Reo inquired about the "God Warrior." The AI woman replied, "God Warrior is the highest level one can achieve—a rank even above the Xeon Warrior."
Intrigued, Reo wanted to know more, but his access level was insufficient. He wondered, What kind of warrior is that if even the authority of a Valdor Warrior is insignificant in comparison? He sighed, moving on to check other resources like cultivation methods and weapons.
After a while, Reo felt mentally exhausted. The prices for weapons and cultivation techniques were steep—his beginner's allotment of 10,000 CP (crypto points) was far from enough to buy anything of higher rank. He thought, In this system, everything is exchanged for CP. I'll need to earn enough points to buy a decent weapon and techniques.
Reo opened the missions section, where completing assignments would reward him with CP. There were a variety of missions, but as a starter, he opted for a low-rank one:
Mission: Eliminate the monster horde in Sector 9 and subjugate Semi-Titan-class species.
Reward: 30,000 CP
Time Limit: 24 hours
Notice: If the mission is not completed within the allotted time, it will be marked as failed. Failed missions result in a penalty of one month without new assignments. If a warrior fails three times, they are stripped of their rank and reassigned to C.L.I (Central Line of Invasion).
Reading this, Reo thought, The system certainly offers high rewards but with equally high demands. Alright then, let's get to it and complete our first mission.
The next day, Reo stood in front of a massive wall gate, clad in black armor. A Lieutenant Colonel badge was pinned to the left side of his chest, and a sword rested on his back. Reo sighed and muttered quietly, "Because of the military allowance, I could only get medium-grade armor and a low-rank sword…"
Suddenly, a soldier approached and asked, "Sir, we're ready to open the gate. Are you prepared?" Reo nodded.
As the gate opened, a chilling wind swept through, carrying the roars of distant monsters. The soldiers saluted him. "Have a safe mission, sir," one of them said.
Reo nodded, then dashed forward. A few miles out, he found himself surrounded by a pack of monsters. Drawing his sword, he said, "I don't have time to play with all of you, so come at me all at once."
Within minutes, he dealt with the entire pack, then rushed toward his designated target: a semi-Titan-class monster. Using the system's tracking, Reo soon arrived in an open field. But as he took in the scene before him, he stopped, shocked by what lay in front of him.
He spotted a group of massive, rhinoceros-like monsters, each larger than anything he'd ever seen. These creatures had four eyes, arranged in pairs, and two horns on their foreheads. Their bodies were covered in thick black scales, and their numbers exceeded a hundred. In the center stood Reo's target—a semi-Titan-class creature, similar in form but radiating a black and red aura, exuding a majestic, dominating presence. Reo gulped, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement.
Formulating his plan, Reo waited until sunset. Under the cover of night, he hid in the shadows and used his AI system to analyze the landscape, choosing a riverbank as the optimal site. He hunted a few low-level monsters and placed their corpses near the river, letting their scent spread through the area as bait.
As he waited, he heard the monsters' roars—his trap had worked. A portion of the monsters was lured out by the smell. Overjoyed, Reo whispered, "Phase 1: Scout & Analyze… and Phase 2: Lure Minions Away… complete. Now for Phase 3: Hit-and-Run Tactics."
Moving stealthily toward the monsters feasting by the river, Reo kept to the shadows, blade drawn. Concentrating his strength into his grip, he slashed at a monster's neck, where its scales were weakest. Under the moonlight, the river ran purple with their blood. Breathing heavily, Reo muttered, "Now, Phase 4: Isolate the Boss."
Keeping his distance, Reo took out a small device. "Good thing I brought this along," he thought. Positioning it away from the main pack, he activated it through his AI system. A high-frequency roar echoed from the device, mimicking the sound of the monsters' own species. The remaining monsters immediately charged toward the sound, leaving the semi-Titan creature with only a handful of guards.
Reo smiled, gripping his sword. "Now, Phase 5: Engage & Defeat the Boss…"
Reo appeared in front of the semi-Titan-class monster and several other beasts. He instructed his system to analyze them, and the bracelet on his wrist began to scan. A report flashed on the display:
"Monster Species: Maelothor. Level: Approaching Titan class. Abilities: Enhanced body strength and aura resonance."
The Maelothor, seeing Reo, roared furiously, then charged forward, its mouth opening wide. Reo assumed a fighting stance, ready to engage, but to his surprise, the Maelothor turned and began devouring its own kind. Reo was stunned by the creature's behavior.
Suddenly, a system notification appeared: "Titan-class evolution signal detected nearby."
Realizing what was happening, Reo thought, This monster is consuming its own species to break into Titan level—I have to stop it now! Without hesitation, he dashed toward the Maelothor, determined to end it before the evolution was completed.
