Chapter 10 - Ch 10 : Try-Me_2

"Baby, hurry up, the movie's about to start!"

At the theater entrance, a girl tugged her boyfriend's hand, urging him

"Yeah, I'm coming, darling. But loosen your grip a bit, my hand's hurting," he replied, looking about 22, with white hair and a handsome face.

"Sorry, baby! I was just so excited. You know how long I've been waiting to see this movie," she said, loosening her hold, a hint of regret in her voice.

"Yeah, I know. I've been waiting with you, remember?" he reassured her.

"Ahh, I can't hold back any longer! Let's go see my favorite actor," she exclaimed, pulling him inside.

Max chuckled, watching the lovebirds. "People here are so passionate about watching movies, just like me. On Earth, couples would mostly go to movies to have some romantic time, not even caring much about what's on screen. But these two look like true movie lovers, I can see it in their eyes," he thought, heading inside with Jammy.

Once inside, the place was buzzing with excitement and packed with people. Max made a quick stop at the washroom, a habit he had before watching a movie, ensuring no interruptions.

With just five minutes left before the movie began, he took his seat, with Jammy sitting to his right. He was starting to feel less shocked by the differences, realizing it didn't make sense to compare everything to Earth. Advanced, futuristic seats surrounded him, and though he was momentarily taken aback, he settled in and focused on the screen, where some ads were playing.

Lights dimmed as the ads ended, and the screen lit up with the start of the movie. Both Max and Jammy focused intently on the screen, with the rest of the audience just as captivated. After a brief written introduction, the movie's title, Try-Me, appeared in flaming letters across the screen, prompting excited cheers from the crowd.

The story began with scenes from the hero Jack's childhood, showing his ordinary life and his early friendships. Among his friends were a few who were involved with gangs even at a young age, and Jack quickly became close to them. As the movie progressed, a time-lapse showed Jack growing up, eventually becoming a 25-year-old man who was happily living with his family. This was the scene highlighted in the movie trailer.

"Ehhh… What? How?" Max muttered, questions swirling in his mind as he watched the screen, his face showing his confusion.

As Jack was having dinner with his family, a group of gangsters wearing black masks suddenly barged into the house and, without a word, opened fire on Jack's family. "No! Stop! Leave my family alone, I'll come with you!" Jack screamed, pleading with the gangsters.

Movie started almost 40 minutes ago, and Max still couldn't quite understand the story. The dialogues didn't seem particularly captivating to him, and he was beginning to feel bored. But looking around, he noticed that everyone else seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the movie—even Jammy, who was seated beside him, looked completely absorbed. Seeing the excitement in the audience, Max thought, "Am I missing something here? Maybe I'm not paying enough attention to the movie, which is why I'm not getting it."

He decided to refocus and try to catch the details, hoping it would help him understand what had everyone so captivated.

All the gangsters had killed Hero's family, who were his mother, father, and sister. And there dead body were lying on the ground covered in blood right in front of Jack.

"This is the boss's order; you have to return."one of the gangsters said nonchalantly, as if taking lives was routine.

"Fine, I'm going with you now. Happy?"

Jack muttered, turning to leave the house with the gangsters following him.

Seeing this, Max was practically screaming in his mind, "Hey…hey… where are you going? They just killed your family right in front of you, show some emotion! Anger, grief… something! And you're just walking away? No last rites or anything?"

Max was baffled at how anyone could be so detached after witnessing such a tragedy.

Jack went with the gangsters to their base where all the area's Dons were sitting and each Don had their own team standing behind them. They were having some kind of meeting. The door to that room opened and Jack entered the meeting room, lighting his lighter and smoking a cigarette. Along with it, "Oh... look who's here," one of the men said, looking at Jack.

Jack said nothing, quietly went to the man, grabbed his collar and yelled angrily, "Why did you kill them? Speak, bastard!"

"You know why I gave the order. I had told you from childhood that if you came into the underworld, you would have to leave everything behind. You didn't listen to me, so I decided to eliminate them... kkekekek... it was fun seeing you here." The man grabbed Jack's hand, shook it hard, and sat down on the chair.

"So you tried me, now see what happens next." Jack threatened angrily and went and sat down on the chair.

Max couldn't understand from which part of the movie this started and where it would end. For him, every scene didn't fit into the movie according to his understanding, like what the hero's goal is, what he's trying to do.

Jack got involved with the gangsters to expand his illegal business and soon started controlling a large area and formed his own gang. The ending came when, inside a big factory, the hero had spilled petrol on the ground. Perhaps the hero had intentionally filled the entire area with petrol, and his enemies were standing in front of him, screaming in fear. They were the leaders of a big gang.

When the hero Jack lit a cigarette, he said his last dialogue, "Until now, you all tried me together, now I try all of you. Let's see who wins in this TRY game." Saying this, he threw the burning lighter from his hand, and due to the petrol spilled on the ground, there was a huge explosion.

And on the screen, it was written in fire, "TRY-ME_ Part 2 The Winner" and below it was written "Coming soon".

Seeing this, people started screaming in shock and madness.

Max was completely disturbed after watching the movie. He was very frustrated from inside. "What kind of crap did the director make? Bastard, fuck you... What are you trying to say with this movie? There are so many main things left unexplained, like what happened to the hero's family? His family was murdered in front of him, so did he just move on like that? Were they not his real family or were they the enemy's family? If they were the hero's family, then where is his revenge, his anger, his sadness?"

"And what kind of gangster is this? If you become a gangster, you kill his family and then call him back to make him a partner? The hero is doing business with them instead of taking revenge."

"Just what the hell is going on? This movie is shit... bullshit..." Max's mind was boiling with questions and anger."

Max's mood was completely off. For the first time, he had seen such a terrible, trashy movie. He now felt like someone had placed the flesh of a dead rat in his mouth, and he was giving that kind of expression. Just then, a girl's loud scream echoed.

"Whaaaaaat a great movie! I enjoyed it so much, I can't wait to watch the second part, baby!" It was the same girl Max had noticed a few hours earlier before the movie started.

"Yeah, I loved this movie too. I got so absorbed that I didn't even realize it had ended, hahaha!" her boyfriend said, laughing as he shared his review.

Hearing them talk, Max stood up from his seat, turned around, and glared at the couple sitting behind him.

He shouted furiously, "Just shut the fuck up, you damn couple bastards!" Seeing Max suddenly yell like this, Jammy got startled and quickly covered Max's mouth with his hand to stop him from making any other sounds.

"Max..."
