"Hey, what did you say, you fucker?" the girl's boyfriend asked angrily, trying to confirm if Max had told them to shut up.
Jammy's hand was covering Max's mouth, so Max pushed it away. Staring at the couple with fury, he yelled, "Yes, I told you two to shut up! You're calling this trash movie 'great'? Are you guys crazy, or did the director pay you to give good reviews in public?"
As Max spoke, the people around him started glaring because they actually loved the movie, and hearing him call it trash was making them mad. One guy in an irritated tone said, "Hey, mister, are you out of your mind? This movie is from Oscar-winning, S-rated director Jacob, who's famous for action movies. His movies are blockbuster hits at the box office and earn ten times their budget. This one will earn more than that, too, and you're calling it trash? Do you even know what you're talking about?"
Hearing this, Max's anger rose even further. "What did you say, you bald bastard? This movie was made by an Oscar-winning, S-rated director? If you know so much about him, you should also know that this so-called S-rated director Jacob has no brain!"
"What did you just say, motherfu*ker?" The man, enraged by Max's words, started moving forward to hit him. Just then, security guards arrived and held the man back. Jammy, watching Max in such a fit of rage for the first time, was too shocked to understand what was happening. Snapping out of his shock, Jammy grabbed Max and quickly pulled him outside before things escalated further. The security guards escorted the angry man out through another exit, and the couple began to leave as well. The girl's boyfriend muttered, "Who was that freak bastard…?"
"Hey, buddy, what happened to you? Why did you suddenly start swearing at those people? Didn't you like the movie?" Jammy asked, finally letting go of Max and trying to understand.
"Like it…? Like it?! This movie is complete bullsh*t! It has no logic, no sense whatsoever, and those people are calling it a great movie! If that doesn't make me mad, what will?" Max still hadn't calmed down because he takes movies very seriously.
"Calm down, man, you'll get beaten up by everyone here, and they'll drag me into it too if you keep talking like this," Jammy said, trying to calm Max down in a worried voice.
Hearing Jammy, Max looked at him and replied, "I'm just telling the truth about this movie. If anyone gets angry over what I'm saying, you can bet they've been paid by the director."
"Max, listen to me—just don't say anything more. Whatever you want to say, tell me when we're back home. But please, don't say anything here in public." Jammy was genuinely scared; if someone got mad and attacked them, it could create a huge problem. He needed to bring Max under control before things got out of hand.
After listening to Jammy, Max calmed down a little and stayed quiet for a while. Meanwhile, Jammy glanced around and noticed another movie poster nearby. In it, a guy was kneeling down, putting a ring on a girl's finger—probably a rom-com movie.
Seeing the poster, Jammy got an idea and looked at Max. "Max, let's watch this movie. The director's rom-coms are usually good. It might help lighten your mood."
Hearing Jammy, Max looked at the poster, which read "You're My World." Just reading the title made him feel like watching it. "Alright, let's go," he said.
Jammy went over to the ticket counter to buy tickets, but unfortunately, they were sold out. Disappointed, he was about to head back when a man approached, selling tickets in black. Reluctantly, Jammy bought two tickets at double the price and returned to Max. The movie was set to start at 9 p.m., and they had about half an hour to wait.
Once the wait ended, Max felt hopeful that this movie would be good and improve his mood. Both friends entered and sat down in their seats. "This movie is going to lift your spirits, Max," Jammy said with a grin, looking toward the screen.
"Let's hope it's actually good! Otherwise..." Max said, looking seriously at the screen.
The movie began with a kiss scene. It was the same guy from the poster, but the girl wasn't the same. The main character, Kangton, was a university student involved physically with many girls on campus, but none of them truly appealed to him emotionally.
The first half of the movie was just Kangton's encounters with different girls, showing his various flings. When the first half ended, Jammy looked over at Max, asking, "So, how's the movie? The story's good, right? I'm really enjoying it."
Max didn't respond, but inside, he was boiling with anger. "Story? What story...? So far, it's just Kangton hooking up with every girl he meets. This isn't a movie—it's like watching a two-hour-long porn! I'm going to go crazy watching this garbage. I just wanted to watch a decent movie, and here I am watching this trash made by that idiot of a director," he fumed internally, silently cursing the film.
After a while, the second half began, and the girl from the poster made her entrance. Her name was Rosy, and she had a carefree, bold attitude. When she arrived at college, a guy was watching her. Noticing him, Rosy walked up and playfully asked, "Wanna take a ride on me?" The guy, surprised at first, smirked, and they both headed off together, where things took an intimate turn .
Max, now thoroughly frustrated with the movie, thought to himself, "What's going on? Just show me a proper story already! Is this really a movie, or just a collection of random S*x scenes?"
Max felt like his mind was being filled with nonsense as he watched the movie.
The story continued with Kangton and Rosy becoming friends, and soon, a deeper connection developed between them. Kangton, who had been searching for love for years, finally saw that love in Rosy. He confessed his feelings, and the two began dating, carrying the movie forward.
Kangton had been giving Rosy so much importance, even more than himself. He had convinced her to marry him, and he was overjoyed. But, unexpectedly, his health started to decline—he was losing weight and feeling weak. Concerned, he went to the hospital for a checkup, where he received a shocking diagnosis: he had AIDS. Kangton was devastated, especially since he had always used protection during any past relationships. He couldn't understand how this had happened.
As he walked back to his room, lost in thought, he heard Rosy's voice from inside, talking to another man, saying, "No condom." Kangton froze outside the door, stunned.
It all made sense to him now. He remembered Rosy saying those same words to him in the past, encouraging him not to use protection. That moment revealed how he had unknowingly contracted AIDS through his close relationship with her.
And that was where the movie ended.
As soon as it finished, Max started laughing uncontrollably. Seeing him laughing like that, everyone else in the theater stared at him with anger. They had all been moved by the movie, feeling Kangton's heartbreak and the emotional twist at the end, even bringing tears to their eyes.
Even Jammy, who found the movie touching, was a bit emotional. He was shocked to see his friend suddenly burst out laughing.
Max just kept laughing. "The heroine turns out to be a shady character, and the hero's a playboy... and their so-called love story ends with the heroine giving him AIDS! Seriously? For me, this was just... S*x.....S*x.... and then... AIDS? The whole thing is nonsense. And the audience loves this kind of movie and gets emotional over it? What did I just watch? If I watch another movie like this, my senses will stop working. I won't even know what's good or bad anymore!" He couldn't stop laughing, while inside, he was also burning with frustration.
"Are all the movies here completely senseless? They're showing absolute nonsense, and these people are actually enjoying it! If I keep watching movies like this for the rest of my life, I'll end up in a mental hospital for sure. Just forget this world… it's a trashy movie world. I just want to escape and forget about this absurd place. God, please, just send me back to Earth—I don't care if I'm reborn poor; this world isn't for me, where everyone's obsessed with these mindless movies!"
After watching just these two movies, Max realized that most movies in this world were likely full of trash, senseless, and downright awful. This world felt meaningless to him since movies were the only thing he truly loved; he didn't care much about anything else.
"If this is the kind of movie they make here, then I could create something far better..." Max began to say, when suddenly, a small, adorable doll appeared before him, and a voice echoed in his mind:
" Lost soul detected. Linking process initiating... 1%... 30%... 100%."
