Chapter 24 - In the Arms of Redemption

Ayna was clutching onto Abir's chest, crying uncontrollably. Abir gently consoled her, wrapping her in his coat to cover her torn clothes. He left her standing there for a moment and approached Sagar, striking him across the face with such force that Sagar staggered, blood dripping from his nose.

Sagar, angry and disoriented, said, "Bro, listen to me… I'm sorry! It wasn't my fault. I was just trying to teach her a lesson."

Abir hit him again, knocking him to the ground. "How dare you touch her?" he roared. "And who are you to punish her? I won't spare you—I'll kill you!"

With that, Abir and Sagar began fighting furiously. Abir's anger had reached a boiling point, and he was pummeling Sagar relentlessly. At that moment, Adil, Madan, and Maya arrived, shocked to see the two fighting.

Adil's eyes caught sight of Ayna standing in a corner, trembling and crying. He walked over to her, observing her condition, and immediately understood what had happened. Hugging her briefly, he whispered, "Relax, I get what's going on here."

Meanwhile, Maya cried out, "Abir, please let him go! You're beating up your own brother over a girl!"

Abir stopped for a moment and responded coldly, "He's not my brother! And you're not my mother, so stop forcing these relationships on me."

In a loud voice, Madan demanded, "Stop this right now! What is going on here?"

Sagar, staggering to his feet, approached Maya and said, "Mom, it's all because of this girl. I was punishing her, and I don't know why Abir is so upset about it."

Abir, enraged, shouted, "Really? You weren't punishing her—you were forcing yourself on her! And who gave you the right to punish her?"

Upon hearing this, Madan looked at Ayna, then back at Sagar, and said, "What kind of behavior was this, Sagar? Don't you feel any shame, doing such a thing to a girl? There are other ways to punish someone, if that's what you thought was needed. But this is despicable."

Suddenly, Maya interrupted, saying, "This girl is not innocent. She's trying to trap our son! And don't forget, she's a killer—first, she killed Tashvi, and now she's after Sagar."

Sagar sneered, looking at Abir. "Bro, don't we all know she's your mistress? Every night, she's with you, making your nights colorful. So what's the big deal if she ends up in my bed one day?"

Everyone was shocked by Sagar's words, and Ayna's tears only flowed faster. Abir was silent, too, knowing that he himself had initially painted Ayna in this light as a form of punishment. Yet, seeing her suffer like this was unbearable for her.

Ayna turned to Adil, crying, "I want to go back. I can't stay here. Please, take me home."

Adil nodded. "Alright, calm down. We'll leave right now." Saying this, he led Ayna out of there.

Once they reached Abir's villa, Ayna rushed to her room, heading straight to the bathroom. She turned on the shower, sitting beneath it and hugging herself as she sobbed. The water poured over her as she cried, trying to wash away the pain.

Abir entered the bathroom, sitting beside her. Ayna looked up, saw him, and said, "Please… leave me alone." She lowered her head, resuming her tears.

"I need to talk to you," Abir said gently.

Looking back up at him, Ayna asked through her tears, "What am I to you? Your mistress? One minute, you're forcing yourself on me, and the next, your brother is doing the same. Tomorrow, someone else will. The word 'mistress' sounds so vile, yet you've made me one."

Abir sighed. "I'm sorry, Ayna. Because of me, you've had to endure so much. I know my mistake is unforgivable, but I still want to apologize. If you can ever forgive me, please do. I acted out of misunderstanding—I didn't know the truth. You were with my sister in that condition, and I assumed you killed her. But why didn't you ever try to explain it to me?"

Ayna responded, "Did you ever ask me why I did it? All you did was throw accusations at me. If you'd asked, maybe I would have found the courage to tell you."

Abir looked at her in silence, realizing that she was right. The fault had been his all along.

After a moment, he stood up, helping Ayna to her feet. He removed her wet clothes, wrapping her in a bathrobe, and put on a towel himself. Then, carrying her to the closet room, he dressed her in a nightgown and changed into a T-shirt and sweatpants. They both returned to the bedroom.

He lay Ayna down on the bed and lay down beside her, keeping a respectful distance. Noticing this, Ayna moved closer to him, resting her head on his chest.

At first, Abir was surprised by her gesture. But soon, a faint smile spread across his face as he wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her close. They both drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.
