I sat in the small office with my lawyer, staring at the stack of papers on his desk. My heart raced as I anticipated what he had to say.
The air felt heavy and filled with tension. I had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity, and now that it was here, I wasn't sure how to react.
"Princess Isabella," Julius began, his tone steady yet cautious. "I have some news regarding your divorce from Prince Nicholas."
My breath hitched. "What is it? Did he agree?" I barely managed to get the words out.
"Yes, he did," Mr. Thompson replied, his expression serious. "He has agreed to sign the divorce papers."
A wave of disbelief washed over me. I felt like I had just been hit by a freight train. "He agreed? Just like that?" I struggled to wrap my head around the reality of it. After all the fights, the accusations, and the bitterness, he was willing to let me go.
