, she may have been too kind.
Seeing the situation going south, Andy jumped in, "Why don't we go now?" He said opening the door for Bella.
"What a gentleman we have here. Why didn't you opened my door earlier?" she asked closing the door she already opened.
Andy shook his head and reopen the door for her, " Miss?" He gestured for her to enter.
"Thanks mister," she said going in.
Andy laughed and walked to the driver door, not without sending a comfort look to Liam.
"Why didn't you go with Liam?" Bella asked putting on her seat belt.
"Why? Is my presence a nuisance?" Ivy asked instead.
"As long as you don't sing," Andy said, closing the door.
"Heh!" she slapped his shoulder, " I don't permit you. Take it back!"
"Why? It's true! You almost made me deaf earlier," he putted on his seat belt.
"She sing so badly," he told Bella.
"Deaf huh? Want me to tell Bella what happened earlier?" Ivy said. A smirk on her face while Andy smile dropped.
"What happened?" Bella asked now intrigued seeing Andy reaction.
"Nothing, right Ivy?"
"Well if nothing is-"
"You sing divinely. Your voice could make jealous the mermaid," he praised her. " Angels are put in shame with how heavenly your voice is."
"Finally telling the truth," she patted his shoulder.
"Your voice is so pure it wake up the death, wanting to hear you sing. One will live content for ever after hearing you sing. It resurrect death, case out demons-"
"Resurrect death huh?" Ivy laughed at his extra.
Andy nodded, " it can even create life," he added.
"Ok! You can stop," it wasn't like she was actually going to say anything, was just fooling with him. Which he knew.
"No wait! I want to know, what happened when I wasn't there?" Bella insisted.
"Nothing," the friends said at the same time.
She insisted but received no response from neither of them, " you guys are mean," she said pouting.
Outside, in their car, the tense atmosphere was felt. Liam was staring with a deep frown, the car in front of them making Shirley uncomfortable. Left with nothing to say, their car ride was silent, their mind wondering on different problems.
