After leaving the town, Kyle along with Brandon were on their way to the warrior base so that Kyle could enroll as a warrior.
On the way there, it was revealed to him that the original body owner had a wife and the captain was her brother. Which was shocking in itself and then he was told that the original owner's wife died because of the beasts.
Kyle thought maybe it was because of this that Brandon had joined the sect to become a warrior and kill the beasts that killed his sister.
After a few minutes of walking, they had gotten to the sect base and Kyle was met with technology he hadn't seen in this world when he first arrived.
Then he was taken to the registrar to register himself as a warrior of the sect but what the registrar said was quite surprising.
"He is quite weak, I don't think he can last long here." The man sighed.
Hearing this, Brandon just clicked his tongue.
"Isn't there anything we can do? He wants to join the sect so let's let him decide."
"You don't understand, he's weaker than the normal usual recruits. He can die here, you do know the type of training that takes place here."
"I know but he really wants to join the sect so let's just let him." Brandon said.
"Do you think that hearing about the rigorous training, he will still join?"
"Guys! Can you stop arguing about it? I have heard about the rigorous training and I didn't think it was going to be easy before I decided to enrol in the sect." Kyle said.
"So I don't care what it takes, I want to join."
"Well, since you're so enthusiastic about joining, then fine suit yourself. Let's see how long you last." The registrar said stamping the piece of paper that had Kyle's information.
"And your training starts from today. You can't leave the base without completing your 6 months worth of training."
"Now? But I'm so hungry. That's the main reason I decided to head into town to get something to eat." Kyle complained.
The registrar just shrugged and looked at Brandon.
"Handle this, I have a lot of work to do." The registrar said as he went back to his table to work.
Brandon along with Kyle just left the office.
"Now, you are a recruit of the warrior sect. And you would train as one. For now, let's get you something to eat and change in to. And then we can get you settled in your new room." Brandon said as he led Kyle to the sect's canteen.
He got Kyle some food for him and himself too. They both sat down to eat.
"So what do you think about the sect so far?" Brandon said as he took a scoop of his food.
"Well, I haven't been here for too long so I haven't formed an opinion yet." Kyle said as he was gulping his food down hurriedly.
"Anyway, I gotta tell you. During your two months of training, we won't see each other again. But after you are done with the training, you will be put under a squad and become a full fledged warrior."
"So do your best to make me proud and also my sister should be watching you. Do your best to also make her proud and grow strong enough to take revenge." Brandon smiled.
"I plan to take revenge." Kyle mumbled.
That was when a commotion was heard in the canteen.
"What do you mean by you get to take charge?" A loud voice asked.
"I said I will take charge of the next mission since the captain isn't around to." Another person said.
"You don't get to decide." The earlier guy shouted again.
Brandon and Kyle turned around to see what the commotion was about. They could see two guys arguing about who would take charge of the next mission.
Seeing this, Brandon just shook his head as he went to try and defuse the situation while Kyle was devouring his food.
Walking slowly, Brandon was now in front of them and when they saw him, they instantly knew who he was; The infamous black masked captain.
"What's the commotion about?" Brandon asked.
A silver haired guy decided to reply the captain.
"Being the oldest, I wanted to lead our squad on the next mission since the captain isn't around. But Lin here has a problem with that."
"Why should I let you lead?" Lin a young looking man with a fiery red hair asked.
"Because I'm the oldest." Chin; the silver haired man said.
They continued bickering back and forth and Brandon didn't know what to do that was when Kyle came in after he was done devouring his food.
"How about you guys battle it out?" Kyle said coming over.
Lin and Chin both looked at Kyle together.
"Why are you staring at me like that? You guys both want to lead but you can't come an agreement, then why don't you duel it out and then the winner gets to lead." Kyle smiled.
"And why should we listen to you?" Chin asked. "Who are you to tell us what to do?"
"I'm a nobody. I just gave a suggestion, it's your choice if you want to take it." Kyle shrugged.
"Well we aren't doing that." Chin sharply said.
"What's wrong?" Lin asked. "Are you scared old man?"
"Scared? Why would I be scared of you weakling?" Chin asked.
"Well old man, if you aren't scared, why not prove it to us by duelling me?" Lin replied.
By now, everyone had surrounded them expecting a fight to occur. Seeing them all, Chin didn't want to embarrass himself.
"Fine, let's duel. But don't think for a second I will take it easy on you." Chin said.
"Great. Let's battle it out at the training grounds by noon." Lin said and they both shook their hands heading out to prepare before their duel.
"You know you just made things worse right?"Brandon asked Kyle.
To which Kyle just shrugged. "They were a hell lot of noise therefore disturbing me eating in peace."
Brandon just shook his head as he headed off with Kyle who was excited to see the duel between two warriors.
