After breakfast, Kingsu and Yuhi Kurenai walked hand in hand toward the entrance of the Uchiha clan district.
Their sudden pairing attracted curious stares from passersby.
"Wait, isn't Yuhi Kurenai supposed to be with Asuma Sarutobi, Hokage-sama's son?"
"I didn't expect that even the village's most cherished flower would fall for Uchiha Kingsu's charm."
"Ah, when will us single folks catch a break?"
"I'll tell you what—just get stronger! To be honest, after seeing Kingsu's blue giant last night, I wished I were a woman…"
"Dude, that's not quite how it works…"
The whispers varied, some amused and some judgmental, but Kingsu ignored them. He'd heard all types of remarks since he began courting women for his clan's revival. Kurenai, however, found herself blushing under the weight of the attention, sneaking glances at Kingsu's calm face for reassurance.
Her respect for him deepened. "He's so composed, so powerful… yet he remains unbothered by what others think. Such resilience can't be easy…"
They continued through the village, reaching a place Kingsu knew well: the Konoha Police Department.
The Uchiha clan had once led this institution, and for convenience, the building had been established close to their district. But since the clan's massacre, the facility had been managed by Morino Ibiki, head of the Interrogation Unit.
Kingsu paused in front of the police department's entrance, a contemplative look on his face.
"What's on your mind, Kingsu?" Kurenai asked.
"Let's go in. I want to check on Danzo's interrogation progress."
"Oh, alright…"
---
Inside, Kingsu knocked on the door of Morino Ibiki's office.
"Come in," came Ibiki's gruff voice.
Kingsu and Kurenai entered, surprising Ibiki, who looked at them curiously.
"Kingsu? Kurenai? What brings you here together…?" he asked, confused. Ibiki knew Kurenai as Asuma's girlfriend, and seeing her with Kingsu was unexpected.
Oblivious to the change in Kurenai's relationships, he turned his attention to Kingsu, offering him newfound respect since Kingsu's recent demonstrations of strength.
Kingsu got straight to the point. "Ibiki, any updates on Danzo's interrogation?"
Ibiki hesitated, looking away uncomfortably. "Uh… nothing significant. Truth is, the interrogation's made zero progress."
"Why's that?"
Ibiki scratched his head. "Danzo has… well, lost his mind, apparently. We've had to halt the sessions."
"Lost his mind? You're telling me Danzo has gone mad?" Kingsu's voice held an incredulous edge.
Ibiki's explanation sounded ridiculous, but he continued. "Even so, Danzo's condition would normally still allow for interrogation. But…" Ibiki's gaze darted away again. "The higher-ups have prevented the Intelligence Department from pursuing the case."
Kingsu's eyes narrowed. "Ah. So this is Sarutobi Hiruzen's doing."
Kingsu had heard the Hokage's promise to seek justice for the Uchiha clan, but it appeared Hiruzen wasn't interested in revealing Danzo's crimes after all. He should have expected this outcome. Hiruzen and Danzo were cut from the same cloth; it was unrealistic to think one would expose the other.
Kingsu didn't feel anger, though. Instead, he felt a surge of resolve.
The only way to bring Danzo's evil to light would be to confront both him and Hiruzen directly, and for that, he needed more power, influence, and support from the people. While Danzo had already been dealt a blow, Hiruzen still had the advantage. Kingsu knew he wasn't yet strong enough to take him on.
Improving his strength was straightforward. With his many wives and expanding family, his powers were bound to grow rapidly. Within a few years, he was confident he would be able to surpass every shinobi in Konoha.
However, gaining influence and public support would require a different approach.
His gaze shifted to the building before him—the Konoha Police Department.
This was once the Uchiha clan's responsibility. It was his chance to reclaim a powerful role within the village's structure, a role that would give him visibility and credibility among the people.
The police department interacted with villagers daily. If he could excel here, he could win the trust and loyalty of the public. The position was one of influence and responsibility, where he could build a reputation as a reliable leader.
Kingsu turned to Kurenai. "Let's go to the Hokage's office."
"Are you sure you want me to come along?" Kurenai hesitated, mindful of her past relationship with Asuma, Hiruzen's son.
Kingsu reached out, gently taking her hand and pressing a light kiss to her cheek. "If you're uncomfortable, you can wait outside. I'll be quick."
The kiss dispelled her reluctance. Asuma had been the one to walk away, and she was now committed to Kingsu. There was no reason for her to feel guilty.
"No, Kingsu. I'll go with you."
Kingsu smiled, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "Alright, let's go."
With that, they left the police department, leaving Ibiki behind, bewildered by the unexpected shift in Kurenai's loyalties.

At the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi sat at his desk, reviewing a stack of documents. When Kingsu and Kurenai entered, he looked up, his expression flickering with surprise.
"Kingsu, Kurenai. What brings you here?"
Kingsu met his gaze evenly. "Hokage-sama, I'm here to formally request the restoration of the Uchiha's right to manage the police department."
Hiruzen's brow furrowed slightly. "The police department has been under the Interrogation Unit's jurisdiction since… the incident. Morino Ibiki is fully capable of managing it."
"With all due respect, Hokage-sama, the police department has always been integral to the Uchiha clan. As you know, I'm working to rebuild our legacy. Restoring the Uchiha's role would benefit the village by bringing a sense of balance and continuity."
Hiruzen sighed, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "Kingsu, the police force brings its own challenges. The villagers may not be fully receptive to the Uchiha returning to this position."
"I understand the risk. But I am confident in my ability to earn the villagers' trust," Kingsu replied firmly. "As head of the Uchiha, I'm prepared to take on that responsibility."
After a pause, Hiruzen's expression softened. "Very well. But remember, this is a demanding role. The police department requires discipline, commitment, and a strong sense of justice. You'll be directly accountable to the villagers."
Kingsu nodded, resolute. "I understand, and I am ready."
Hiruzen gave a nod of approval. "Then consider it done. You will assume the role of Police Minister effective immediately."
Kingsu gave a respectful bow. "Thank you, Hokage-sama."
---
As they left the Hokage's office, Kurenai looked at Kingsu, admiration evident in her eyes. "I knew you were serious about reviving the Uchiha clan, but seeing it like this… you really are determined."
Kingsu met her gaze with a gentle smile. "This is only the beginning. With the police department under Uchiha leadership again, we can build a future where the Uchiha and Konoha's people coexist peacefully."
Kurenai felt a swell of pride for him and the life they were creating together. By his side, she knew she could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Kingsu's focus was clear. The police department was the first step, and from there, he would continue to pursue power and public favor, not for his own gain but to bring justice and strength back to the Uchiha name.
And as they walked back toward their new home, Kingsu's thoughts turned to his next move. With Kurenai beside him and the clan's future resting on his shoulders, he was more motivated than ever.
The Uchiha's resurgence had only just begun.
